You typically don't get stats that high as a one year wonder...the Coach usually doesn't use a one year wonder as the focal point of an offense...as stated before if you watched him did you see a one year wonder (not just last year but during his career)...now, if you tell me the QB situation makes you nervous I can totally see that because that is an x-factor with his value but overall this kid is the real deal and IMO the type of fantasy asset that can help win you championships which I feel sometimes some Dynasty Owners don't chase as much as they should.

I can see being leery of him due to those two issues...they are both valid concerns...it appears some others value that package more than me...Akers is a complete wildcard so I have no issues moving on from him now in case how he looked in the playoffs is what he is post-injury and his value tanks (I also don't trust McVay not to add another quality RB)...St. Brown looks to be a good one but I would much rather have Deebo in my starting line-up than him starting or on my bench...a #1 is always tough to give up but you have a year to also get one back and if Deebo duplicates 2021 you won't care that you gave it up...this is not a bad package but it is one where the Owner is sneekily keeping the core of his team together and adding a legit difference-maker that could put him over the top for a few years.

Deebo is good.  He had a fabulous year.

A year from now this will look like a big overpay for Deebo.  Just my opinion.

Lookin' like a bad trade now that the testing is done. This guy could see Hall and Walker both go, and be stuck with Spiller or a wide receiver. 

I've heard -- and I agree -- that in dynasty, if you have to pick early, you pick RB. You just do. It's easier, sure, to build for long-term around a WR, but scarcity tells you you've got to go RB, I think. Whatever. It's an interesting thought. But I hate this trade -- trading out of the 1.01 and dropping a tier.

"Bad" trade might be pushing it.

Truth be told, I acquired the 3 and 5 here.  

I am also not of the opinion that you have to take RB at the top of rookie drafts, at all.  

I would have no problem being "stuck" with two of the top 3 WRs in this class.  

Also truth be told, I made the deal before reading the Breece Hall thread, lol.  However I knew something was up when I got a different offer from the guy for 1.01.  I countered and he accepted.  No regerts.....

I am hoping to use pick 5 in trade for an established RB.  I have picks 3,4,5 now

Sorry man, I don't think it's awful or too bad, per se. And the calcs might very well favor what you did. I just would rather be in the catbird seat until the draft with Hall testing better than even Saquon Barkley. That's all. If you asked me days ago, I'd have said "sure" to that swap, because all along we've heard that the 1.01 hasn't stood out at all. But that changed. 

That might be why I don't like the trade so much. Why not wait until the draft to make positional moves like you did? Wouldn't it have been better to wait? 

I don't know. I hope I don't sound too critical. I tend to step lightly around these when I know someone on the board is involved. I'll admit that. I generally defer because anybody who is on the boards and spends as much time here as you generally knows what they're doing. You post enough to where I didn't think it was necessarily you who made the deal.

It might have been better to wait. It might not.

I like to gamble sometimes.  This could turn out 100 different way, but I do know I will lole a guy at 5 a heck of a lot more than the guys available at pick 11.

If that means I lose Hall for the top WR in a strong WR class, so be it

I would have preferred the 1.1.

ETA I see in followup post you indicated you got the 3/5 and might trying to deal one for an established RB. I was actually going to say when I preferred the 1.1 that advantage to the 3/5 is if you are not making the picks they might be better utilized as trade chips. Maybe, just depends on gaga people go over 1.1 and that will depend how NFL draft goes.

Maybe I'm in the minority but I'd easily take the 1.03/1.05. The draft will have a couple of top RB prospects go to solid spots and at worst you get the top WR (which I may have taken at 1.01 anyway), and the 1.05 is a great chip. I keep hearing how bad this draft is then I look at the WRs and think they're a very good group.

To be fair, based on “everything” it’s an overpay. I get the one side has more risk but I think you downplay some of the risk on the Deebo side. Those risks have been stated already in here.

Almost said you won in a landslide but saw its SF....all comes down to Watson I guess. But Cook to Taylor and Godwin to Hill is HUGE for you.

At first glance, I thought the pick side was better.  The more I think about it the closer this looks.  I think it depends on how you think Akers will look long term.

The deal was actually 23' 1st, and the 22 1.07, I read it wrong. I agree tho, its very close and could be a bad one if akers balls out. It said 1.04 because thats where the owner picks in the 22 draft, but it is essentially random I suppose

I said “as high as” 8th overall and WR6. Per DLF, his Startup ADP currently is 13th overall and WR7 so not a whole lot of difference so I can’t agree with your off-the-cuff dismissal of Deebo being some ridiculous pick there. ADP can vary per source so let’s look at names instead:

Taylor

Jefferson

Chase

Harris

Swift

Pitts

Kupp

Lamb

AJ Brown

McCaffrey

Javonte

Metcalf

Who else would you for certain take ahead of Deebo at that point? Tyreek Hill definitely for me, probably Mixon, who else? You can make an argument for Samuel instead of Javonte for certain, AJB or Metcalf or Waddle would come down to personal preference on those WR’s IMO. Each of those guys has some similar risk factors to Samuel. I can’t see anyone not going Kupp after the year Kupp had but he does turn 29 this year which would give some pause. Cook & Ekeler getting up there for RB’s and can’t stay healthy. Chubb still has Hunt and getting up there for a RB too. Adams for sure IF we knew both he & Rodgers are staying in GB. Higgins has Chase capping his upside. Who is Diontae’s QB going to be? Henry is 28. TE required league maybe Andrews but Kelce at 33 years old? Mahomes or Allen even in a 1 QB league?

Outside of Taylor, I'm not sure I'd take any of those RBs in the 1st of a startup.  I think Deebo is in a tier behind Jefferson, Chase, and AJ.  After they're off the board, I could absolutely see Deebo taken.

Im a believer in Breece Hall, have loved him the past two years

I'd still take the top 3 rbs next year over him, and if you earned the 1.1 this year, you probably "could" earn it again next year.   Snagging Burks and olave/wilson is a Great start to a rebuild with any other pieces you have

 
These are guys I would take over Deebo (potentially a couple of them I might prefer Deebo if my team sucked and needed to rebuild).  There are also some guys who I might like Chubb, Montgomery, Ekeler, Mcclaurin., Diggs, Godwin, Adams.....

FFPC 1QB not involved and not sure if the Ridley news had come out yet or not.

Team A gave Deebo, Ridley, M Sanders, 2.11, 2.12

Team B gave Justin Jefferson, 1.09, Edmonds, Tyler Johnson

Not so fast.

First, Dynasty Dominator gives a huge advantage to the later picks (the 2.01, 3.01...). But you could say they really, really overvalue picks, so the 1.07 still is better. 

But then, this league is different. It's a six-round draft with IDP positions. It's a full IDP league, so those mid-round picks can be huge. Considering how this class tested, they're even bigger picks. 

So a drop from 7 to 13 and 25 plus a potential early third next year ain't so bad. 

I was not involved in the deal.

I don't really have a big opinion on the players in the range of 7 to 15-ish so 7 vs 13 really isn't a huge difference.  Also, being IDP, adding pick 3.01 is rather significant for those purposes.  

I get wanting 1.07 if you have a big drop off after pick 7 but I don't.

I totally agree with this.  I have 1.3 and would love to move it for 1.1.  I'm going to be stuck with Spiller or a WR.  RBs are too hard to come by.  I would always hold 1.1 unless I got a haul.

trying to get little younger and still be competitive. My RB situation is dire so I took a shot on Barkley

Gave: Tyreek Hill, Davante Adams

Got: Barkley, Devonta Smith, 1.06, 2023 2nd, 3rd

Had Hill and Adams on block/ shopped around with little interest in Hill and zero interest in Adams
