Is it just me or is Sylar not aware of everyone that has powers?Seemed as he was sitting in the restaurant he over heard the girl talk about how all of a sudden she could remember anything that she read. Hiro said he had special abilities also.. he could teach anyone to speak Japanese( )Sylar takes out waitress, but leaves Hiro alive in the bathroom which left me with the feeling that Sylar knew someone was "special" in that building but was unable to confirm it until he heard the girl say what she said.Or should I just put a :bag: on and not talk any more?? ;)
Take off the :bag:I hadn't thought of it, but it seems entirely plausible to me. That's the great thing about this show to me, there are so many questions, and they leave the possibility of multiple answers for each one. Terrific writing.

I thought the little indian kid was definately Mohinder's dead sister. Not sure if her appearing in his dreams was due to her powers or some power in him that's finally showing up though.

I really don't think HRG and company are bad. Just as someone said before though, They do what they need to in order to accomplish their mission (which appears to be identify/track people with powers). They know about Sylar and that he's killing people with powers. If they were bad, why not convince Sylar to join up like the memory man?

Didn't the mom say the sister died when she was 5? That kid looked way older than 5, maybe 10 or 12.

The Indian kid was in the file in the locked bureau, so definitely was realy at some point. I couldn't tell if it was a boy or girl. If girl, it's Mohindar's sister (who was "special") and she is going to be his spirit guide. Short haired girl's power is clearly suggestion (via whispering). There's no hidden thing there. It was pretty clearly spelled out in the show.HRG is still evil - jsut has a soft spot for his daughter. He pretty much said that they had to kill Claire's parent(s) because they didn't cooperate.By Hiro appearing in the picture it is proof he can change the future, but maybe only in very small ways. We'll soon find out.
Anyone with TIVO want to go look at what name was on the file folder with the indian kid in it?
I was wondering the same thing.

Dumb question. Why were Matt and Audrey investigating radiation man in the first place? I know he killed the doctor, but his M.O. is nothing like Sylar's. How did they even link the two?

Going out on a limb. The little kid is syler.

Im guessing Eden has some kind of power of persuasionMohinder doesnt have a power. The Indian kid has the power of speaking thru people's dreams
Didn't the brother go into a dream after being around Mohinder. I that is Mohinders power.

I'd like to see the name on the folder again also. I believe the little boy is Sylar.

You seem to think that just because people are evil or have bad intentions they are going to want to hang out together and team up.We're talking two different kinds of evil here:1. Sylar - independent, power hungry, crazy2. HRG & Co. - Gov't (or similar) organization that wants to figure out what's happening and probably harness some of the powers for their own ends. Maybe not purely evil like Sylar but evil in the CIA type of way - they don't really value the indvidual, just furthering their own ends.

It was something like Sangor, Iyer. Iyer is the first name.

The boy could have been the first patient hence Sylar saying on the phone "you made me" or some such. Just because he is young in the dream does not mean he is younger in the current time frame. Also, the dream power could explain how Sylar is finding the people with special powers. He probably used Mohindar's dad to track them down by dream manipulation just like he did with the son.

A big part of Mohindar's Dad's research seemed to be actually predicting where/who would have powers. Remember the map? Since Sylar worked with Mo's Dad and even had a much more detailed map in his apartment and is using that to track down his victims.

Then why let one of the most powerful characters(Hiro) live and take the Memory enhanced one?? That is what made me question it. Hiro was alone in the bathroom, yet Sylar decides he wants Memory power over stopping time.. Doesn't make sense to me.

I think she said it was because the doctor was burned to a crisp, but nothing else in the room was touched.

Sylar has a specific target in mind through his research. He doesnt know everyone's powers, but has somehow figured out that some people have powers. He might be able to figure out that Hiro has powers, but obviously didnt know Hiro would be there. I bet if someone pulled up an image of the map from Sylar's apartment, the waitress's pic would be there.

My thought is Sylar was not aware of Hiro since Mohindar's dad was not aware of him. I think eventually his list will dry up unless Mohindar continues with his dads work. Hence him manipulating him in his dreams.

Also, Radiation levels were sky high in his room and his wife died of radiation poisoning so they were trying to find out where he got it.

There is a genetic thing to the powers. Is it a coincidence that Mohinder's love interest works for a genetics company? We have already seen cases where siblings and children of specials also have powers. For instance, Peter and Nathan's mom told Peter that his dad thought he was special before he killed himself. Claire was the baby of someone HRG was already investigating. Micah is special and so are DL and Nikki. Mohinder and his dead sister seem special and maybe their mom was, hence her suggestion for the dad to go to NYC.I think Sylar was working with Mohinder's dad early on and that is why he also knows where some people are and what to look for to find them. Not sure how all the parents got the specialness, but if there was an experiment gone awry or a genetic trait, maybe that is how Sylar and Mohinder's dad tracked them down.By the way Drifter, I don't think HRG said that they had to kill Claire's parent, I thought it was that their testing/studying didn't go well. We don't actually know how the parent died, i.e. going nuclear like the guy last night. It seemed more like an accident the way he talked about it.

I understand why it would be investigated, it just doesn't make any sense to link it to the Sylar murders.:shrug:I guess it's not a big deal either way.

I think I missed a show a coupkle weeks ago. When the cop that can read minds was caught what did they do to him and how did he get away?

THey were testing to see how far his powers had grown. After a little research, erased his memory of being picked up and returned him to his home where he woke up on the couch.

Sylar takes out waitress, but leaves Hiro alive in the bathroom which left me with the feeling that Sylar knew someone was "special" in that building but was unable to confirm it until he heard the girl say what she said.

I just realized the girl was given the Japanese book for her birthday. Hiro had to be the one to give it to her. Or was this already mentioned. :bag:

So what are Sylar's assumed powers?

Telekinesis - We've seen him use this on several occasions.

Temperature Control - His victims were frozen.

Power Absorption - Assumed motive for killing and removing victims' brains.

So is the current theory that his original power was absorption, and that he picked up Telekinesis and Temperature Control from some of his victims. Have we seen him display any other powers?

i think she'll be key to this mystery. "mark it down"
Absolutely, my question was rhetorical. ;) I think what may, depending upon what she knows, be even more significant is her trying to get him to go work for her company and abandon his dad's research.

Also, her birthday was what... 6 months ago but she was only working on it for a week. So either Hiro went back 6 months to give her the book or a week to give her the book. Maybe she was an innocent without any powers at all but she attributed her memory to some strange happening.

I hate playing the time warp game as it can mess with your head but..When she walked up to them in the restraunt she said : "We don't get many tourists out here". Clearly, at that point she hadn't ever met him before. Now, after he time warps and ends up in the picture things may change.. Again, it will mess up your head man.. Let it go, let it go.. ;)

So what are Sylar's assumed powers?Telekinesis - We've seen him use this on several occasions.Temperature Control - His victims were frozen.Power Absorption - Assumed motive for killing and removing victims' brains. So is the current theory that his original power was absorption, and that he picked up Telekinesis and Temperature Control from some of his victims. Have we seen him display any other powers?
He flew at one point, but this could have been the telikineses - although in the vein of fantastic literature, telekineses does not usually give one the power to move one's self.

I may have missed something but how did Claire's father know exactly when and where she would be killed?

And since he knew that info couldn't he just relocate her somewhere else? Or setup some elaborate trap to capture Sylar? He acts like she is dead no matter what happens unless the painter can come up with a masterpiece.

I just realized the girl was given the Japanese book for her birthday. Hiro had to be the one to give it to her. Or was this already mentioned. :bag:
Also, her birthday was what... 6 months ago but she was only working on it for a week. So either Hiro went back 6 months to give her the book or a week to give her the book. Maybe she was an innocent without any powers at all but she attributed her memory to some strange happening.
Before Hiro jumped back in time there was a picture of just her at her birthday on the wall. After he jumped back the picture changed to him being at her birthday. She said she got the book 6 months ago for her birthday, but never looked at it till recently. Dont know if it means anything.

They have Isaac's paintings showing her at Homecoming.

Maybe he didn't exactly fly, but Jumped.. Seems strange that if he could fly already that they would bring in a character that can do that. or maybe....... Sylar is the politician... Now THaT would make sense.. Sneaky little bastages always out for more power. ;)

There is a genetic thing to the powers. Is it a coincidence that Mohinder's love interest works for a genetics company?
i think she'll be key to this mystery. "mark it down"
Absolutely, my question was rhetorical. ;) I think what may, depending upon what she knows, be even more significant is her trying to get him to go work for her company and abandon his dad's research.
knew it was rhetorical, and was agreeing with you. you're typically right on, whether in this thread or the Lost thread.

I think it might be safer to assume that he doesn't have power absorption. Wouldn't that make him more aware of folks like Hiro? Not saying for sure, just kind of thinking out loud. Kind of that spidey sense of adding a new power. The whole frozen thing is odd because it was only the little girl's dad. Note to self that since Sylar tried to grab the little girl and popped her dad's cap, that means that was one more family/genetic connection. One thought, why did Sylar not whack the little girl right away? Was that NBC trying to stay a little above board? We haven't seen one victim yet that he spared other than the little girl. Maybe she hasn't developed her power yet?One last note, damn I really like this show alot. I thought that scene with Hiro's girl in the back room was awesome. It showed how powerful/fast Sylar really is. Not trying to be gory but her looking around and then just seeing the blood drip down was intense. It surprised me, I was not expecting her to die the same episode.

We haven't seen anything that indicates that each power is specific to one individual.
