Katie - Had my first date with Katie last night. This one has some potential. Very outgoing and fun. She definately likes to talk, but not the typical chick type talking. I didn't say much last night. Very interesting and has a great sense of humor. I was giving her a hard time and she was bustin my balls right back. I am just getting back into the swing of things. My update is lame but here it goes:"Hot Cougar" = Friend with benefits"Has Potential" - Been out twice with her very casually. We talk and email each other daily. I can see if things go well on out next few dates that I will be off the market again. Very cute and well spoken...she makes me happy in my pants. "Sporty out of town chick"- Came into town went for a light dinner and some cosmic bowling. Went back to my place after and was rounding second base only to find the stop sign. She has promised a wilder date the next time we get together.There are about 4 other I am chatting with including a very hot blond who just got separated. She actually still lives with him until their house closes. That's it for now....

I signed up earlier this week and not sure also if I like the format. I am getting alot of matches but they are from 3-4 states away. I set my preference at 60 miles. I am also finding most of the pictures, if they even have any, are the dreaded upper body shots. We all know what that means. I am in for 3 months, so we will see what happens.

It really really sucks, I guess if you are desperate and will take whomever they think is your soulmate then you are good to go. But hell I normally like to skim through AT LEAST a few dozen profiles with pics and pick and choose who is up to my standards. The only positive I can see in this format is that the truly hot chicks do NOT get flooded with inquiries from guys since it is impossible for the guys to find said hotties. So if one does pop up on my screen hopefully I can "FastTrack" it (whatever the hell that means).

BTW--on Summerfest girl--about three days after she "dumped" me via e-mail, she started putting "i'm in love" status updates on Facebook. It's not my style. I got communications open with 9 prospects, so I am giving it a chance. What is interesting is that each person can set at what stage their photo becomes available so people end up making more connections since the whole yes/no visual vote happens at a later stage. I think I need to change my criteria. I think it is currently set for 120 miles and I really need to tighten the range up. I think if I found the ideal girl sure I would give 120 miles a shot, but the prospects I am communicating with - especially at that distance are borderline to me. Plus the whole process seems too drawn out - IMO you cannot develop the right kind of chemistry via written communications. The best kind of chemistry happens more real time where you can properly interpret all of the non-verbal cues. I think I aced it - after looking over my profile I liked what I saw. I will share that here or maybe underground, it is nothing too personal or juicy (I don't think) so I will probably just dump here. If you try to search for "new" matches it comes up empty every single time. I am an analyst and would prefer to comb through 50 profiles then look over the 5 each day they "suggest" to me.

The only one I think is a stretch is the last one. I always thought of myself as an introvert, but maybe I am coming around as being more outgoing. There are other people that definitely have to talk out their thoughts to reach a decision which is what I would classify a true extrovert.

as a long time lurker, this advice seems to be spot on. The guys that have the most hooks in the water seem to pull the biggest fish (after tossing back the eels)

It is, but I actually like it more than match. For me, anyway, more quality matches, and a better success rate.Called Date2 back today, explained the situation (only the third RL person who I've told). Incredibly supportive, and gave me her e-mail address and made me promise to e-mail her in a year.Very cool chick.

Not sure if you are familiar with eHarmony but the question stage has a bunch of stock questions you can choose from that have multiple choice answers (you can write in an answer as the last option).

I have two others in the open communication stage which I am just gonna put on hold and see what happens with this one. One of them is near philly which is way too far, if I was into her more I would pursue but I don't think it is worth the effort. The other is in nyc which I will probably send her another note tomorrow and find out how her weekend was but stall a little bit to see how this one plays out.

Yeah, I kind of dropped it after that. I also got the impression that she enjoyed myspace public attention, which I'm not into at all.
