Sorry bro, I probably won't have much until draft time. All I can tell you is they really want to add a Vet WR to their team, but it doesn't appear to be in the cards. Still, the draft changes a lot, so don't be surprised if they somehow get an 'untradable' WR with their first.....I'm itching for some scoop here. Where's the Hermit?

All in all through the frustrations, I think this is a top notch front office Eagles fans are dealing with, but it just blows me away that it's taken them 10 years to realize they need to have some serious talent at the WR spot. Shame of it is if we had a bonafide #1, Curtis would be a beast at the slot. So, you're saying they're going to get Anquan Boldin?Sorry bro, I probably won't have much until draft time. So you don't think they realized that when they traded for T.O.? Or Donte Stallworth? They also used a few high draft picks on WR's....that didn't work out. They did a poor job at solidifying a good WR core but I can't see how you can say they just realized they need serious talent there. All in all through the frustrations, I think this is a top notch front office Eagles fans are dealing with, but it just blows me away that it's taken them 10 years to realize they need to have some serious talent at the WR spot. I never understand this misnomer. The Eagles used a high 2nd round pick on a WR in 2000 [McNabb's 2nd year], then followed that with a 1st rounder in 2001. They also signed Fryar, Stallworth and Owens. They used a 3rd rounder and then a 2nd rounder in two of the last three drafts, to boot. They tried signing Randy Moss to a huge deal this offseason.
In Reid's whole tenure the only WR that made a difference was TO - Every single one of Reid's WR's he drafted lacks either the size or stregnth to be sucessful in this league, and yet they kept drafting players in that mold. Even after TO played here he drafted on the small side and traded for a smallish WR in Stallworth, who they basically rented - so the whole notion that they spent high picks in 2000 and 2001 and gave it the old college try is ridicolous. I'm sorry but as an eagles fan, I'm a bit upset that 9 years into this they are still looking for a game breaker, when there window was wide open early in McNabbs career. May I also mention they signed Torrance Small, James Thrash and Gaffney. This is the one position where Reid just REFUSES to get it and all along has said hes fine with the talent he has. I mean just look at these guys. 9 guys and the best you can do is Reggie Brown, and were still praying a WR falls on our lap in 5 months. I'm not really sold that any of the first-round WR are truly first-round WR. I have no problem with them going OL/S/DL in the first couple rounds (assuming they pick up a 2 for Lito) then using a third on guy who could at least be a KR/PR for them.YET ANOTHER WIDEOUT ON PHILLY’S RADARPosted by Mike Florio on April 10, 2008, 6:17 p.m. Amid ongoing reports that the Philadelphia Eagles are taking a close look at some of the highest-rated receivers who will be available when the draft starts on April 26, we’re told that the Eagles also are looking farther down the board at one of the most intriguing prospects in the entire field.Specifically, the Eagles sent receivers coach David Culley to North Carolina for a private workout with Appalachian State receiver Dexter Jackson.Jackson ran the 40-yard dash at the Scouting Combine in a blazing 4.27 seconds. I wanted Chris Chambers over Mitchell, but was pretty dang excited about him at the time. He was one of elite WRs that year on everybody's boards. I was hoping Reggie Wayne, but like yourself was excited about Mitchell at the time. Of all the picks - Mitchell I had no problem with, but getting Freddie wrong really hurt the development of our WR group to the point where brining in TO was the only option (3 years later). I remember losing the Carolina game and the next morning wanting TO.Showing you every crappy WR the Eagles ever drafted in the Reid era isnt being pragmatic? They were fine with a WR castoff from Minnesota that they got for Billy McMullen (remember him?) and Jason Avant?? Those guys are keeping a D coordinator up all night? The lack of a powerful WR literally kept the Eagles out of the Superbowl in 2002 and 2003 - thats a pretty big deal if your a fan of the team like myself. At this point where basically looking at McNabbs last year here, and they STILL dont have a #1 WR, on a team that passes the ball 60% of the time.I wanted Chris Chambers over Mitchell, but was pretty dang excited about him at the time. This isn't the kind of player you need to smokescreen and show misdirection. LMK if you need to move some tickets, GB.On a personal level this schedule really sucks.Night games, particularly MNF or TNF are tough for me given that I would need to either get my ### back home and then to NYC a few hours later for work or take the day off; something I rarely do. Another home game is right after one of my best buddy's weddings (another guy who sits in my section) so that's outie because it's a destination wedding and we'll all be out of town.![]()
I agree.I see wins vs: Rams, Bears, Skins, Falcons, Ravens. These are the games I feel very strongly the will win.I think the can win vs: Dallas, NYG, 49ers, Seahawks, Bengals and Browns, Cards. They'll have to win 4-5 of them to make the playoffsThey'll lose to: Dallas, NYG, Skins, Pitt.that schedule doesn't look that good to me. Looking like 8-8. I think they will have do something very big in the draft/trade/FA for me to think they will be in the playoffs this year. We all know they are going to lose to San Fran heading into the bye.
Such pessimists. At worst a split with Dallas, NYG and Wash (I could easily see Wash go backwards after all the issues with finding a coach and installing new offenses and Def.)No way they lose at home to Arizona on a National game.So that gives wins vs- Rams, Bears, Skins, Falcons, Ravens, Dal, Arz, NYG- That's 8 and I think they can split the Ohio series giving them 9. Plus, like they always do, they'll win one the shouldn't (either Pitt, SEA, or sweep either Ohio or NYG or DAL)Losses to Was, NYG, DAL, SF (stupid donut game), Ohio, SEA, Pitt. But the real homer says 12-4 (win vs SF and CLE/PIT)I agree.I see wins vs: Rams, Bears, Skins, Falcons, Ravens. Ok, really hard to say but let's try:Home vs. Rams. Eagles usually start slow, but I think they can pull out a home win. (1-0).At Dallas - Tough. Very tough. If Lito is still around, I like them more just because he's a Dallas killer. Odds are a loss. (1-1).Pittsburgh - Short week, tough team, not sure if we match up well. Another slow start on the year. (1-2).At Chicago - I like the game this early. Philly goes in and cranks it up a notch. DMac plays well in his home town. (2-2).Washington - Always a close game. Depends on how Wash is playing, but I'll go for a split series for the year (although I hate the December game). (3-2).At SF - Tough trip, but they beat up on Martz' Lions last year. Can they do it again? I think they can. (4-2).BYEAtlanta - Come on, we have to beat them, right? Plus Andy's perfect after a bye. (5-2).At Seattle - Back out west. Weather getting colder. Not liking this trip. Also a trap game with the G-Men looming. (5-3).Giants - SNF - Big game. Eagles hold their own in their house. (6-3).At Cinn - Letdown possibility is high after a win vs. NYG. Cincy can light up the scoreboard. Bengals in a shootout? (6-4).At the Ravens - Baltimore / Nevermore. Ravens in a tailspin this year. (7-4).Arizona - ThNF - Thanksgiving. Arizona on a short week all the way to Philly. (8-4).At NYG - Another big game, this one goes to the home team. (8-5).CLE - MNF - Big game, but not a divisional foe or conference game. Could be a rough night. Cleveland steals one. (8-6).At Washington - Even bigger game. Division at stake (not vs. Wash, but still). Always close with the Redskins. I don't like this one here. (8-7).Dallas - HUGE game. A win here could make them a playoff team. They eek one out. (9-7).Really just a first pass and so much can happen. But 9-7 seems about right - and a few breaks could make this an 11-5 season. Of course, the opposite is also true....2008 Schedule:

They weill broadcast it on over the air network in the home markets. The same thing happens when the eagles are on ESPN, and channel 6 (abc will show itBah, I'll have to order NFLN for the Thanksgiving game. They don't carry those locally, do they?
I like him a lot. One of my top S this year. I would prefer the 4th, but the 3rd is probably where he will go.2and2is5 said:what's your guys thoughts on tommy zibikowski from notre dame in the 3rd? not the greatest safety, but was tough to be on a terrible defense, would fulfill KR/PR roles and could be very good, or even put on 10-15lbs of muscle and make a great LB, guy is an animal...
There's a good chance here that Andy will have said "I've got to put my recievers in a better position to make plays, that falls on me" four times before the bye.E-A-G-L-E-S said:I got the birds 10-6. It's a forgone conclusion that Lito is gone. No way will Lito play alongside a guy who's on the same level as him and makes 4x what he will be making this year. Samuel's signing bonus this year alone ($7MM) is almost as much as the life of Lito's 5 year extension he signed in 2004 ($8.7M - which was all upfront). He will raise all sorts of hell if he's not dealt by tranining camp and rightfully so. Banner really doesn't have much of a barganing chip given how discontent Lito is with his contract and how little value he has to this current roster with the addition of Asante.Banner publicly acknowledged that Lito is available for the right price. To my mind, that puts it just about 90% that we move Sheppard before the start of camp.

http://www.delawareonline.com/apps/pbcs.dl...S/80418026/1002PHILADELPHIA – With the NFL Draft around the corner, Eagles coach Andy Reid is still seeking options to continue building his team.
Jets defensive tackle Dewayne Robertson, a No. 4 overall pick in 2003, visited the NovaCare Complex recently to meet with the Eagles and take a physical, according to two league sources.
The Eagles can't comment on Robertson, who is still property of the Jets but became trade bait when New York switched to a 3-4 defensive alignment this off-season and signed Kris Jenkins to play nose tackle.
Robertson, listed by the Jets' Web site as 6-foot-1, 317 pounds, was also in conversations with at least four other teams, said one source, who couldn't confirm if the Eagles had made an offer to the Jets. The Eagles have 11 picks in the draft, which starts next Saturday, and could pick up more if they deal cornerback Lito Sheppard. The Denver Broncos are also reportedly seeking the sixth-year Jet's services.
It's unknown how Robertson would feel about competing for a starting job in Philadelphia. The Eagles already have two young first-round picks at defensive tackle in fourth-year left tackle Mike Patterson and third-year right tackle Brodrick Bunkley. A source also said Robertson's contract would have to be restructured.
Robertson, who signed a seven-year, $54 million rookie contract, is slated to make $6.8 million in 2008, with a $3 million roster bonus due in June and is reportedly costing the Jets $12 million against the cap.
In 2003, Robertson became the first Jets rookie defensive lineman to start every game since Marty Lyons in 1970. He has started 60 regular-season games and three playoff games. The former University of Kentucky standout has 14.5 career sacks and has never made a Pro Bowl.
I read this happened last month and the chances were very low of acquiring Robertson.DT Robertson coming in for a physical. Will add good depth to the d-line.
Why can't it be 2 AFC teams for once??? Or at least non NFC East???That means the Cowboys, Redskins or the Eagles will probably wind up with the receiver before the week is out.

The Eagles have the best bargining chip in that bunch (1.19) so you should be happy it's between those three teams. No way the Boys give up two 1st rounders for Roy. Jones is much smarter than that. Now, whether the Eagles use that bargining chip remains to be seen....What I meant was, if Roy is traded to the Boys or Skins, there is the double whammy of not getting him and having to face him twice a season for years to come. Why can't it be 2 AFC teams for once???
