Tonight's results are pretty depressing. I wish the American people were better than this. Sadly, perhaps they're not.
There are just absolutely no good options on either side but maybe we deserve this.Tonight's results are pretty depressing. I wish the American people were better than this. Sadly, perhaps they're not.
Is he going to drop out now too? Or does he still think he has a chance?CNN: Kasich now in the 4th place in a two man race.
ITS OVER JOHNNYIs he going to drop out now too? Or does he still think he has a chance?
Tso true.I guess Kasich will do anything not to have to show up for his job as Governor.
He's already said he is staying in.Is he going to drop out now too? Or does he still think he has a chance?
It's been working well so farHe's already said he is staying in.
CNN: Kasich now in the 4th place in a two man race.
The “Late Show” host on Tuesday mocked the Ohio governor’s continued presence in the 2016 race despite his mathematical impossibility of a win, noting that he even trails behind Sen. Marco Rubio, who suspended his campaign in March.
“It’s like the old saying: Quitters never win, but they still beat John Kasich,” Colbert said.
100% agree. At some point it not just about you, it's about the issues and your proposals...why not hold out for a couple of more weeks? he's been at it this long, why not see how Oregon and New Mexico turn out?
I always find it odd when a candidate drops out right after Iowa.. you set up for a year to run a campaign and you have one bad day and you drop out.. Rand Paul who wasn't ever going to be president should have gone to New Hampshire, maybe he could have made some waves.. at some point you are pot committed..
I would be sick to my stomach if this happened. It would completely undermine the character I thought this guy had.Trump Kasich 2016?
Trump? Yeah, I guess, settling for that little dirtbag weasel as his VP. Kasich is a vile piece of scum that I hope gets that new super untreatable gonorrhea from England. Seriously, f that guyI would be sick to my stomach if this happened. It would completely undermine the character I thought this guy had.
My favorite part was about all the people that want to hug himMan, his speech bordered on absurd. Could almost see his head swell during it. Thinks because of his campaign tourism is going to go up in Ohio? Geez.
I don't think the article is accurate at all. Cruz and Kasich dropped out at the same time for the same reason -- it became obvious that Trump would reach 1237 delegates.SaintsInDome2006 said:Yep, that's right and it's an excellent article. Dead on.
Makes me sick to think that's what he was doing, it had occurred to me but I always though 'naahhhhh'. I'm sold now. Sad and pathetic but that's politics.
People can completely 100% stop the Trump Vs the Establishment theme for once and all. Trump is the Establishment candidate.

Heard a sound bite on news radio on the way to work today. Trump said he puts the chances of his VP being one of the guys who ran against him around 40%. He went on to say how he made some good friends out of that group.... and then also made a few enemies "I suppose". Then another sound bite was him specifically talking about Kasich and said something along the lines that he respects him and he is a good guy but that he really did not think that that would happen. Again, this is straight from Trump's mouth.Even better will be watching all the Trump fans who called Kasich a loser and bashed him all along...to now talk about how great he is and how he will seal the win.
TerribleGood article that has a timeline theorizing that Kasich stayed in the race to stop Cruz (and in turn for that be Trump's VP nominee)

Where is this coming from?Trump? Yeah, I guess, settling for that little dirtbag weasel as his VP. Kasich is a vile piece of scum that I hope gets that new super untreatable gonorrhea from England. Seriously, f that guy
It is a way of reaching out an olive branch to Kasich and his supporters. Hey, we like you enough to vet you/your guy- vote for us.Where is this coming from?
Also, Kasich said he wasn't going to be anyone's VP. Trump saying he'll vet Kasich means nothing.
I do find it odd that everyone was saying they wanted it to become a 2 person race and that's when you'd see Trump look vulnerable as his negative opinion polls were so high. Then only a few hours after it becomes a 2 person race the final man standing drops out. Obviously it would have been unlikely for anyone to catch Trump at that point but you have to think some kind of deal was made. After all, Trump has berated us over and over with the fact he's a deal maker.I don't think the article is accurate at all. Kasich was also out of money and wasn't going to get any media coverage. He also didn't do nearly as well in New York and Pennsylvania as he had hoped and Indiana was the final nail in the coffin as there was no realistic shot of a contested convention.Willie Neslon said:I do find it odd that everyone was saying they wanted it to become a 2 person race and that's when you'd see Trump look vulnerable as his negative opinion polls were so high. I hear you, just seems a tad bit odd that what he was pining for for months finally happens and hours later he bows out.Kasich was also out of money and wasn't going to get any media coverage. Yes, if that was the only piece of information you had it would seem odd. In context, though, it doesn't seem odd at all. Cruz and Kasich were both staying in hoping for a contested convention. When it became obvious that wasn't going to happen, they both dropped out.I hear you, just seems a tad bit odd that what he was pining for for months finally happens and hours later he bows out.
Yep I agree, standup guy. This should get more coverage.I really respect this guy. I had a feeling he'd stand by him principles.

Not a great look for winning Ohio.Good for him, means ZERO!
Ohio voters I'm sure are in love with Obama and want another 4 years of that same policy. These folks think they have big sway, Trump got more votes than anyone, his base is made up of folks who detest Kasich type GOP'ers so I don't think it matters much right now. If Kasich wants to campaign for Hilary, good for him.Not a great look for winning Ohio.
Yeah all that's great, Trump still needs Ohio and it's a lot harder with Kasich not in support.Ohio voters I'm sure are in love with Obama and want another 4 years of that same policy. Trump is the GOP nominee, you either deal with it or start a new party and hand it over to Clinton, it's up to them. It's like cry babies hollering the refs blew it after they lost in the Playoffs.
People are still not understanding the people who are voting for Trump instead of focusing on Trump himself.
If Trump doesn't win Ohio there really is no way he can win the presidency.Yeah all that's great, Trump still needs Ohio and it's a lot harder with Kasich not in support.
As for the rest of what you say, politics is politics and the fact that Trump can't even wrap up his own party and is alienating deep red states like Utah and Kansas is a flaw of his, deal with that.

We may have discussed this before. Let's just say I acknowledge the idea that the parties have ignored their bases' desires and have screwed the economy in some fundamental ways."People are still not understanding the people who are voting for Trump instead of focusing on Trump himself."

I'm not trying to shame/1-up you SiD, but you made my point. Until all the anti-Trump peeps both left/right address the voters nothing is going to be solved. People who are outraged at Congress or Gov't and latch onto Trump like a brand is no different than someone who commits an act of terror hiding under the ISIS flag. How do you like them apples?
But in either case we need to examine what is the root of all the anger/hostility. To this point most folks seem incapable or have the ostrich head in the sand policy towards understanding voters in this country.
I keep being labeled a big Trump supporter but I am more fascinated with the process and the psychology of the voters in this country. Seems like people want change again, we'll see how serious they really are. If Clinton wins as a plodding centrist, then this country is pretty much all talk no bite.
But he's all most folks got and he's close to electable simply as a populist if he can stop putting his foot in his mouth. He still had the most resonating line of the week, I guarantee it's what many heard and that was when he said "They want to take your guns and open the borders" and I'll prove it.We may have discussed this before. Let's just say I acknowledge the idea that the parties have ignored their bases' desires and have screwed the economy in some fundamental ways.
I'm fine with that discussion, you and I can find common ground I bet. But this is still about Trump. Ok so he's a vessel for the people's rejectionsry attitude, fine, but he's a terrible 'fix' for the problems, he exacerbates them IMO.
You're talking about a reform candidate, which I would support, but Trump is not that.
I'll assume you'll have the same feeling about Trump once he loses the general.Good for him, means ZERO!
If you are a member of the GOP and you opt to vote for Clinton or be passive aggressive and not vote, your right to do so.I'll assume you'll have the same feeling about Trump once he loses the general.
