Some thoughts on those polls:

Interesting that in 2012 the RCP average only missed one state, Florida, which Obama ended up winning by less than 1%.

If you apply just the RCP averages as they stand, Clinton would win by 303-229 electoral votes

If Florida misses again and goes to Trump, he would still lose 274-254

This explains a lot of why the campaigns are focusing on PA, MI, MN, WI, etc. Trump basically can't win if he doesn't flip one of those, in addition to running table in the swing states.

That he felt some obligation to reach a conclusion prior to the election after making such an obvious unforced error releasing the letter to Congress in the first place does speak well of him IMO.

 
This is frigging hilarious. CNN just had Carl Bernstein on the phone, and he's saying that he's talked to several Republicans in Congress who are really angry at Comey, and they're vowing they are not going to let this go. They're going to have Huma testify, and maybe Weiner as well, and Comey again,  and they're going to get to the bottom of this!

Bernstein went on to say this story from the beginning never compared in any way to Watergate (which is a reverse of what he said just a week ago!) and that it was always a minor issue, a poor decision by Hillary but nothing criminal.

There are literally several thousand emails involved here, and who knows how many that were not just between Hillary and Huma. Not reasonable to expect Hillary to know what is in these. But she is calling for the release of them to the public ASAP, so it can't too bad and even Comey has no idea as to their significance. This should turn out to be a big nothing burger, not the smoking gun you are hoping for.

Still waiting for any comments from the usual suspects who kept saying Comey had to know what was in the emails or he wouldn't have reopened the investigation.

Well, guess what? We were right, Comey hadn't seen the newly discovered emails and had no idea as to their content - for if he had he never would have sent that letter to Chaffetz.

Yep. And surprise surprise they were almost all duplicates and the ones that weren't were personal, so it didn't take a whole lot of time to go through. 

 
I guess this means Trump is going back to the "Hillary is gonna let in a million bazillion gazillion immigrants in the first week" garbage.

 
What I really enjoyed was the debates about whether or not Obama would pardon Hillary, whether or not she could pardon herself, how many months before she was impeached. That was all a whole lot of fun. 

 
By the way, I still think Hillary has probably done something shady here. She got her own email server in order to skirt the FOIA. And in so doing she weakened national security, though not intentionally. Her Foundation does good work but is also somewhat of a sham; it's sleazy.  And Hillary has been deceptive about her connections to corporations. 

I really liked Hillary about a year ago; I like her a lot less now. I'll probably be a harsh critic depending on what she does as President. But I am oh so glad she's going to get there.
