***Official Jays Thread*** They spent $234 Million on this? (1 Viewer)

Bullpen is going to be filthy. Best in the majors when Stroman is back?

C: Osuna

8: Sanchez/Stroman

7: Lowe/Shultz/Hawkins

Cecil for lefties. Loup for the minors.

Stroman being stretched out to start. I can't imagine he actually starts a game, but it he can be a 3-4 inning guy when someone has a rough beginning, that could be huge.

Or #### it, give Price game 1 of the ALDS, Stroman game 2.

Yankees have to be scared ####less right now. 0.5 back, all the momentum with Jays, plus, this is just a better team.

#### it,

Just bought tix for Sep 19-20 vs. Boston, Sep 21-23 vs. NYY and Sep 26 vs. Tampa. Flex pack so I can get access to playoff tickets. But I think these cone on a card and my plan of selling a couple sets to cover the cost may have been foiled...

I am glad the Royals are going to miss the Jays until the ALCS. I don't know at this point who will have home field. Quite a nice run and a very talented team.

What mistake? Leaving Price in too long?

Can't be that he brought in Sanchez.
I wanted him to take Price out at the start of the 7th. Sure he was up 3-0 but the Yankees were hitting him consistently and his pitch count was getting up there.

If not then, then he should have done it after McCann got on. Easy call given how well Headley was hitting him all game and the pitch count.

May not have made a difference of course but I felt those would have been prudent moves.

I had no problem with Sanchez in there.

Yeah I thought Sanchez would have been in to start the 7th as well.

The big mistake is carrying 8 relievers and not having a righty on the bench to pinch hit for Revere. With the way the rotation has been pitching there is absolutely no need for 8 guys.

Yep. Hawkins is good vs. lefties, I have no idea why Loup is here instead of say Pompey (really Danny Valencia).

Dumping Valencia is looking really bad. It'll be moot once the rosters expand but with how many off days they have this month it really makes no sense at all. Loup, Hendricks or Schultz could have all been sent down to keep Valencia.

Based on the insanity I'm seeing surrounding 2 losses on Twitter, a lot of Leafs fans became Jays fans last week but its OK, they're already one more loss away from not being fans anymore.

you talking about this guy who has 0 posts on this entire thread?https://forums.footballguys.com/forum/index.php?/topic/663604-official-2015-yankee-thread-win-one-for-tulove-you-buddy/?p=18260825
They're coming out of the woodwork all over, there's tweets today about wanting Suzuki back (I think he meant Kawasaki), and there's always a relentless stream of people wanting to "Fire Gibson".

One thing we can all agree on though is Aaron Loup is done.

####### smart people crying for Revere to lead off now and move Tulo to 5th in the order, they've still won 14 of 17 since that trade you stupid ####s.

Probably need to ignore Twitter before I ifight someone, sometimes you get Tanaked, no big deal, get 'em tomorrow with  Hutch

There's a bit of a fight over creative usage of The North between the Jays and Raptors...since the Raptors started it, Jays are staying away.

Well you can put me in the "Tulo should not be leading off right now" camp. I can't recall him leading off with a hit, yet. A walk, or two, but no hits - weak ground outs and strike outs is pretty much al we've seen. I think it's time to move him back to a spot more traditional for him. Revere hasn't been much better at the plate so not sure he should move up but I think Tulo needs to move down.

He leads off once a game. That's it.

Would you rather have Revere getting 5AB and Tulo get 4?

I love that they're letting Tulo lead off. Managers get too ####### cute with trying to have "speed" guys at the top of their lineup instead of just trying to pack as many AB's in for your best hitters as possible. Donaldson's not a classic "2" hitter and that's obviously working out fine.

Toronto should've efficiently sprinkled those last couple losses into their 37 game winning streak and then nobody would be complaining.

People can be pretty silly sometimes. Don't know how more AB's to Revere the way he's hitting these days would help anyone.

Nice win to salvage a game and get back to .5 back. Consecutive good starts from Hutch.

Severino pretty damn good too and if Beltran doesn't lose one in the sun, could conceivably have shut Jays out today.

Drew Hutchison optioned to AAA.

They are going to roll with a 4 man rotation for a bit.

Move makes sense but what does it do to a guys confidence??? You just pitched two gems last week, your reward is a bus trip to Buffalo.

I don't particularily think Hutch is great but when on he does have the stuff to win games for them where I see Buehrle more as a guy that is more of a not lose games type.

Two OF bats thankfully. Hague and Carrera.

Likely just a temporary thing with the off days coming up allowing them to use a 4 man rotation.

Loup has also been sent down.

The off days lend to doing this perfectly, sucks for Hutch but it's all about what's best for this year.

Jays game Friday night was the most watch event in Sportsnet history, averaging over 2 million viewers and peaking at over 3 million for the Tulo at bat at the end.

For perspective for Americans visiting the thread, that's 10% of the population of Canada, and Sportsnet is the exclusive NHL rights holder in Canada, so more people are watching the Jays than the Leafs or any other hockey game.

It narrowly beat out Johnny LaRue's farewell episode on SCTV but television viewing habits have changed a lot since then.
