For kicks - Here is the portrait I last had up at Match 3 years ago. Cheesy? Of course - but it worked well for me

have mixed feelings about this whole online dating thing. Some aspects are great and some are… well, less than great. Anyway, my commercial goes something like this: I'm intelligent (but not quite a genius - damn Mensa test!) caring and have a sense of humor that ranges from the sarcastic/dry and witty to the absurd. I like to go out on occasion but I'm well past spending the majority of my nights out whooping it up. My batteries are better recharged at home or hiking or doing something alone or with that certain someone (hiking, museums, beaches, foreign cities - you name it). I am also in the process of trying to make my shack, complete with scenic mud pit, into a nice home. I still go out on the town with some frequency but I don't find myself nervously twitching if I find myself at home on a Friday night instead of out at the bar. I'm an excellent cook - more "down-home" than gourmet and I firmly believe that recipes are loose guidelines not strict mandates (and that analogy can be used to other aspects of my life as well). I lead an active lifestyle but I’m not an extreme sport kind of person most of the time. I keep in decent shape and sometime in the last five years I somehow stumbled from having a job to a career - go figure.The ideal woman. Ideal. That's tough. Don't really know that I can nail that down until I meet her but I do have an idea (I'm just missing the "L"). I'm pretty sure that the woman I'm looking for is intelligent without being condescending, active but not compelled to be constantly doing something; and in shape but not a fitness maniac. She's got a good sense of humor and makes me want to make her smile and laugh as much as possible. She's open minded, aware and caring of other people and the "other side of the story" and can equally enjoy a deep conversation about the meaning of life or a completely shallow conversation about marshmallows…. or toads… or bodily functions. I mean, who doesn’t like a good conversation about bodily functions? That said, finding the perfect match right this minute would be nice but it isn’t a necessity. Going out, having fun and taking things as they come is just fine and dandy. for fun:I like to have fun! Sorry, but I read that so much in profiles I thought it was mandatory. Hiking, camping, reading, video games, gardening (novice), playing pool, softball, robbing trains, and more. my religion:I have strong values and sense of morality but have issues with certain aspects of organized religion. Spirituality needs to come from within, not from what someone tells you to think. If you are a Christian fundamentalist it's best you move on. favorite hot spots:For nightlife, I'm more a bar guy than a dance club guy. I like "joints". Places with character. As for profile help (about me section) I think i could definitely use some help. So if you guys have a min (bankerguy, Woz, Otis, Early10, Krista, anyone else), here is some background information on me..what do you guys think i should use/shouldnt..how would you word it?

-25 year old single male

-own a townhouse on a golfcourse in a suburb of Chicago - rent my two spare bedrooms to long time friends

- Graduated college with double major in Finance and Marketing with Honors - Work as an investment analyst and currently studying for CFA

- Play in 4-5 basketball leagues during winter/fall and Im currently playing in 3 softball leagues and play in 1 in the fall

- During summer enjoy going out on buddys boat, slolem skiing, drinking while cruising up and down the river stop at bars on the river...enjoy camping or anything else outdoors

- Enjoy going to bars and hanging out, just sick of trying to find a girl there...ready to settle down in the right situation presents itself

- Very close to my family (parents live 20 min away, sister and my newphews 10 min away, and hang out with my younger bros on the weekends alot)

- LIsten to any music, but mostly country. Country Thunder and Jimmy Buffett concerts are the best..

- do not mind staying in during the weekends and just watching a movie - dont need to go out and drink all the time

I know it turns me off a little when I see women looking for +$75k (even though I qualify... I am a FBG afterall). Was wondering if women feel the same way about age...

Or if you do, why not make the range a little broader but just ignore contacts who are outside of your "real" range? I think that would be a wiser move. Apparently I'm more difficult than Mrs. BSR.

Sounds like the answer may be yes. I pushed it up to 35 a few minutes ago and will probably go further. I just figured out that I can have multiple searches saved anyway. The "primary" is the only one that shows up on the profile.

OK....here is my update."38D's"....After an amazing weekend of well......you know. We have agreed to stop seeing each due to the distance. "Tiny Shy Blonde"- Can't figure this chick out.
