Thread bump for Interlagos this weekend including a Saturday sprint.

It's a great track that has hosted many historic races. There's rain in the forecast for Saturday with cool temperatures for the Grand Prix on Sunday.

It was one of the coolest features for F1 TV, especially for new viewers who can go get all the old classic races.

Alpine will have Mercedes PUs next season which is supposedly going to be the hot ticket.

The sprint could be unpredictable because of the incoming weather but Verstappen will need to do something special on Sunday to stay in the WDC race.

Well, maybe not ovah...

But, he does need a strong Quali today, and as long as he can keep the car on the track tomorrow, he has a shot.

Verstappen though is now 39 points back, and whatever upgrades gave the Red Bull a better car for a few races seems to have gone away.


Good sprint from Lando, and I thought Kimi had a strong race as well - really had to hold off Russell at the re-start, even if he could not close the gap to Norris for a chance at the lead.

Well that was interesting

It's funny how the summertime narrative of Piastri's stability vs Norris' fragility has been turned on its head recently. A lot can happen in four grands prix but Lando has his mitts on the title.

It's been an odd weekend with big performance swings between sessions which makes predicting tire strategies difficult. I saw that Ferrari ran only hards in FP1 and their lap times were 1.5 sec off the pace. Most everybody used an extra set after the red flag in the sprint race too.
