*** Official Jaguars have NO CHANCE in Pittsburgh thread *** (1 Viewer)

With apologies to BassNBrew, here's why:

-Lost in all of the hoopla of the Jaguars victory, is the fact that the Steelers DID manage to run for 100 yards against them.

-Another fact from that game is that the Jags defense DID blow a 15 point lead.

-You have to think that **** LeBeau will come up with some adjustments to take away the draw on 3rd and long that the Jaguars used so effectively.

- Mike Tomlin has never lost a home playoff game as head coach

- Roethlisberger and Hines Ward are rested heading into this game. Ward has been banged up all year and giving Roethlisberger wheels a chance to rest might be huge as he sidesteps a defender looking for Heahh Miller.

- No visiting team has ever won twice in a month at Pittsburgh.

- David Garrard has never won a playoff game.

- No visiting team has ever won in Pittsburgh both in the regular season and in the playoffs.

- The last time the Jags won a playoff game, it was at the expense of Dan Marino and Jimmy Johnson.

- In the conspiracy department, the Stillers get much better national TV ratings than the Jags.

Not sure why you're even trying to start a "lack of respect" thread for the Jags..... :goodposting: . Everyone and their brother has picked the Jags to win this game. We should be starting a similar thread like this for the Steelers....

And you'll also be happy to know that I took Auburn on New Year's Eve.

JB, dont mean to offer up an insult in way, shape or form, but is this the take of a Jags fan? Or are you a Philly guy?

I agree that Jax will not beat the Steelers. I actually think they are going to blow the Jags out (weather permitting).

I'm an Eagles fan but also a Jags season ticket holder.
Im with ya. Outstanding. Loyalty to the roots, support for the local team. Just wondering how you were finding it so impossible for these guys to lock in a win this week. Im a big fan of the reverse psychology approach, being that Im as superstitious as they come. So, in my case, I never like to see a guarantee FOR a team win. Now, a guarantee for a LOSS? That's an approach I find useful. I support alot of your reasoning. Its really tough to go on the road and beat the same team twice in their house in such a short span. And Ive liked the Steelers in this game for that and the fact that theyre proven playoff winners. But football being a game of attrition, Pittsburgh is really up against it right now. Theyre a banged up team right now, and it levels the playing field to the point of this being a straight up pick 'em for me. If ever Jacksonville is going to figure out how to win a playoff game, this week is the time to do it.

The Jags are lock to go home losers. Can't fight destiny!

Not sure what any of your points have to do with THIS game.Pittsburgh is in shambles, and the Jags have a better shot than most WC teams do of winning an away game. It doesn't mean they will, but to say they have no shot is just a dumb statement.

Yup...top shelf material. Surprised that people remember that far back...I may have to pass my torch.

Tomlin is using all of the motivational tools at his disposal.

Steelers Notebook: Exhaustive replay wearing on SteelersThursday, January 03, 2008By Ed Bouchette, Pittsburgh Post-GazetteOn television set after television set throughout the Steelers' training facility, their version of Groundhog Day played. On an endless loop, the Steelers game Dec. 16 against Jacksonville played on. And on, and on. The show started Sunday night and continued yesterday. The ending never changed: Jaguars 29, Steelers 22. The video replay was as torturous as waterboarding to some of them."Honestly, you get tired of it," quarterback Ben Roethlisberger said yesterday. "You want to watch SportsCenter. You want to see something else: CNN, I don't know, the cooking channel. I don't want to see that."Who needs bulletin board material when you have the real thing on TV?"I am getting tired of seeing it," cornerback Ike Taylor said. "I am sure it's for a reason. We just have to go out and do what we need to do. It was a disappointing loss. They played a great game. We have another opportunity to play them again."

Yes but I wonder if the Steelers players are understanding the intent of the video. It seems like most of them are just annoyed. Kind of hard to get motivated when you're constantly annoyed......

Motivation is the last thing I am worried about with the Steelers on Saturday.

If the Steelers tackle well, they win this game pretty easily IMO

It's a big if, they haven't tackled well for the last month, but it's my opinion. A few missed tackles here and there in the last game and it is a W for the Steelers, and I don't think the Jags are as good as people are making them out to be, especially on defense.

The Steelers may end up with a win in this game, but it won't come "easily".

 It's conceivable to see the Jags winning this game "easily" but it's inconceivable to see the Steelers winning the game "easily" regardless of how well they tackle.......

Let me re-phrase, convincingly, 10 pts.

I think the Steelers and LeBeau make the adjustments. With the cold weather and the home crowd - I think the Steelers take them.

OK.

The Steelers have made a few tickets available for sale via ticketmaster to tomorrow night's playoff game. The tickets became available because of returns from the Jaguars.

A buddy of mine at work is pumped because he was able to buy tickets to a Steelers game for the first time since 2001.

To me, it kind of means the same as being owned. Kind of like you're being dominated. To tell you the truth, I have no idea what "the point" means. What does it mean?
