**Official** Hell on Wheels (1 Viewer)

I still really like this series, but tonights storyline was unrealistic.

Even Ben Cartwright would have ended the Swedes life right there at the river.
Heck. I bet even Captain Parmenter would have done it.

Yeah, I know, some of you are wondering who Captain Parmenter is. :P

I liked it all the way to the end. I could have done without the Chinese girl/boy storyline though. It was no Deadwood but still worth watching.

Finally they mercifully put this one to bed.

with a few different showrunners, it seems some of the overall arcs don't totally make sense.  We never found out completely if the sergeant was really there when they killed Bohannons family.  Within the show there were many wll done episodes.  The whole Ruth arc was dumb.

Overall, pretty good show with some great one off episodes

I was bored after Elam was killed off. I stopped watching after season 4, but watched the last episode. How was season 5?

I think I agree with both of these takes. The show struggled to maintain much cohesion, but the two main leads were great and there were some great moments.

Relationship between Bohannon and Elam hooked me instantly.

Agree with the others that it started strong and was great for a few seasons, but slowly lost momentum.
too heavy handed for me

crammed full of stereotypes, bad accents, bad acting, rushed scenarios to force relationships and like/dislike of characters.

i prefer slower development and more mystery.

Then I would give it a few more episodes.  I think they did rush a bunch at the start to throw you in the action, but I wouldn't describe the first few seasons as rushed.

Stereotypes?  Yes, there are some, but there are others that certainly aren't.

Some of the acting I found brilliant, but I'm no scholar in that realm.

IIRC the first season was a bit of a train wreck. They replaced their writing team and I thought it really picked up in S2.

Could be.  It's been a while.  I discovered it at home on a sick day and blew threw half the season in one sitting.

Full disclosure, I'm a sucker for westerns and I'm not the pickiest of consumers.

I enjoy it.  I breezed through the first few season (2 or 3 maybe) a year or two ago, and am slowly getting through it.  Might watch one episode every two or three weeks or so.  Still like it, just too many shows right now.

I wouldn't say it's must watch tv, but it's entertaining enough.

You still work at that bank I used to fax #### to?  Asking for a friend.
