GAVEL!

OK, let's get this meeting underway. First, we need a list of Tides' remaining picks to be evaluated. Then, we need to come up with new ways to discredit them.

Tides' sculpture is Venus De Milo. Sure it's nice, but she's missing both of her arms. Those arms might have been hideous, we just don't know. I think that's enough to dock him a few points. Krista, will you contact the Moops? Tell him the gang needs a favor...

I love wrong forum schtick.Norwood

I currently have Persistence of Memory ranked 28th-30th (33rd iteration), which is worth 11 points.

Would you like more points, less points, or is this just right.

Also, Why?

TIA

I'm on it, boss. Will also point out that her boobs are kind of small and she has no waist.

FWIW, the 2005 St. Emilion we enjoyed last evening was a 99 on Parker's Wine Advocate Vintage Guide.

99 >> 87

I win

I'd like to pledge 75 of my points to Norwood's team.

Now I get a request, right?

I want to hear "Angelina/Zooma Zooma" by Louis Prima . . .

since y'all have a bias against it, Scotty should be allowed to switch Persistance of Memory for Dali's "Dembo Missing a Free Throw". the net's ON TOP of the rim, the lane is a lake of fire and the shot clock is dancing with bent silverware from a Uri Geller auction being conducted courtside by Jack Nicholson, the grimacing face of Tides of War reflected in his shades. gotta go - ceiling is melting again....

Keely Smith still performs in Vegas- at least she did a few years ago, with some old members of the band that are left.

Those look pretty good. :yucky:

I'd say you very much off on Raymond Babbitt in Rain Main - Dustin Hoffman and Marshal Will Kane in High Noon - Gary Cooper. Both should be much higher.
The Gary Cooper ranking really stood out to me as well. Don't agree on Rain Man--think that performance is generally way overrated.I'll be back with more comments after dinner. :)
I thought Rain Man was great. Part of the movie was filmed in the area of Kentucky I lived in, so maybe I'm a bit biased. Ever eaten at Pompilios, Postradamus? Still, I thought his performance was generally well thought of in that, no?
I went there once, a couple of years after the movie came out. We were on our way from Louisville to Kings Island, I think--or maybe it was a Reds game we were going to--and just decided to stop for lunch somewhere. Had no idea what the place was. Don't remember much about the meal other than it was pretty good and we kept wondering why there were so many pictures of Rain Man around it--then :X as we realized it was where the toothpick scene was filmed. His performance in that movie is to me very one-note. By virtue of playing someone with autism he necessarily had to tone down any emotion and was left with just talking with a strange voice and weird mannerisms, and that's it. A lot like Tom Hanks in Forrest Gump, IMO. Not terrible by any means, but way too many better performances on this list.

This post should have received some love.

I wwa shoping the Statue of Zeus, being an Ancient Wonder, would have scored higher - but that was offset by The Nutcracker getting a few more points than I expected.

Good job by that judge
