Last night I tried to make an initial ranking of all the scientific discoveries taken so far and my head exploded. I hate you all.

How is this not serious? It's one of the most discussed plays in professional sports history. Sure, it goes against what most think when they read the category but it's a term that is well known in American Football and deserves to be chosen.

So when you think of "The Immaculate Reception," what comes to mind?

Controversy.

Why? I'm willing to bet you've seen this play more than any of the other selections in the category. People know who the main players involved were and know the impact of that single play. It seems short sighted for people to dismiss it so quickly.

There was huge controversy around the play. Was it legal, was it not legal? Should it count? Was discussed and discussed for years. Hence....controversy.

The picks of mine that have caused problems - The Bill of Rights and Baseball by Ken Burns - I argued for my side as I would in any discussion turned debate. That part is half the fun of this (one of the reasons I said long ago that I wouldn't change a pick because winning the argument was just as important to me). I have had no problems at all with our disagreements. Misfit Blondes is doing something different here, and I'm not going to engage what I believe is a mockery of the draft. I'm not going to argue his pick, or discuss it in any way, other than vetoing it.
