Interesting.
-King Dunlap backing up Tra, not Justice.
-Juqua Parker starting at LDE, not Howard. Not Clemons.
-Laws ahead of Kimo and Reagor on the depth chart
-Lito and Sheldon JOINT 1st string RCB
and many more!
The depth chart is a fascinating exercise, in that I wonder if it will really motivate the players in question.Things that jump out at me:
RB -- Booker has been making plays all over the field, but I view the C-Buck as RB2 more a testament to Buck's seniority. I would say the only two who need to care about their place on that depth chart are Hunt and Moats, because the team's only going to keep one of them tops
WR -- With DeSean lining up with the first team in recent practices, I REALLY find it hard to accept he's behind Michael Gasperson, not sure whether this was more reflective of the situation when he was injured early in camp or if Reid is still trying to convince him the nothing is for granted
TE -- I know a lot of beat writers (and fantasy owners) have been hyping Kris Wilson but this is the 2nd time we've seen evidence that Reid isn't necessarily buying what Wilson is cooking. In his lengthy radio presser to open camp, he singled out every TE on the roster EXCEPT for Wilson and then we see Wilson listed as TE4 in the chart. With Schobel looking gassed, I still think Wilson can/will make the roster but he needs to turn it up
OL -- We REALLY need Shawn Andrews to get his head straight. While Jean-Gilles has looked good, the rest of our OL depth leaves a ton to be desired. I view King Dunlap being listed at LT2 more an incrimination of Winston Justice than an affirmation of Dunlap
FB -- Davis is listed as the starter, but it's a 3-horse race right now. I suspect Lawton wins the job b/c he's a little more versatile, although they could keep two FBs this year, too
DE -- Clemons may be a "situational pass rusher" but there's no way listing him at LDE3 isn't with the intent to motivate him. They have him behind a guy with a broken wrist. I still wonder if Darren Howard is long for this roster. It's up to Bryan Smith. If he plays his heart out, I could see the team letting Howard go.
LB -- OMG our LB depth is AWFUL

Rocky Boiman, Joe Mays and Akeem Jordan as backups? :X
DT -- Didn't we sign Dan Klecko to play fullback

Now he rates as a projected member of the DT rotation? Ugh.
CB -- Talk about being too cute for your own good. Having Lito and Sheldon listed as co-starters at RCB? C'mon now.
LS -- Could you imagine if Darren Howard actually had to be our long snapper?
