Telltyawhat considering that Russian hackers just dumped the DNC's oppo report on Trump to the live web, I'm starting to reconsider this wikileak thing, if it is *something then IMO don't discount Russian government purposeful efforts to affect our election, probably a first in US history. I'm really hoping or expecting the answer is no it won't be anything. But this DNC hack and dump is scary stuff.
Why's it scary?

Name a policy position that you agree with Hillary on.
That is tough.  First I would have to know one which she is telling the truth on.

I am pretty sure she is for bombing people.  That seems to be her most consistant position.

I'd consider the potential for foreign powers to influence our elections with revelations a new and dangerous element if it comes to pass.

Maybe any rate I'm sure Donaod is happy to get the opposing team's playbook for free.
Skimming this doc....so far I see nothing that would rise to the standard of "revelation".  That said, you do bring up a good point and I did pause bringing it up here as it might get in the way of the serious topics, but is it a problem if a foreign power brings to the forefront a problem to the American people that our government is hiding from us?  Obviously, this release of information doesn't fit that standard, but what if something like that did happen?  I think based on the circumstances, it could be either good or bad for us as citizens.

After locking up the Latino vote for Hillary with the Judge Curiel comments, Trump is now focusing on the LGBT community in the aftermath of the Orlando tragedy:

http://fusion.net/story/314908/trump-ask-the-gays-twitter/?utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=socialshare&utm_content=theme_top_desktop

Donald Trump said to ‘ask the gays’ about him. The response was priceless.

Donald Trump has responded in typically appalling fashion to the Orlando shooting, but one slightly surprising aspect of his approach to the tragedy has been his repeated claims that he is an ally of the LGBTQ community.

He continued this theme during a rally in Atlanta on Wednesday, suggesting that the LGBTQ community was on board with his candidacy .

At the event, Trump once again spoke out against Hillary Clinton for the Clinton Foundation’s alleged acceptance of up to $25 million from Saudi Arabia, a country where gay sex is punishable by death. He said, “Ask the gays what they think and what they do, in, not only Saudi Arabia, but many of these countries, and then you tell me,” adding “who’s your friend, Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton?”

Well. “The gays,” as Trump so lovingly refers to LGTBQ Americans, quickly took to Twitter to make it very, very clear that Trump—who, among other things, opposes marriage equality and who is reportedly making potential business deals in Saudi Arabia—is no friend of theirs.

The “Trump: Ask the gays!” meme sprang up quickly, and has gifted us with a number appropriate and fitting reactions to a statement like “ask the gays.” Here are our ten favorite (found at above link)

Sure ask the gays go ahead and ask 'em, but where are they, anyone seen the gays?

the LGBTQ community
Fine, they didn't all want to be labeled as the gay community.  It's annoying, but whatever.  So Gays and Lesbians.  Eh, cumbersome.  But wait, sexuality isn't binary, so add Bi.  And then they're at acronym status anyway, but only a 3 letter one, so they needed to add Trans.  So for a few years you get a nice four letter acronym - LGBT.  Isn't overly wordy, can roll off the tongue.  Great, that'll do.  But now you want Queer added too?!?  NO SIR.  This is a bridge to far I say.  You cannot have all the letters under the sun.  You have 4.  4 is plenty.  This I will not stand for!

Why does the government only conduct primaries for the Republicans and the Democrats?  You've already got the polling stations set up, with electronic voting, how much harder is it to have more parties on the ballots?
Do other parties actually want to be on the ballot?

Why does the government only conduct primaries for the Republicans and the Democrats?  You've already got the polling stations set up, with electronic voting, how much harder is it to have more parties on the ballots?  And seeing as you're not even voting for candidates - you're voting for delegates that can do whatever they want without legal consequence - how is this a good for the state?

Only the parties benefit from the primaries, so they should pay for their own crap, or it should be open to the public.
Little bit of chicken/egg here. The states don't run primaries for smaller parties because they don't have enough voters to begin with. But they can't have more voters without more exposure.

However what I do believe is that parties can and should be actual parties. Every party you ever go to, not everyone is invited to the party. I like the differentiation of philosophies and IMO diffusion of power among multiple parties would be better than what you suggest which would kill already struggling smaller parties while ruining the cohesion of the major parties which we know so well. I say all this as a registered Independent who has generally supported Bernie's charge up the hill.

Or let me put it this way, as a voter I'd rather bar hop or do a pub crawl to different places with different atmospheres and patrons from different neighborhoods, rather that have *alll of us crowd into one big crappy crowded suburban banquet hall.  :banned:

   Use whatever you are comfortable that is not considered pejorative. I use either gay or LGBT, just as I use either Black or African American, or either Hispanic or Latino. The Q was included by the author of the link but I don't think that it hasn't gotten to the point that it is considered mandatory to be PC.

Enjoy getting raped and murdered!

/Trump

One thing that is 100% certain is a vote for Hillary Clinton is a vote for continued mass murders of Americans by Islamic terrorists simply because she will continue with business as usual.

With Trump at least maybe he will do something about it. Hillary definitely won't. So basically vote for Hillary if you love mass murders in the USA.

Alternatively, a vote for Trump is necessarily a vote for (and from) an insane lunatic and bigot, so apologies if I can't join the fringe with you this round.

This discussion bores me.  Anything new on the emails?   The wiki leaks coukd be fun.
Doubtful.  Thinking Assange is trying to drum up traffic and has nothing that isn't public, with some commentary.  Hope I'm wrong.

I thought the Q was Questioning  and  A was Advocate

LGBTQ: "LGBTQ" is an acronym that originated in the 1990s and replaced what was formerly known as "the gay community." The acronymn was created to be more inclusive of diverse groups. LGBTQ stands for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (and/or questioning) individuals/identities.

I thought Queer was considered derogatory.  It seems to to changing to an acceptable word now.

So, to combat US Citizens committing mass murder, he is going to build a wall and ban Muslims entering the country.

Pssst, you are trying too hard.

Just assume that whatever you say will be hateful...the word police don't take kindly to non-libs...

Maybe it could be indifferent?

After several weeks of polls that showed Hillary Clinton only a few points ahead of Trump, and two that put her lead within the margin of error, Bloomberg on Tuesday released a poll giving the former secretary of state a whopping 12-point lead on Trump in a head-to-head matchup. A popular vote with results in that range would lead to an electoral landslide, too: according to a Frontloading HQ analysis, released Monday, Clinton destroys Trump in the electoral college, 358 to 180. Last week, an ABC poll showed her winning the national map with 262 to 191, assuming Trump takes all the Republican-leaning states.

Do you believe that President Obama underestimated ISIS when he called it the JV team?” Zakaria asked. “I don’t think it’s useful to go back and re-plow old ground,” Clinton said

I know a lot of the Clinton haters have been struggling to find a true "quid pro quo" among various speech fees and Clinton Foundation donations.  So in case you're not reading the Trump thread, let me help you out.

This is what a quid pro quo usually looks like. Attorney General begins investigation. Target of investigation makes substantial donation to Attorney General's campaign, which he hides by illegally making it from his "charity" and then not reporting it on the charity's returns. Attorney General subsequently drops investigation into target and later endorses him in his campaign for president. Find something like that and maybe you've got yourself a quid pro quo.

Once you've done that, you've just got to find examples of Clinton being clearly racist towards a sitting judge, advocating for state-sponsored religious discrimination, revoking press credentials from several newspapers in response to perceived unfavorable coverage, repeatedly demonstrating no grasp of basic federal government functions or foreign affairs issues, mocking a disabled person, retweeting white supremacists and intimating that the president of the United States supports radical Islamic terrorism, and your argument that Clinton is just as bad as Trump will be close to being valid.  Almost there!

ISIS is a JV team.  They are being crushed right now and that's without American soldiers on the ground.

Sorry....JV teams don't get seeded in the tournament.  Despite their being weakened now, there is no question they have been a legit force in the world of terror.  I said it was a stupid comment to make when Obama made it and it remains such.  It was a complete underestimation of this group by this administration.  Are they helping correct that error?  Yes.  Absolutely.  Had we been doing our jobs, it wouldn't have ever gotten to this point.  That part is a fail.

yes we just would have spent billions and 1000s of american lives propping up an area that just isn't going to work as a 'democracy'.  ISIL still would have existed and still would have been a problem.

terrorism can't be stopped, it can only be contained.  If the US is serious about "helping" the ME outside of getting at their oil, it would require several more military bases in the area and a continued presence from now until the sun burns out.  That's the reality.  This crap where we go remove one group so another can strengthen and come into power so we have got to go remove them so another can strengthen and grow.....has GOT to stop.  Might as well be throwing money directly into the fire place all the while destroying the well being of millions that didn't ask for it.

You're never gonna convince the die hard Sanders people. They need to think it was rigged.

Sanders still hasn't endorsed Hillary, but he's becoming more irrelevant by the day. All but a tiny handful of his supporters have moved on already.
Some folks are saying he missed his chance. Counted on his followers not shifting to Hillary without him. Guy might have really blown it.
