***OFFICIAL*** FFA MLB Draft (4 Viewers)

Koya just reminded me that I have a link in my bookmarks that ALREADY has the Win Shares per IP for all pitchers with at least 2,000 career IP.That'll work for most of the starters in this draft. Still, we'll have to find a way to get the rest.
We probably want some cut off for IP's, although I would not know what that might amount to. I can think of a couple guys not drafted that may have been a flash in the pan, and others who were great for such a short period, but not aronud long enough to warrant inclusion here. I would think starting 25 games for 5 years at a minimum, maybe 20 or 30 for 7 years... how many innings is each?

:crickets:(should we move past LastResort. At this point, worst case scenario is someone picks after the rest finish).

There are many "valid" guys that have less than those cutoffs you used. There's no reason to have cutoffs--we can just examine the IP for the guys that we have chosen to draft.

I am just bringing up the discussion. If you have a reliever that had one or two great years and quickly melted into oblivion, they should not be lumped in with say a pitcher that has done it, starting, for years - with maybe 10 times the numbers of innings pitched. We can always have the list by total win shares and also averaged to give a little context. However, to be considered amongst the best ever, you should have some floor as to what makes a player eligible. 27 great innings pitched does not a career make!

Lastresort has used up his four hours and more.Of source, Spock hasn't been in at all today, either. :(

We had some good energy this morning - seemed people were excited to have full teams. Hopefully we can get that back as we get moving on the writeups, FFA, sims and other votes. Is Oso going to spend time on the seeding committee? Do we have anyone else? Not sure how we plan on the FFA portion of this. We cant let wrestling overcome the great national pastime! :D

Nipsey, are you sticking with Bancroft as you Rd 24 pick?

Looked up his stats ... not bad at all. Switch-hitter, to boot.
I'll keep him, was looking at him and another, seem like the same guy.

Nipsey we need some art work or something in here, this thread is waning. Something to boost moral.

I booked a national commercial for Chili's this morning....does that help boost the morale? It worked for me.... :pickle:

Nice work Capella. You created a beast that will never be matched in length. 220 pages is a mark that I don't believe will ever be broken.

That is until the All-time NFL draft thread....

Won't happen. Baseball has a much longer history, and it is more hard stats based which makes drafting easier. However, there would be more debate.I wish I had the time you guys had. GDB classes and sports.

Most of us are taking this thread for a GED credit, so in a sense it's like a class.
Oh enough with your grandstanding you arrogant #####. I'm auditing this for my work release program.
Just because I'm using the credit for my GED doesn't mean I'm not in prison....

There you go again, one-upping me. I suppose you acted as your own attorney too.

My pitchers have been instructed to start a bean-ball war w/ Koya's team. The same way Bill Laimbeer was instructed to break Lebron in half if we played them.

I didn't, but Mark Gregaros didn't do me any good anyway.

is it just me or does that guy lose every case he takes? his reputation can't be much worse right now. first time i saw this guy was on geraldo's old show. that can't be good.

I'm with you on this. Koya's NBA team deserved to get whooped because of that LeBron pick that ruined Capella's a few teams drafts. In baseball it seems he's done in essence the same thing with all his WS fishing. Shame on you Koya for missing the point of yet another draft and ruining Capella's a few teams in this thing.

She could have done that on her own. I think the high-profile lawyer only added to her misery.

He does stink though. Don't understand why he gets the money he does. Gotta be better guys available....

When are we doing the all-time Criminal defense attorney draft? I got mad sleepers for that one...

Clearly a first rounder but not #1 overall. Remember, this is an ALL-TIME draft.
I like his flash, and patent disregard for ethics.F. Lee is a little too curmudgeony for my taste. Clarence Darrow is probably the consensus #1, though.
And Koya, please no Sum Fishing for this draft....Question is, where would Brokovich go (WWBG?)? Nice having a female on the staff and people know her. She goes before the Menendez attorney?

Bottom line is this: No matter where I pick in the first round (including pick #1), if Alan Dershowitz is on the board, I'm going to have a tough time passing on him....

I think he's overrated. Claus von Bulow made that guy.. that's about it.

I want my baby back baby back baby back..
It's the same spot except this time they're not using N'sync, they're using our band. (O-Town)
I love O-Town. Which one are you?
The hot one.
Do you really sing "So sexy, come on Steve-O, Talkin' 'bout butterflies in my head"?By the way the last five pages have been some of the most entertaining in the FFA in weeks.

You're crazy. That guy's a five-tool lawyer.

I don't actually sing it, but yeah, that's me.

I guess he swung a movie deal. That's hella impressive. The academic thing could be good and bad. He was virtually transparent in the OJ trial, however.

Cochran wouldn't let him carry the ball....

I think that's a bad sign for "The Dersh."His lack of charisma isn't gonna help either.
