By the way, Jake E Lee was the "guest artist" when I attended the That Metal Show taping a couple of years ago, and that guitar hero kid is a better guitarist than Lee is at this point. He's lost it.

 
Don't know where else to post this, so:

Just saw Gojira at The Warfield in SF last Friday. I think this is the best band in the world. You have to go check them out. Just a flawless, super-heavy show. Brilliant. The tour dates can be viewed here, and I am begging y'all to see them live. Amazing musicians!

I haven't seen them live.  Couldn't make it to Houston, but you're right, one of the best bands on the planet.  It's hard to explain how good they are.

just checking out this band this week.  I like how they play with the dynamics and also mix up the vocal stylings.  I like heavy music but too much screaming and guttural vocals in song after song is a little much for me.  I like that they do different things with the vocals.

L'Enfant Sauvage, wow.  That song will ####### blow you apart, man.

Wow, that's out there. I heard this on Sirius and thought the song was cool and got a laugh out of the band name and song title. But that's some ####ed up lyrics. What the hell kind of crowd does this band attract? And that gets broadcast?

The new Magma CD has less hardcore vocals. Check out Shooting Star.

Tongue in cheek? I don't think so. It's meant to shock and repulse and succeeds greatly. I do like the music but I just can't accept the lyrics in any humorous or dismissive way. If that means the scene has passed me by, so be it. I don't need that in my music.

It's entirely a joke.

watch some of the videos like Decapitation Fornication and you will see how goofy they are.

its very clearly a joke band

they are goofing on the whole scene not promoting their lyrical content.

it would be like saying Beavis and Butthead was serious and not satire
