*** OFFICIAL *** FFA WAGERING THREAD - Merry Christmas!!! (13 Viewers)

Hey kids, why the long faces?

Anyway, got home Monday from 10 days in Omaha at the CWS.  I had never been before and I don't know if I will ever get a chance to go back.  It's pretty damn cool if you are a baseball fan.  However, outside of watching baseball and drinking, there is nothing to do in Omaha.

Astros -150. McCullers is 4-0 at home, while Pineda sucks on the road.

When you yankee bastards coming to Houston?

@TheGooRoo / @TheGooRoo. you guys hitting Wood over 6.5k? Has that fishy look to it...

Shafikov at +500 or better tonight is value. Easter's probably gonna take it, but worth a small flyer. Interestingly enough, they both have close split-decisions against the same opponent, Richard Commey. Both were really good fights. But Easter's the A-side here, and will likely be treated as such by the judges.

No play for me

I don't understand how she is still going to play there.

But this thread is about winning, or do you think, this is a bad bet or untort?

They didn't even try to make it look good. Dumb sport.

So @hooter311, is NASCAR gonna make sure Junior wins his last race at Daytona?

Side note - keep an eye on the weather.  Decent chance rain. We have had tstorms last 4 nights just up the road in JAX. .

You can count on there being plenty of water bottles laying around...

There is so much dead money coming in on Dale its fascinating.  I don't think the Toyotas can keep up in a race like this, Joe Gibbs' team has never gone this long in the season without a win.  Give me any "A" level driver above 12-1, preferably closer to 20.  Looking at what I have available....Kurt Busch +1600, Jimmie Johnson +1400,  Clint Bowyer +1600 with a sprinkle of a couple longshots because weather and restrictor plates puts literally every car on the track in play.

Golf:

Quicken Loans:  Field -140 over David Lingmerth

The line that shouldn't be crossed is gamblers addressing athletes regarding the outcomes of their dumb bets.  Nothing on twitter makes me cringe more, and much respect to the athletes that can rise above that.

You shouldn't expect them to care about your money, and they shouldn't expect you to care more than the outcome of the event.  If that understanding is kept there is no reason for conflict.

Thoughts on Stenhouse at +2500?

Seems about right, but doesn't stand out.  Before his win at Dega, I rec'd him at +7000 for the Daytona 500 at the beginning the of the season..  Think the value starts at 30-1 or so.

Physical confrontation at Mayweather/McGregor press conference.

No -280

Even if 100's of millions of dollars wasn't stopping them, you don't let the other guy establish his reach.  I don't think they get within 10 feet of each other.

My only play to win so far was a small one on Bayne +8000 pre-qualifying.  Seeing 50-1 now at 5dimes.

Does the confrontation have to between them? Or just the dudes in each of the respective camps? While i think  you are right in that these two dont get within 10 feet of each other, i guess a couple of their goons could in the name of protecting their guy.

I can't go along with this just because I know that both parties know that a shove would sell x more ppv's, and both are completely fine with that.

Yup July 1 is Canada day, it's their July 4th, big party day

Agree.  The press conference is part of the promotion.  McGregor is no stranger to press conference shenanigans, it's actually the norm for him, and this is his biggest stage ever.  I'd be shocked if they didn't get next to each other for photos, watch the mayweather/ packyow conference.  There won't be any haymakers, but they could certainly get within each others space, and what would sell more PPV?  a quiet presser where they stay 20 feet apart, or in each others face pretending like the fight is ready to happen now?  For value, dog or pass.

They have to physically touch each other on camera.

We did Niagara On The Lake last October (wine country... about 30-45 min drive down to the falls).  Stayed in a bed and breakfast and the downtown was really cool.  Much better than tourist trap falls.  The best part of visiting the falls was me yapping about the casino and wife agreeing to go to Vegas if I'd just shut up about it
