My wife works with a guy who plays in a country band.   A HRC representative was gracious enough to call them and asked them to play at an HRC event when she comes to NC next week.   Now of course they couldn't pay them but they would get a picture with her and it would be "great exposure".   Of course they said they wouldn't play for her even if they paid them and they couldn't pay them enough to take a picture with her either.
i'd have taken the gig and played Lyin Eyes all night long

Hey...I'm only speaking the truth.  I, like many others here, can see thru the partisan nonsense and see each candidate for the terrible choices that they are.  Hillary and Donald are two peas in a pod.

I can't say with any certainty that Donald is worse than Hillary or Hillary worse than the Donald.

:lmao:  Pretty sure that 'Merica can survive another sleazy corrupt politician in a long line of them (see: all of them). Not so sure we can survive a guy who wants to default on our national debt and give nukes to the Saudi Royal Family.

Anything worthwhile in these?  All I've seen are somewhat boring Q&A files, other than the original Donald Trump leak, which was awesome.

Again, bull####.

It may have been discussed in this thread but I haven't seen it.  I heard that a former Secret Service Agent for Bill Clinton when he was president is coming out with a book soon detailing stories about Bill and Hillary.  He said he couldn't stay quiet with good conscious about the shenanigans that went down behind the scenes.   I look forward to reading this book.

It's been brought up but not many details. FYI there's a separate thread for the sex stuff. - I think we all know it's a return to dysfunctionalism, or at a minimum rewarding the previously dysfunctional. We're going in circles as a country. But it's going to happen so here we go.

Btw even Hillary's oppo research on herself is wasted vs Trump who has no real professional staff and won't know how to bring any of it up and even if he did wouldn't have the people or means to do it.

It was a word doc.

Then I had something else pop-up about PCShowServerPMWrapper - which looks like something for directv
Truly sorry, I did that on my phone with nary a blip. Tbh I've been reluctant to click there, should've stuck with that, thanks.

The book is nonsense.  A bunch of Secret Service agents have said as much:

The author of a new tell-all book about Hillary Clinton could never have seen any of what he claims — he was too low-ranking — say several high-level members of Secret Service presidential details, including the president of the Association of Former Agents of the United States Secret Service.

On Tuesday, AFAUSSS, which is strictly nonpartisan, is set to release a statement blasting Gary Byrne author of “Crisis in Character,” saying members “strongly denounce” the book, which they add has made security harder by eroding the trust between agents and the people they protect.

“There is no place for any self-moralizing narratives, particularly those with an underlying motive,” reads the statement from the group’s board of directors, which says Byrne has politics and profit on his mind.

AFAUSSS rarely issues public statements of any kind.

The book has rankled current and former members of the Secret Service, who don’t like anyone airing their business in public — but who also take issue with Byrne inflating his role. Byrne was a uniformed officer in Bill Clinton’s White House. But that’s the lowest level of protection within the White House and around the president.

People familiar with West Wing security laugh at the idea that Byrne or any uniformed officer ever would have walked in on Bill Clinton anywhere, whether in a meeting or, as a New York Post article over the weekend claims, in the middle of a make-out session in the Map Room with the late daughter of former Vice President Walter Mondale. The Secret Service presidential detail would have stopped him. (That affair was a well-worn rumor during the Clinton years, though strongly denied by Eleanor Mondale, who died of brain cancer in 2011.)

“The inner perimeter is 100 percent controlled by the presidential protective division,” said a former supervisor of the presidential protective division, who asked not to be identified by name.

And if Byrne or any uniformed officer had been posted near a room the president entered, he would have been moved at least 15 yards away, to the outer edges of the security bubble — not quite what Byrne describes in his book: “I stood guard, pistol at my hip, outside the Oval Office, the last barrier before anyone saw Bill Clinton,” according to the Post, which has been teasing excerpts of the book.

“Operationally, one who has the working knowledge of how things are done there would realize that certain of those statements do not coincide with the operational plan,” said Jan Gilhooly, AFAUSSS president and a 29-year Secret Service veteran.

The group’s statement, which POLITICO obtained in advance of its release, very carefully calls Byrne a liar.

...

The author also contradicted the book himself in his testimony during the Ken Starr investigations.

I understand that this sort of sleaze has always held a particular appeal to Clinton opponents.  And there's even a good argument to be made that it helps Hillary in a "boy who cries wolf" kind of way- the nonsense "scandals" outnumber the legitimate concerns tenfold, so the legitimate concerns get lost in the noise.  I think Trump's about to find this out for himself.

Still, maybe this one time all the reasonable, intelligent Clinton haters can be better than your Breitbart-reading, tin foil hat wearing cohorts and disregard this crap?  How about it, friends?

Doubt there will be any real excitement between now and the week of July 11 -- which will be the final assault leading up to the Convention, where the recommendation to indict is made and the case against Clinton corruption amplified.  If it doesn't derail her by the Convention, we're looking at America's first queen.  And a shameful, dark, polarizing and unAmerican power grab, fraught with distractions.

Even hardcore Hillary lovers like squid and Tim shouldn't have any illusions who the Clinton's are....However, faced with the prospect of a trump presidency. :wall:

I'm sorry but Hillary should be disqualified on the basis of her mishandling of classified information alone. If you believe that she was ignorant or naive with regards to what was or was not classified, how to handle them, the whole unsecured private server thing, we are in deep trouble as a nation.  She's VERY SMART.  She knew exactly what she was doing and that makes it 1000 times worse.  Again, these are actions that have gotten people fired and incarcerated in the past  This disqualifies her.  We can't trust her.  She's not above the law.  Now, I appreciate honesty. Just say that you can't stand Trump, admit that Hillary is probably a felon, and that you'd vote for her even if she was a mass muderer and you'll earn a lot more respect than pretending that Hillary isn't a liar and a felon.

Their views of rainbows and unicorns concerning Hillary has been well documented throughout this thread.

So Trump is about to give a major speech in which he will apparently rehash all of the criticisms and accusations about Hillary Clinton that have been prevalent in this thread for the last year. No doubt we will be hearing about the Clinton Foundation, the email scandals, perhaps Bill's womanizing and earlier scandals.

It will be interesting to see if any of this sticks or has resonance beyond those who already hate Hillary.

I agree with this. SS agents should not be talking or commenting or scuttlebutting about the people they protect. And it won't make the SS's job with the Clintons any easier when they move back in, I sense that relationship was fraught with distrust from the Clintons in the 90s and their paranoia will likely find some purchase now.

Being a felon doesn't disqualify someone from being a Representative, Senator, or the President.

I really don't think Trump has the capacity to understand the substantive issues or convey them in a non-corrosive manner. And it doesn't help him that he almost matches Hillary/Bill one for one on almost every on of them. They have a for profit university issue, so does Trump, they have a sketchy foundation, so does Trump, Bill has sex allegations, so does Trump. I guess the email issue stands out as unique but I seriously doubt Trump understands it himself.

eta/btw - The IG report came out like 4 weeks ago? Trump's timing is impeccable.

That's all well and good, but that's not really the main point of the article. The bulk of it is just a bunch of Secret Service vets denouncing this one guy is entirely full of #### and explaining why he couldn't possibly have seen what he claims to have seen.

It would be nice if a few reasonable Clinton haters like yourself took the word of many Secret Service agents and the head of their veterans' org and rejected this sleaze instead of smearing it around.  If not because it's the right thing to do, then maybe because your real, legitimate complaints about Clinton might well get lost in this steaming pile of excrement?

This is such crap, Jon. There have been tons of wild unproven accusations made against Hillary Clinton and none of them have turned out to be true. If "rainbows and unicorns" is your way of describing a false, unrealistic narrative, then it would be far more accurate to apply that label to many of Hillary's critics in this thread and elsewhere who assume she is corrupt without evidence, you among them.

No it doesn't.  But she should be in jail and unable to serve because:

Violation of 18 U.S. Code § 798 — disclosure of classified information could apply to someone who “knowingly and willfully communicates, furnishes, transmits, or otherwise makes available to an unauthorized person” classified information. Someone guilty of this crime “shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both,” under the law.

Anther law, 18 USC 793 — gathering, transmitting or losing defense information also carries a penalty of an unspecified fine or imprisonment of up to 10 years, or both.

Both 793 and 798 fall under the broader 1917 Espionage Act.

Would a Trump presidency be a better alternative?

Whether any of her alleged conduct violated these laws have been discussed ad nauseam multiple times by myself and others in this thread.  If you search the thread for mentions of 793 I think you'll find those discussions.  I'd stick with 793 btw- the case for a violation of 798 based on "knowing and willful" disclosure of certain kind of classified information is very very thin.

Tobias, I didn't comment on it because I haven't looked at it yet. I know I have heard of this book but that's about all. But yeah up front if the SS vets are saying that the details of what this guy is saying are false, such as his positioning and operations, then yeah I think you have to start out thinking it's not trustable. It's a powerful statement by the SS I agree. If you want a statement from me that I trust the SS vets, yes I do. At any rate, I hadn't been planning to post on it and I still likely won't.

I have no idea if you're a new poster or just another alias but no matter how many times you repeat this nonsense, it's not true.

Which ones specifically are wild and unproven?  From Travelgate, to filegate to pardon-gate to the recent email-scandals....they are all true.  It is a matter is if they were illegal/criminal and can all the elements of a crime can be proven in a court of law with the team of lawyers stonewalling the process.  But the known facts prove there was wrong-doing.
