Huh?Wasn't the four minute mile the first thing taken? This is an interesting pick. I think the problem we will have is that it opens a can of worms of drafting "former" records that have since been beaten because we don't like how they were beaten. According to baseball records, this is Bonds' recrod - there is no asterick, there is no secondary explanation. It's Bonds' record.33.15 - Hank Aaron's 755 Career Homeruns - Sports Record
No explanation really needed here. One of the greatest records in all of sports.
WTF thought the category was only for current records?
That wouldn't make much sense.
Bob Beamon jumping 2 1/2 feet farther than any other human being had ever done before was astounding.
Nobody cares that 20+ years later somebody went farther (was it Carl Lewis?).

I don't think sports records need to be permanent to be selected. There were guys who broke the 4 minute mile almost immediately after Bannister. I think we should look at each individual record by itself, within it's own context. Even if a player were to someday hit 1000 home runs over a career, this would make THAT player great, but it wouldn't diminish Aaron any. Aaron's record, given his circumstances and among his peers, remains one of the great moments in sports no matter what happens later. This is an interesting pick. I haven't been paying much attention to this category at all..... but are we saying we can draft any sports record, even if it doesn't stand anymore?Huh?Wasn't the four minute mile the first thing taken? This is an interesting pick. Not very spe cific.Sports record (1) In dividual or team
Works for me. I thought it was a record that was standing. In that case, Aaron's HR record is the 2nd best of the career home run records.I don't think sports records need to be permanent to be selected. I gotta run again. Can I send a pm?

You can draft the 1st guy that ever hit a homerun in the major leagues and held the record for most career homeruns until the 2nd guy did it . . .I haven't been paying much attention to this category at all..... but are we saying we can draft any sports record, even if it doesn't stand anymore?Huh?Wasn't the four minute mile the first thing taken? This is an interesting pick. Wait till I bring a detailed analysis of my draftSo that's what one hand clapping sounds like.....Self-Props
I am killing it the last few rounds - Pilgrims Progress, Blonde on Blonde by Dylan, Wine, The Lighthouse at Alexandra, and The Statue of Zeus at Olympia - that is TWO wonders of the Ancient World after round 30!

Oh boy.Well, on the bright side, your James Cagney in Yankee Doodle Dandy selection should get a very good rating if I'm still the judge. To round out round 33, I'm going to grab my first album. One of my personal favorites, a classic in its own right, and still good after all these years.
I select, Hotel California by the Eagles.
I'm going to start round 34 off with another album. It will be interesting to see how this one ends up getting judged, but I believe it to be the best in its genre and therefore it should go pretty high, although it is unlike anything else taken to this point.
And it is at this juncture that I must protest the blanket language filters on this site. There are occaisons where the F word is required. There are also occaisons where a certain word must be used that some find offensive, even when no offense is meant. It is one of those times.
This album won the grammy in 1974. It is considered still the finest work by its performer, and that praise is enormous when you review his massive collection of works that we have been given to listen to. This was the album that blew the doors off the entertainment industry and make him an icon. His greatest multiplied after this recording. At only 32 minutes long it is a titan in the album category up against hour long competition. But this 32 minutes keeps you on the edge of your seat the entire time. Laughing your f****** *** off every single second.
I select, That Ni****'s Crazy, by Richard Pryor
"I Hope I'm Funny"
"###### With A Seizure"
"Have Your ### Home By – 11:00"
"Black And White Lifestyles"
"Exorcist"
"Wino Dealing With Dracula"
"Flying Saucers"
"The Back Down"
"Black Man/White Woman"
"######s Vs. The Police"
"Wino And Junkie"
"Mrs. Giotta"
I'll be interested to see how this is judged, too. Never occurred to me to include comedy albums. Good stuff.Don't listen to her, Yankee. Don't listen to him, Yankee. The Eagles kick big time ### !!!love the pryor pick, hate the ####### eagles man.
I'm sorry..... What wrong with Hotel California? The title song is routinely considered one of the top 5 rock songs of all time. New Kid in Town was a #1, some of the others are staples of the industry and it was a pretty damn good concept story album as well.Oh boy.Well, on the bright side, your James Cagney in Yankee Doodle Dandy selection should get a very good rating if I'm still the judge. To round out round 33, I'm going to grab my first album. Don't even go there. That was a football classic, and one of the great sports epics of all time. And that was no donkey kicking those field goals, that was a mule. There's plenty of high quality mule motion pictures. We could have made a separate category for it. What's the difference between a donkey, a mule, and an ###?Too late for you, Eeyore!Weren't we supposed to have "partners" that would evalute the judges' picks? Could I petition to have someone with taste evaluate my movie and acting performance picks?
So basically you want someone who spends a ton of time here without actually being involved so that he can judge a few small things, which automatically means he has no life, and he also has to really really enjoy watching movies about donkeys and enjoy them so much that it moves him to want to help you.You are looking for a no life, internet sidekick who is "moved" by movies about animals. Nah, that shouldn't be too hard to find here.Weren't we supposed to have "partners" that would evalute the judges' picks? I pretty much do whatever Jeff Bridges tells me to do.
On the "partner" front, anyone ever find out who wikkid's judging partner was?You could always ask Larry Boy. Back in the GAD, he made a big deal out of liking Donkey Kong.
