Kevin is head & shoulders the best chef this season
Yeah, there is a big divide in the level of talent. It was like they took 6-7 nutjobs and then put in a few decent people that could cook. I might have been able to get in the top 6 in this group. It still is a guilty pleasure to watch this show for some reason.

I love the diary room comment by [i forget his name] mentioning the shortcomings of the men's team that night..."...and Robert's morbid obesity...". ;)

I think this show has a few more seasons left in the tank. Especially if it sticks to the summer season since there is virtually no competition.

Robert needs to go. He came in all entitled.
He's just more evidence that it's staged for drama. I wish they could be just a little subtle about it. I ALMOST DIED FOR THIS SHOW!!!!
I saw this doofus at Atlantis earlier this year. I couldn't place him at the time. That show is the least of his worries when it comes to his life.
HE ALMOST DIED TO GO DOWN THAT WATER SLIDE!!!
He's a big dude. I doubt he'd fit down any of them. I was concerned he might get stuck in the lazy river at some points.

calling it now, this will be the final season of HK
Ratings still strong among the 18-49 demo. Show costs are crazy low for an hour of primetime. Show is on as long as Ramsey wants it to be on. It's a money maker for Fox.
Yeah, they shoot it in about 2 weeks and hold them in the can for a dead spot in the schedule. Costs nothing at all to put on.
Yeah, the challenge prize this week was a joke. A sausage buffet of four sausages? A Bus trip with a 12 pack? weak

Right now the show is more about the outburst and poor chefs. Once the get rid of the sucky chefs and get to the actual people who can cook, it'll get more interesting. For now Im enjoying the yelling, I think CHef Ramsey needs to scream more and isolate people, make someone into his personal whipping boy or girl.

well, i am smack in the middle of the 18-49 demo, but i feel about 60. So, maybe i'm just too old to appreciate the 60 minutes of yelling and screaming combined with choppy MTV editing and ridiculous gags (a la shrimp rain).I'll retreat to my "grumpy old man" corner of TV land

That's always been what the show is. That's all it is.

Why would somebody name their daughter lovely?

My problem with this season is there are no laid back, likable guys whose comments are always money and don't get caught up in the drama (like Petroza a couple seasons ago or the redneck last season).

I thought it'd be robert this year, then he went and broke a broom

My biggest issue with this show is that it is way over produced. We don't need the 2 minute misleading previews at each commercial break.

Ramsay to file for Bankruptcy?

Shut it Down!

As well-heeled diners went into hibernation, four of Mr. Ramsay's high-profile restaurants -- in Los Angeles, New York, Paris and Prague -- "were starting to hemorrhage" cash last year, Mr. Ramsay said. He breached terms on £10.5 million, or $15.7 million, in loans that were partially backed by his personal fortune. An auditor recommended his company, Gordon Ramsay Holdings Ltd., file for bankruptcy. Mr. Ramsay sold his Ferrari and considered unloading his multimillion-dollar London home.

Lots of high end restaurants are going under. Nobody is doing expense account meals anymore.

It looks like Tennille gets mouthy next week with Chef Ramsey. You never get into a shouting match with the Chef.

I don't think anyone explained to her how mics work. She seems to be yelling so every house in America can hear her when she's in the confessional booth.

BTW, i'm picking Tek to be the winner.
Oops.
Yeah, oh well. Can't believe she f'd up the meat like that. But what I found interesting was Tennille telling her to cook it in the oven, and then put it on the grill just to give it the grill marks. Looked like the guys were cooking them entirely on the grill.
I thought I heard Tennille tell her to grill the steak to give it marks and then put it in the oven to cook it. I grill steaks fairly often and have never had any problem grilling the steak to order in just a little time. I'd only put a steak in the oven if it was too cold outside to grill. Am I missing something? BTW, that dish Robert offered (surf and turf) looked great. Grilled steak and lobster. The catfish and collard dish looked good too.

She couldn't cook scallops in the first or second episode. No surprise that she's gone. Charring it on the grill and finishing in the oven is not uncommon if dealing with a large number of steaks. If done right, there's no problem at all. She didn't do it right.

Haven't watched a show yet. Is Van doing ok? Still without knowing a thing about anyone else I'd say he's the favorite. Though AFAIK he was booted 3 weeks ago.

Oh, I'm not doubting that. Rather just that it did not appear that the blue team had to use that technique.

One thing that was odd was that they put Tek on that station again. The meat station is often a problem for some reason. Seems like Ariel or someone should have been on it.

Yes, some stations are more difficult than others- esp. for those that have never worked them much. I'd say grilled meats and Ramsey's ubiquitous Beef Wellington are hardest to master and might take even a good chef a few services to get down pat. The grill is also the slowest station- cooking an 8 oz burger medium-well can take 2-3x as long as the rest of the menu items, so if the grill guy gets in the weeds- its extremely hard to catch up and pull out. On the other hand, the garnish and veggies are usually the easiest to master.

Is it Tek or Ten that runs the STEAK HOUSE? Woulda swore Tek said she did last night. Blowing grill and getting booted off for it would be even more amusing if she is Steak House girl.

Tennille works at the steak house.
Definitely heard the steak house person say they run it last night.
Okay. I was answering your question regarding whether it was Tek or Tennille. It was Tennille.

guy last season was the executive chef at a steakhouse & bombed at the grill

I hate that after each commercial they recap what happened just before the commercial :lmao:
Agreed. Although considering the commercial breaks last 5-8 minutes these days, the geriatrics probably require it.I think DVR has added weeks to my life over the last couple years. ### no commercials and no recaps of what happened before the 8 minute break.

She amuses me. She can't cook worth a ####, but I hope she hangs around for a few more weeks just for the entertainment value.
funny thing is she thinks she's the best there
To be fair, they all do.

And several of the guys will threaten to kick your ### if you disagree with them.

When Gordon Ramsey decides to close down the kitchen early, do the diners really go home without being served? I'd be pissed if I had to wait two hours and then told to leave without getting food.
