Kevin had a bad team. Van impressed me, but it appeared that he was doing about 2.5 jobs out of the three available. I almost thought that Kevin should have hopped on the scallops at the beginning. I think that he finished close, but the editing made it appear closer than it was. If he had saved that time by doing it himself, it might have made a difference. If he could have pulled off his more ambitious menu in the same time frame, it might have been a different outcome. Agreed with WTF wasTenielle?
Ramsey never cooks to catch them up so Kevin would look weak if he had assisted with the scallops.

I think the right person won. Dave was the better cook and was probably the more consistent of the two. I don't think Ramsey ever called him out/yelled at him during a service.

Its an interesting show but Fox completely butchers it with its overproduction. We don't need to quick camera cuts, action movie sound effects and dramatic voice overs.

+ the recap after every commercial of what we just saw before the commercial
Not to mention the overly dramatized preview of what's to come (next, or maybe later in the show) before the commercial.
The show would be a lot better if it were produced like Top Chef. But its Fox so maybe my expectations are too high.

:lmao: :lmao: I know it's not the same show, but since Fox does the same thing with it, it's amazing watching the British version of Kitchen Nightmares and how "quiet" it is. And more enjoyable.

This show would be unwatchable if not for DVR.

:goodposting: Gordon is very polite and seems to care and connect with the owners much more in that.

Probably because all the American owners I seen were stuck up, ignorant snobs who think they're #### don't stink, that didn't want any assistance and their food tastes like ###. The British version it always seemed like the owners knew they were doomed and openly welcomed the help.

Dammit...forgot to set the dvr....thanks for the reminder, I'll watch episode one online and record the rest...

Would you be implying Cheesy Actors instead of media types????
:lmao: so true...no one in the media gives a ####. This is not Top Chef. They just want to see him belittle the contestants. Autumn is pretty fit though. About time they casted someone decent looking.

Pretty weak lineup overall to me. WTF was up with Ramsey's wife going undercover and that whole make out session? Are they already out of ideas 10 minutes in to the season?

I guess you missed the season where Ramsey put on a ridiculous wig and hung out with the contestants on the way to the restaurant. This isn't new.

At the end of the episode, I had the red head beating out Jason in the finals. Previews make me second guess that now. Good to know that the second episode is the one you have to see to believe this year.

That's a good point, but I'm talking more about the makeout. It was shock for the sake of shock, and that kind of thing happens each season, but so early on?

"The red kitchen is having trouble with appetizers, meanwhile the blue kitchen has overcome early mistakes and moved onto entrees..."

Amazing ta-ta's on Autumn though. When she was making/serving breakfast in bed wearing her nightie I think I rewound it six times.
