I don't always listen to "hair metal" , but when I do I listen to Motley Crue.I'm not telling my metal head friends, but I'm kinda psyched about the Motley Crue biopic...
I never listen to hair metal.I don't always listen to "hair metal" , but when I do I listen to Motley Crue.
I guess my favorite hair metal band was Whitesnake.I don't always listen to "hair metal" , but when I do I listen to Motley Crue.
I've heard of death metal bands who listen to the beatles so you are probably right.I never listen to hair metal.
But any metal head over 45 years old that claims they never listened to hair metal is lying.
Speaking of which, John Sykes' solo project Blue Murder was pretty great.I guess my favorite hair metal band was Whitesnake.
I wore out that self titled cassette.I guess my favorite hair metal band was Whitesnake.
Apparently, the Deftones were into Depeche Mode.I've heard of death metal bands who listen to the beatles so you are probably right.
Great tone from what I remember from whitesnake
there are metal heads under 45?I never listen to hair metal.
But any metal head over 45 years old that claims they never listened to hair metal is lying.
shout at the devil, pyromania, metal health and van halen put hair metal on the map to stay....for about 6 years.....and it burned out fast....
I still spin too fast for love and shout at the devil all the time....and home sweet home....
It certainly was.... @Evilgrin 72 need a ruling![]()
Van Halen was not hair metal.
Sorry, but it just wasn't.It certainly was.... @Evilgrin 72 need a ruling
Yep, the new record is sounding good so far. Pretty rocking and heavy overall.Might be easy listening for some of you, but Dream Theater has a new album out

just because eddie could play didn't mean it wasn't glammy/hair metal......their lyrics were not deep and meaningful (until Sammy joined the band)....and DLR is pretty much who every hair metal front man tried to be to the nth degreeSorry, but it just wasn't.

Okay, but none of those things means VH was hair metal. I have never seen anyone call VH hair metal until now. While some of the hair metal bands got started in the early 80's, hair metal was basically a later 80's thing (Bon Jovi, Whitesnake, Poison, Ratt, Motley Crue, etc.), and no one would ever call Van Hagar hair metal.just because eddie could play didn't mean it wasn't glammy/hair metal......their lyrics were not deep and meaningful (until Sammy joined the band)....and DLR is pretty much who every hair metal front man tried to be to the nth degree

VH heavily influenced the genre....agree on Hagar....VH with DLR is a founding father of hair metal....way too awesome and cool to be lumped in with poison and ratt, but those guy warren and CC could actually play hell the one dude was classically trained at NYUOkay, but none of those things means VH was hair metal. We have a solid local metal scene, and most of the people in the pit are pretty young.bicycle_seat_sniffer said:there are metal heads under 45?
Actually there are quite a lot of really good hair metal guitarists. George Lynch from Dokken was awesome, and even Winger's guitar player was good. Of all the popular hair metal bands it's actually harder to find guitar players who weren't good.those guy warren and CC could actually play hell the one dude was classically trained at NYU
Gary Neuman too...….jdoggydogg said:Apparently, the Deftones were into Depeche Mode.
Best Dream Theater album in a long time...Yep, the new record is sounding good so far. Pretty rocking and heavy overall.![]()
I can't say that, but in the spirit of this thread, I can say that it is definitely one of their four heaviest records to date (along with Awake, Train of Thought and the self-titled record). This song is slamming:Best Dream Theater album in a long time...
Oh hell yes. The hair metal guitarists can play circles around any modern guitar players. Lynch. DiMartini, Nuno, Beach, Jake E. Lee, Vito Bratta etc.Actually there are quite a lot of really good hair metal guitarists. George Lynch from Dokken was awesome, and even Winger's guitar player was good. Glad I got to see Gojira a few times in the clubs. I think those days are going to be over.Slipknot is headlining a tour with Gojira, Volbeat, and Behemoth opening.
I was pretty psyched to see this show, but it's at The Shoreline Amphitheater. Anyone in Northern Cali knows how much that place sucks :(
Yeah. Saw Pallbearer open for Gojira at the UC Theater in Berkeley, and that place is nice and small. It's stadiums for Gojira from now on.Glad I got to see Gojira a few times in the clubs. I think those days are going to be over.

When I was around 11 (back in 1978), I was into The Beatles, Simon and Garfunkle, Johnny Cash, etc. But then one day I bought Master of Reality just because the art was cool. My life, as you can see, was never the same. One of my favorite genres of metal, going all the way back to this.
