I think there are between 3-8 dummy teams that need to be filled for WIS. That could keep everyone busy for a while...There are a ton of guys that probably deserved being drafted. Dave Kingman, anyone?(what would really be interesting is fielding an all time team of players not drafted in this draft. I am also surprised that Ray Schalk was not drafted. Poor offensive numbers, but the guy could win games with his D behind the plate. He was my other option when I went with Bubbles, but I wanted the O' - was even considering carrying three catchers because of Schalks Defense.
Faber, Newcombe, and Johnson were taken. I was seriously wavering between McGriff and Delgado. I guess Delgado has better top-line numbers, but this is a career draft and McGriff had the better career. I think people forget just how good he was early in his career in SD.There's also George Foster (who I like more than Kingman). The only 3 guys I see in the Top 50 HR that we missed are Canseco, Baines, and Joe Carter. We also missed Pendleton and Groat, but they were more fringe picks that weren't specialized enough in any one thing. I think we dd pretty well overall. I would be up for that sometime down the road. See if we can get as many original drafters as possible.It would be interesting to see who rises and who drops - although it seemed we had pretty good consistency.
