Wish they would have brought Ji back, instead of Robert. She looked the best early on last year but left with an ankle injury. She was hot too.Isn't Robert the odds on favorite to win this show? He has experience, can cook/work on a team, and GR seems to have a soft spot for him.The ambulance tonight couldn't be for him, why would they have to evacuate everyone for one guys heart condition? Its a fire drill, calling it now. Hope I'm wrong.
I was wondering why Ji didn't get the call back this seasonJust a hunch but I don't think Robert is going to be as good as he was last season. I think this season looks stronger.I'm saying Kevin & Ariel are the top from each team
One thing's for sure, Robert's going to have to stop coasting and get back to work. In episode 2, it seemed he thought he could cruise to the final.

:lmao: its his personality x10people should watch BBC kitchen nightmares to get a real taste of Ramsay
:) Yea, he has a very confrontational, no holds barred type of personality but he also knows when to push and to back off (mostly) and when to be rough and when to nurture (mostly). But in this show, he kicks the confrontational/loud side of him up by a factor of at least 10. Kitchen Nightmares and F-Word seem to be much better representations of who he really is. It is not an act nor is it just shtick.... it is just highlighting and turbo charging one aspect of his personality and on purpose.
KN from the BBC, not the US version. Wish the US producers would take a queue from the BBC and not overproduce their shows. The fake cliff hangers, cheesy "drama' music, MTV style edits, and just an over produced show in general make it pretty hard to watch.
I agree, the BBC show is much easier to watch. Doesn't Gordon narrate that show, vs. the over the top narration from someone else in the US version?

Yep. Not sure it would work in this format, he's actually working in the kitchen, whereas he's usually just observing and making suggestions in the BBC show.

But it's not like the narration is recorded in real time. He could add what he was thinking in each situation after the fact.

Yes, but it would be weird hearing him talk in his calm normal voice, with the video showing him yelling at people ;-)

The marine has issues.

"Watch your step"

"Yeah, I'll watch my step #####." He used the word ##### like 10 times within a minute.

Good call. Figured it had to be something orchestrated since all the commercials have shown well lit and shot footage of the fire crew. If there was an actual fire, the footage would've resembled something out of Blair Witch Project.

this may be the greatest season of this show yet. haven't seen tonight's yet, but if the marine and ramsey go at it ... wow.

i always wondered how supposedly trained chefs could screw up so bad ... but after the first two hours this season, i'm convinced they're all actors and plants.

I missed the first half hour. Can someone recap what happened with the psycho dude?
Nothing at all. Ramsey told him to leave and he did... Cursed a lot on the way out, but that's about it.
:lmao: Well that's pretty anticlimactic.
Yeah, they really built it up with lines like, "The most explosive episode of HK EVER!" ...and then nothing happened. I mean, halfway through one girl spilled some grease on the stove and had a small fire start up in the kitchen, but that didn't last very long.

You forgot that he could get hired in any kitchen in the country and they'd be glad to have him. According to him.
:lmao: oh yeah, he did say that - makes me wonder why he even bothered going on the show in the first place then. :lmao:

And is Lovely the most worthless contestant ever? I know it seems like Teneille is giving her a run for the money, but come on.

Why should you stay in Hell's Kitchen?

"I have the drive to get it done, even though no one believes in me".

Contrast with:

Episode 1: "I just had to take a 45 minute break and drink 4 bottles of water".

Episode 2: Sucked

Episode 3: Sucked again

Prediction: Lovely next to go, unless Teneille manages to screw up more spectacularly, or one of the guys gets hurt and leaves the show.

I'm liking my Ariel & Kevin picks although Kevin is hobbled
The only thing that annoys me about Kevin is that I get him mixed up with the Sous chef. Scott? Other than that, seems like a good chef. Dallas guy is actually a good chef too when he's not being a psycho and threatening people.

Ever? Did you see last season? Lovely is this season's Lacey. She has a good start, but there's ways to go to catch up.

Yeah, but it's different. I always thought Lacey was all shtick, and didn't really care. She pretty much said she didn't care several times.I think Lovely is actually completely incompetent, although I agree that there's not that much difference between the results.

Lovely should just wave the white flag on 'Hell's Kitchen' and high tail it over to 'More to Love' where she'd at least have a shot.

cant get into this season yet. The wacky marine, the diner cook, the "shrimp rain", the pasta dinner (WTF?), its all just so over the top. I thought this show held its own when it focused on the chefs, their food, and their (normal) interactions.

 i'll give it 1 or 2 more ep's to see if i get hooked. otherwise, looks like i'm off to the gym on Tuesday nights from now on.

So far its a crazy start but I think they have a strong group of chefs 5-6 quality chefs

Really. I made the mistake of continuing to watch that channel. That guy has no standards. Which is good for the chicks. I felt sorry for some of them.

Agreed, things move much smoother when they combine into one team. Personally I like the goof ups like 45 minutes to get an order in and fluke injuries so I'm all over this season. Its actually a lot like Idol. 12 chefs audition, in the beginning a lot of them crash and burn and I have some laughs, then the strong are left and its an impressive display.Ariel's freckles get me. I became a big fan tonight. And for the guys Robert slipped twice in the kitchen which bothered me a little. I'll take Brock Lesnar just ahead of Kevin at this point.

Still crackin up over Ramsay calling Lovely "Dumbo."

Did he call math girl a "thick #####"? That's a new one on me but I like it :lmao:Edit- didn't realize female dog was censored. Odd.

losing the 'marine' was awful for the show. and there's no way that guy served as a marine. marines know how to take orders and they know how to show respect.

Robert forgot the Salmon!

How do you roll both ankles at the same time? Was Kevin wearing high heels when he washed the fire truck?

The guy that got his hand stuck in the trim of the truck... when you get your hand stuck in between metal what do you do? Jerk it out! wtf?

how did Tennille get through Johnson & Wales? She couldn't even saute the scallops
is J&W tough? my daughter starts there (providence) in september.
they have a good repcongrats to your D and condolences to your wallet
thank you and, well, i always wanted better for my kids than to have to go to a state school like i did. so i have to live with that.
I'd be interested to hear how this goes. I like to watch food network and try a new recipe every now so my mom insisted I go to culinary school on her dime but I was leary of making my hobby my career

I think the favorites at this point is Ariel from the women and Kevin, the bald guy with the injured ankles as the favorite for the men.

I am a J&W alum. I went about 20 years ago to the Charleston campus.

While not as demeaning and psychotic as Ramsey, they did run a lot of it liek a boot camp when I was there. I learned a lot, but it was not an enjoyable experience. I was about 30 when I went and had a lot of experience. I was in the advanced program and even that was more geared to lightly experienced 20 year olds.

A buddy of mine went to the Providence campus and he said it was run as a front by the mob. Food for the school brought in and turned around and back out to mob restaurants. :lmao: I never saw anything like that in Charleston, but I really was not looking for it.

wow. really glad to hear most of my hard-earned money is going to the mob.
