That's once. And yeah someone could be charged for it happening just once.

4-6 years, 2000 times, 110 times where the information was classified when it happened, 8 times when that information was the most sensitive kind of information on the books.

Maybe I missed your link to the Bush official, glad to look at it again if you want to repost it, however Democrat, Republican, liberal, conservative, in between, what this decision stands for is protection of officials at the highest level. I'm glad to see the opinion you posted but I think I've given a very reasonable argument for why the GN language could apply. If the Bush official states the same reasoning you did I guess I would have the same reply.
The Bush official is Comey.

Why do Republicans want Hillary indicted at this point?

Sanders and Biden are stronger candidates.
Sanders or Biden would be fine candidates.  It isn't about GOP vs Dems to me, in this case.  She's not going to be indicted, but I think Hillary should suspend her campaign and endorse Biden.. or Sanders.  Step aside and try to help Biden take down Trump.

Again highlighting the importance of honesty and trustworthiness in the presidency.

- eta - This country is nuts. Bush Sr. lied about taxes so we went and hired the Clintons. The Clintons lied about a bunch of things, so we decided we must have someone who will uphold the decency of the office. Bush Jr. lied about Iraq, so we must turn to Obama, who initially ran on change away from the Clintons. Now what do we do? Why we go back to the Clintons.
It might be even more nuts that you think.

I was going to mention this before. What politician out there (past or present) is or has been considered honest/trustworthy? I am in my mid-50s and only one (past or present) that I can think of right now that I truly believe is/was both honest and trustworthy is Bernie Sanders. Maybe I missed someone but that's honestly what I believe and it's pretty sad.

Jimmy Carter was and is a genuinely good and honest man. A good President? Not so much...

Oversight committee hearing just starting with Comey listening to this Chaffetz putz droning on. These wannabes all get their 5 minutes to generate a headline.

I have a stupid, :nerd: , nebbish interest in these controversies but the inability of Congress to do its job never ceases to amaze me. It's all been statements theater and :hophead: up to now.

I think it's getting worse. I can't recall anyone who so discredited themselves before going into the White House. And I think Obama has by and large been good in terms of people believing what he says (and I realize there are exceptions). And I agree on the comment on Carter (actually I think people might have preferred if he had lied to them a little bit more...). - Hillary has lied on this thing 16 months straight, nothing she has said on it has proven true except and only except that she would not be indicted.

Have to love how the press is happy to spill their dossiers of dirt now that the danger has passed.
Not too surprising. Remember: according to FOIA regarding Pagliano emails, he sent exactly two(?) using his state-issued ".gov" address over the duration of his employment.

Actually, I think Chaffetz totally taking the high road in the opening discussion with Cummings. I realize they are representing their political alliances but Chaffetz pretty much shut Cummings down.

Hillary has changed her education plan, taking college tuition ideas from Bernie Sanders:

http://mobile.nytimes.com/2016/07/07/us/politics/hillary-clinton-bernie-sanders-education.html
Doesn't really matter, but in her speech here in CLT, she said "free community college" which is a complete flip from her original "free college" (including books, room, board, tuition etc).  Now we are to believe she's settling on "free tuition"?  Won't go into how it's different from Bernie...he wasn't picking and choosing based on income, which is a significant difference.  Doesn't really matter what she says at this point.

Gowdy is hinting that Hillary’s intent was in her setting up her e-mail server, ie to enable the mishandling (unauthorized handling) of classified information.

Of course it matters.

No it doesn't.  Talk is cheap....she's proven that.

That guy can't get enough of being Clinton's punching bag. She has been pretty meh for months on the campaign trail but never looked better than when she sat in front of that dude and just made him look like a schmuck with the Benghazi stuff.

I mean, Trump could eliminate the DOE altogether.... oorrrr.... he could grant free tuition to everyone by executive order. Or he might just do what the Sec. of Education Gary Busey recommends. We don't know.

I think the GOP better get their kicks in now because having the House to pester Hillary in 2017 is no sure thing.

Gowdy is obviously personally angry.  Not for his job or this country.. its personal. He cant hide it at all.

Why don't they get Comey to say yes or no to some of these questions instead of allowing him to say "I don't believe so" Yes or no?

From where I sit on the political spectrum, there's plenty I'm ashamed, humiliated and embarrassed about, from a government and politics perspective, being a lifelong resident of the state of Maryland, from the local level, right up the ladder. Elijah Cummings isn't quite at the top of the list of the worst political/government characters to be generated from my state in the last several decades, but he's close. Partisan and divisive to the core, and nothing more than an ignorant thug. I've spent plenty of time traveling through portions of his congressional district, and interacting with people who reside there. It's like a 3rd world, and it's an embarrassment to the state and our country that regions so uneducated and ignorant exist. The whole region needs a drastic intervention of some kind. He's a fairly reflective representative of his constituency, so he's got that going for him...but that's no compliment by any stretch. Absolutely repugnant individual.

And this seems to be very similar to her initial proposal before it had to be compared to Sanders'.  Once shown side by side, she decided to go all in and promise even MORE than Sanders...now she's backtracking from her "all inclusive" to her true colors of "picking and choosing"

Wow. He's the only one who has asked reasonable questions so far. And his performance in the Benghazi committee was superb.

At least you now acknowledge it was a performance.  Both sides were epically bad in their own way and it was a complete waste of tax payer money.

I still maintain, no matter where you fall on Hillary and how bad/not bad this whole thing is, Comey is just nails.  Just love his approach to this whole thing.

This is a mess. A grand jury would have been better.

eta - This is an impossible position for one man to be in. I feel bad for him.

He's been awesome. This is the toughest spot anyone's been in since John Mitchell, seriously, whole election riding on him, going to bed at night must have been tough for a year at least.

These politicians are morons...no wonder the country is going to ####.  I want to punch half of them in the face.

Looks and sounds like Hillary is going to get hammered for telling lies upfront.
