***OFFICIAL*** FFA MLB Draft (13 Viewers)

200 pages. You didn't ruin my day Koya. I still like you.....Dr J's real pissed at you though.....Gilmore too.
Dont mess with the Gilmore stuff. I really wanted him to drop to me. My plan to have unreal talent all over sort of.. well... didnt work. :bag: Dr. J is a Nipsey loving ##### anyways. Ever since Nipsey brown nosed him while they sat in that luxury box at the Lakers game.

That was Magic....

He ruined a lot of friendships as well.
Gosh I wouldn't go that far.....it was just a draft.
No, there were guys who swore never to speak with him again, some of them he had been posting with for years. One of them even had met Koya at one point for a burger and a beer. That's all gone now.
:rotflmao:
Dont laugh at my pain. :hot:
Not laughing at your pain. Laughing at Nipsey's.

Capella, can you please change the thread's subtitle to read "post-padding thread".TIA ;)
Agreed. Koya, knock it off.
 Aahh...the Nipsey / Koya fisticuffs. I fondly remember those going back to the Jai Alai draft...
Koya ruined that one too by drafting that 14 year old Mexican. What was his name again? Something like "Jupertino"....

Only because I get to talk to Nipsey here. :bag: (I was like 5th on the list when this thing was a week old. Somehow I have had some good productive work weeks, too. Odd that)

Hey, hope you like the team. Last time we talked was 4th round I think. :bag:
No, chief...like I said: it's your team.I just wanted to help out for a little since work was slow....unfortunately, that 'slowness' didn't last long.Good work  It would have been better had you been able to pick Jupertino, but them's the breaks.

Jupertino would be perfect for that club too. Just has a cannon from the outfield. Can't run on that cesta.

So does anybody actually talk about baseball in this thread or has this become a clique board inside of a thread?
shoot. Id prefer to talk baseball.
How 'bout them Dodgers?(Happy now mother ####er?)
I miss Dodger Stadium. One of the best places to watch a game.Plus, they had Yoshinoya at the ballpark. And would let you #### up the field on the last day of the saeason. Can't agree with letting Beltre go.

I HATE Dodgers stadium. Place has no character. Miss Yankee stadium and Fenway a lot. Pac Bell is great too. Dodger stadium is a pit.

Really? With the backdrop of the mountains, looking out - the sky as backdrop. It was a blue heaven... built into the hill. Loved it (the stadium itself isnt anything good, but how it is cut in, and the view you have of the field leading to the mountains backed by that blue, was a transcendant experience. Or maybe it was those brownies I ate? Or the yoshinoya).Of course, my home stadium here is Shea. A sewage treatment plant has more appeal than Shea.Pac Bell was very cool - mostly because of the water. Cold as hell though late season. My favorite is still Camden - the original neo-old style stadium. Ever been?

Never been to Camden. Dodger stadium and Shea are on the same level for me.

haven't really followed all of the Bonds v Thomas debate, and i'm sure LB44 oversells his point, but he probably does have a good point somewhere in there.

Baseball Prospectus is on the leading edge of baseball analysis. They use or have created a number of metrics by which we can compare player performance.

I looked up the numbers for Bonds & Thomas during the 90s.

Equivalent Average - an rate statistic of overall prowess at-the-plate

Thomas comes out ahead 5 of the 10 years: 90*-91, and 94-97

* 1990 was FT's first season, and he had only 191 ABs.

Equivalent Runs - an counting stat of overall prowess at-the-plate

Again, Thomas leads in 5 of 10 years: 91, 92, 94, 95, and 99

So, at the plate in the 90s, it's pretty even. Overall, of course, counting baserunning and defense, Bonds is clearly the better player.

I am mixed on Fenway. Overall, its great because you are experiencing what they experienced, in many ways literally, from the early 20th c. On the other hand, because of that, those seats can be damn uncomfortable.

I saw #703 from Bonds when I visited my friends in SF. :D Extra cold, and a tough loss to the Dodgers for the Giants.
