***OFFICIAL*** FFA MLB Draft (1 Viewer)

since there are fewer dummy teams than there are divisions, they should be competitive teams, not joke teams, imo.
I'd personally rather not see a dummy team win this thing, but I understand your point.
we could limit them to roughly the same salary cap that the post-94 teams are seeing. around $150mm, rather than $255mm. i don't see a team like that winning, maybe a 1% chance to win a division.
I don't like this idea at all.

Was it too much to ask for guys to sign up using their footballguys.com username or at least a recognizable derivation of it? I don't know who half of the guys are....
Seriously.

ummm....start drafting pitchers again!.... :hot:
Pitchers are the running backs of this draft...unless you plan on taking those guys from the 1800's that pitched every day, thus ruining the spirit of the draft. Don't pull a LeBron on us....
I'll take a guy that produces 5 out of 5 days over a guy that produces 1 out of 5 days (or 1 inning out of 9) any day of the week....don't care how much you want to say great pitching beats great hitting. The kind of great hitting available early in the draft will not be available later....and as far as the old timers....ummmm, you took Cy Young you *******.Oh, I meant select pitchers. That's what I'll do if you guys don't gobble them up now. Really, I mean that.
Cy Young doesn't count and as far as your "i'll take the guy who produces 5 out of 5 days argument" goes, it's moot, because Cy is starting every game for me."Who starts for Nipsey?""Cy Young.""Who starts game two for Nipsey?""Cy Young.""Wow, that series is over. Nipsey wins."
Better work on the eephus pitch then cuz I don't think Cy is gonna put it past modern era hitters very effectively, especially on zero days rest.
THE OLDER PLAYERS GET MODERN "JUICE". EVERYONE KNOWS THIS. DON'T GIVE ME THE OLDER/MODERN ERA ARGUMENT. IT WON'T FLY HERE."Who starts for Nipsey in game 3?""Cy Young.""Who starts for Nipsey in game 4?""Cy Young.""Damn. Nipsey can't lose.""Who starts for Pickles game one?""Oil Can Boyd.""Ouch."
:rotflmao: :rotflmao: so you still planning on starting Cy every day?

the way my club is looking, it may happen. I'm going to sim #2 now if you want a shot at stieb...

Ty Cobb was good..he shouldn't have fell this far.I certainly would've taken him over Cy ####ing Young.
"Nipsey's playing Funkley, who's Nipsey got pitching?""Cy Young.""Ouch""Yeah, but Funkley's got Ty Cobb""Double Ouch"DOWN GOES NIPSEY!!!
At least I can masturbate without shame, Larry Boy.....
:rotflmao: pages 8-20 or so, with the Cy v. Lefty stuff, and the Joey Belle :rotflmao: situation is some of the funniest #### the FFA has ever seen. :rotflmao:

anybody want to play? Also WTF do half of the teams in our league have unrecognizable user names?
I had registered a long time ago over there and didn't want to sign up for another dummy gmail account.

2 games against Bogart last night and I went from feeling :pickle: :headbang: about my team to   .
Given my unconventional strategy, I went from feeling  to :pickle: Played 4 games and went 3-1. Koufax got rocked in the first game, but he was going up against the #1 pick in the draft, Walter Johnson and it was an away game.Played Pumpnick again, at home this time, and scored a late come from behind 2-1 win. I pulled Ryan after 5 innings of no hit ball for a 2 out pinch hitter with runners on. It failed, but I went on to win. Then Carlton owned Koya in his own ball park and I won 2-0.Then Jim Bunning kept crossing up Doug B's team in his own ball park and Hoffman and Forster stopped a late rally to preserve a 4-3 win.

Killebrew and Foxx went cold in the two games and my hitting fell apart around them. My best hitter yesterday was Goose Goslin. I bet he hit 7 home runs in the 15 or so games I simmed. Overall, I won 11 times but 3 of those wins were against crappy computer teams. Probably even in the games against our league. Almost everyone's team looks scary to play though.

That game is the only blemish in an 8-1 streak the Voodoo is on. Started off 3-11 in the sims ... now W-L record is 11-12.You were right -- I shoulda walked Stephens :(

you don't like much of anything, except deadball-era pitchers. i'm not sure how you achieve a fair divisional structure when some have joke teams and some don't......unless capella can set up the 2 leagues to play a balanced schedule (the way MLB used to do it), and put 2 joke teams in each league. then it would probably work out fair for all 16 teams.

He burnt you twice. In the second inning, I believe Cap Anson led of with a hit or a walk, Ted Simmons bunted him over to second, Colavito committed a crime by striking out, so Stephens came up with 2 outs and 1st base open. You didn't intentionally do it, but Stephens walked bringing up the pitcher with two outs. Bunning then burned you by hitting an RBI single. So then in the 4th Stephens again comes up with two outs and a runner in scoring position. I wondered if you would intentionally walk him or not given that Bunning burnt you two innings before, but you let Stephens hit and he scored an RBI single. Two BIG runs in a 4-3 win. However I did commit a huge mistake with Bunning. I saw his strength drop to 99% in the top of the 6th and was going to yank him for a pinch hitter cause he was due to hit second in the bottom of the inning. But Stephens led off by getting on the first, so I left Bunning in to bunt him over to second. Stephens was left stranded. First batter in the top of the 7th was Ted Klusewski - game tying Home run. Oops.

Can anyone else get into Tangent right now? Just tried and got a 'couldn't locate server' message.
INI gotta get in on these live games, I chose to do something else last night though. It was close but I wound up making the right decision. :brush:

You put two post-1994 teams in the division which has no joke team. Everything else will sort itself out.Don't blame me for your bad idea.

:rotflmao: :rotflmao: it is hilarious how he complained about people taking pitchers from the 1800s, then ends up with 9 deadballers.I'm stil thinking about the divisions. Not sure what we can do that is completely fair to everybody.

Why don't you just use the seedings Oso and others are providing and make the all-time teams 1-16, make the 3 modern teams 17-19, and make the 5 scrub teams 20-24. So you'd get 1,12,13,24...2,11,14,23...3,10,15,22...4,9,16,21...5,8,17,20...6,7,18,19.The only other fair way to do it is to create 4 pots (2 of just pure all time teams, 1 with 4 all-time and 2 modern, and the last one with the last modern and 5 scrub teams) and select divisions based on those pots.

another good idea.I liked the subtle brilliance of pulling names out of a hat though. Isn't that how the old AFL got started?

I was glued. Kinda like watching the NBA lottery selection.

Have the seedings been released or secret?
I think you should just go with Oso's seedings. The guy puts some serious man hours into that effort. Koya - thx again for letting me get my first win(s) in the live matchups. You really bolstered my spirits.Go Jason Schmidt!Go Vlad!Go Eric Gagne!

Oso hasn't posted them for public consumption AFAIK ... but he's talked about them so far....

Koya, your team cold on the sims today? You were owning me Sunday.
