And anyone know anything about this Eckel guy they signed as a FB?Back Surgery For AndrewsOctober 22, 2008 | Last Updated: 10/22/08 11:46 AM ET | Comments (0)By: CHRIS McPHERSONHead coach Andy Reid and head athletic trainer Rick Burkholder announced that Pro Bowl guard Shawn Andrews underwent surgery on Tuesday to repair the back injury that he suffered in the Week 2 loss to Dallas. The surgery will not force Andrews to be placed on the injured reserve list. Burkholder said that the recovery time could range from six weeks to three months. In the meantime, Max Jean-Gilles will remain the starter at right guard in Andrews' absence. The surgery was performed by Dr. Robert Watkins in Marina Del Ray, Cal. Andrews is still in California at this time and will remain there for at least five days. Burkholder said that Andrews suffered the injury blocking for an extra point attempt against the Cowboys.

I can't see that. The team would have to implode. They play hard every game and have lost close games to good teams. While the heat is slowly turning up on AR, he's not in any danger yet.

Although I'll also say that this same posting could have been made about the Giants last year at this time. The talent seems to be there. The team is in every game, and has had a chance to win every game. Every loss has been to a good team. While it's unlikely the team figures it out in time for a strong playoff run, it wouldn't exactly be unprecedented if they did.Didn't the Super Bowl team also struggle a bit in the first half of the season? (I know that team went 13-3, but it also played a much softer schedule and was not particularly overwhelming teams at this point in the season.)
