Yeah, I discovered RL Burnside a few years ago through Pandora (I guess?) and love him.Good selections so far Tim. I'll add some RL Burnside to the mix:

Absolutely agree. Great description. Just love me some great blues. No other music is as visceral, as moving, as raw, as accessible yet somehow mysterious, as the blues. There is nothing better imo. Good thread.![]()
As good as a comeback as you could find. Did you know that Stevie and Johnny had the same bass player? I will take Johnny, but it's pretty damn close.Arguably the greatest blues guitarist of all time, Johnny Winter
I saw Luther Allison in college right before his lung cancer diagnosis, man what a great show.Otis Rush, Eric Clapton, and one of my all time favorites Luther Allison:
That was excellent.I just saw this at the Birchmere in D.C. last Thursday. It was really a great night.
Tab Benoit, Tommy Castro, and Samantha Fish.
Good times man...

If you like Roomful you should check out Duke Robillard. He's a fantastic blues/jazz guitarist who founded the band and since moved on to a solo career. Also, Ronnie Earl is a great blues guitarist who played with Roomful for a while. He too moved on to record many solo albums. Many of his songs are instrumentals, which I love. Both of these guys play shows all the time in the RI/MA area. One "blues" group I have always like is Room Full of Blues. Lots of brass and rich sound. Go ahead and shoot me down...
Freddie is my favorite of the three Kings. Some Freddie King for you this morning:
Great recommendation and newest addition to my Spotify artists! Been listening to a lot of Gary Clark, SRV and Joe B. lately.Melvin Taylor is inexplicably unheralded in the blues scene. For the life of me I don't know why. Great electric blues player with a great feel for groove, and a smooth, soulful voice. Here's a link to his full album, "Plays the Blues for You". It's one of my favorite blues albums. First song is a slower instrumental jam to get things warmed up. The groove picks up on track 2.
