Just picked up a Fender American Professional Stratocaster in "sonic grey" with maple neck/fingerboard. I'm in love.
The "Professional" series is upgrading/replacing the American Standard series. New/Improved neck shape, pickups, frets, bridge/trem, bone nut, and a better case. In my opinion, they did a fantastic job. Plays like a dream, sounds great, and the sonic grey with aged white pickguard, knobs, etc and mappe neck is just drop dead gorgeous. Classy, understated, timeless. Very visually appealing. Possibly the best loking guitar I've ever seen.
