Best is you will be gone after election day, like all the posters who appeared out of nowhere in 2012, who claimed they had been lurking for years, but just happened to start posting right before the election, but were gone forever after the first Tuesday in November like you will be gone starting Wednesday.

Probably the very first thing that you've posted that I agree with.

Although i haven't been "lurking for years", I did mention in my first post that I had been reading this thread for awhile and I wanted to get in on it.

Once the election is over, I expect this thread to be gone and also, as I originally posted, nothing else around here really interested me.

So yes...maybe after a victory lap or two on Wednesday....I will be gone after the election.

If Trump loses Nevada, Silver says he wins in only 9 percent of scenarios. That’s a far cry from the 35 percent mark Trump just touched. Trump’s campaign looks to be treating Nevada as a lost cause as he eyes richer electoral prizes like Michigan and Wisconsin that are even further out of his grasp. Even if Trump wins Ohio, Florida, Iowa, Arizona, North Carolina, and New Hampshire, he still loses the election. So he needs to wrestle a Midwestern state away from Clinton.

And of course, if Trump loses you will be the first to admit you called it wrong.

Also, this thread will not be gone, Tim will morph it into the Hillary Presidential Thread, or something else Hillary related. You think Tim will let this die, particularly if Hillary wins next Tuesday?

I haven't "called" anything.

I have simply stated (in various ways) that Hillary is a career criminal....the leader of an international crime syndicate who's only reason for wanting to be POTUS is for her own personal gain. She has total disdain for the American People and if she could make as much money running (ruining) any other country....she'd give it a shot.  Right now, our only chance to stop her is thru Donald Trump.

But maybe I just haven't made myself clear on this matter.

- It's the Baiji oil refinery, you'd think someone who had been there would know that.

- The Baiji oil refinery is currently unusable.

- haji is a Muslim who has been to Mecca as a pilgrim, odd way to refer to someone.

It wont' be because it was any kind of victory that I won....unless, of course, you count me among all of the other Americans who will have "won" ....that is....dodged a bullet....or a meteor....or the plague...or whatever.

Thank God, come Wednesday you will be back to supervising your 250 Latinos who all love Trump and will be ecstatic if he wins (even though their abuela will be deported).

And again I say to everyone here who thinks of themselves as a liberal to please take a look at the self confessed policy positions of her biggest supporter on this board and ask yourself " If Tim supports her how can she possibly be a liberal?".

1. Social issues: protection of gay and transgender rights, a woman's right to choose, etc.

2. Protection of Department of Education and EPA (vs Republicans who will gut them).

3. Protection of Obamacare (vs Republicans who will repeal it.)

4. Infrastructure spending.

5. Immigrant and refugee rights.

6. Protection of Dodd Franks (vs. Republicans who will repeal it.) THIS is one issue where she will defy Wall Street.

And most important for YOU, NC: she's going to nominate a Supreme Court Justice pledged to overturn Citizens United. That means that, eventually, you'll get the campaign finance reform stuff you want. You won't get it under Clinton, but she'll set the stage so that you'll get it later.

Its too early to say, although it would be fitting if Latino voters decided the presidency. There are competing trends in Florida. Favoring the republicans: older dem voters who've died in  the past 4 years, new residents in central and north Florida, including military retirees, new Cuban citizens (although not as pro-Trump as older Cubans).  Favoring the dems:  Puerto Ricans moving into the Orlando area at the rate of 1,000 per week for a couple of years, new non-Cuban Latino citizens, millennials populating new and revitalized urban cores.

Clinton has a big ground game in disenfranchised areas, so maybe it's made a difference. Spanish language media also won't let Trump get away with statements like "they're sending their rapists?"  Donald - how is Mexico sending them? The press was too easy with Trump.      

 
Let's be honest too: because the House of Representatives is going to stay Republican, the difference between Hillary and a more progressive Democrat like Bernie Sanders or Liz Warren, at least in terms of domestic affairs, become negligible. Basically whoever the Democratic President is will have one goal over the next 4 years: protect President Obama's accomplishments during the years 2009 and 2010. It's going to be a holding pattern until she can get the Congress she wants (which may never happen.)

This is not unprecedented. Harry Truman, in terms of domestic affairs, protected the New Deal. Jimmy Carter protected the Great Society. Bill Clinton pulled back from the Great Society (which I know is NC's biggest fear) but he had a Republican Congress willing to work with him. Hillary likely will not.

Now when it comes to foreign affairs she will accomplish much more, and if a progressive (particularly a more isolationist or pacifist progressive) wants to make a distinction between a Clinton presidency and a more progressive one in this area, that's a legitimate argument to have. But don't waste time talking about Wall Street or trade because even if Hillary wanted to there is nothing she could really do about either.

If Trump loses FL this is over before it started. He overplayed his hand, he was going to get the White Nationalist votes anyway, electoral suicide for himself specifically and the Republicans in general to "wake the sleeping giant" and systemically alienate the fastest growing demographic in the US. Colossally dunderheaded to think he could win without a broader coalition.
