Official Johnny Manziel Thread (1 Viewer)

Can he play football or not? If he can, then Homie can pay hookers to pull ben wa balls out of his ### till dawn for all I care. If he can't, then he can party in obscurity till the money is gone - none of my business.
Well, now we know Ray Farmer's FBG username.

unless he's going back to college, no. He can not play.

All this stuff really is fantastically hilarious though.

The local guy here (Donovan) telling the story of "Bill" was just ####### hilarious

Jeez, now he showed up drunk to the browns facility:

ESPN Cleveland's Bruce Hooley was told by colleague Tony Grossi that Johnny Manziel showed up to the Browns' facility "disheveled and inebriated" earlier in the week.
This is an even bigger deal than being in Vegas the night before the game and while in concussion protocol.
Are you sure he was in the protocol before showing up smashed at practice? Farmer and Pet try to cover that up with the concussion story? This is bizarre.
No, I meant he was in the protocol Saturday when he was in Vegas. - The whole thing is bizarre. I think he was put into the protocol on Wednesday, it's unclear when during the week the report that he showed up drunk was from, but they said "earlier in the week."

In November of this year he talked about drafting a QB "if a great one falls, like Roethlisberger or Manziel"

How anyone (other than intentionally blind Browns fans who were understandably praying for the best) could use the word "great" about Johnny Football as late as November 2015 is beyond me.

We won't even talk about putting him in the same class as Roethlisberger.

Hell, Johnny should aspire to be Cousins.
If Manziel goes to Dallas he would be a backup, if he beats out say a Kellen Moore. "Great ones" don't aspire to be backups.

It would be pretty funny if Stephen Jones stays his daddy's hand again and Manziel is not invited there. Johnny would be in quite a pickle then because at least 1/2 of the league's teams must have a red cross through his name from the get-go.

This is in jest, but has anyone stopped to think that he may intentionally be screwing up in order to get himself a one way ticket out of Cleveland? After all the BBQ in Dallas has to be just slightly better than in Cleveland.

He reminds me a little of Todd Marinovich, he has his demons and he probably won't ever be able to shake them. How many players with boatloads of potential ever amounted to anything after a start like he has had in the NFL?

I don't think Manziel is intelligent enough to come up with any kind of plan. I think it's just a case of a spoiled little frat boy who refuses to grow up. If he had actually produced when given his chance this year or last, then he might have a little leverage to be trying to influence where he plays next year. He's so close to not even being an NFL quarterback that he really should be trying to avoid the beer, coke, and parties. I'm sure he's hearing the ruimors of interest from the Cowboys and considers them a safety net, but Jerry's son has been steering him away from these mistakes lately (Greg Hardy notwithstanding).

Do you know the Todd Marinovich story??

Doesnt remind me of him at all

Regardless of whether you believe Johnny is partying to get cut, his dream scenario is for the Browns to cut him.

They are a dumpster fire. Nearly any other situation is a better situation for him.
his dream scenario should be "NFL Starter". He had that situation and didn't give a ####.

We do not know it to be a fact that Johnny is an alcoholic, though it is pretty clear that he likely is one. His high school coach who went and lived with Johnny this summer and loves the kid...he knows it to be a fact.

Although not the same story, there certainly are some similarities. Especially the partying.

Okay, so let's say it is true that Johnny came to the facilities early in the week drunk and got sent home. Pettine and Farmer don't want to deal with the issue again, so they say he is in the league's concussion protocol as a reason for him not to play the last week of the season. I could see that, except for the fact that I would think the league has some guidelines that teams and players have to follow regarding concussion protocol and that they could get in a lot of trouble if it is was found out they used the protocol to hide player misconduct.

So the alternative, I think, if it is true that he came to the facility drunk, is that he actually was on concussion protocol first, Pettine told him he probably would not play that week, and then Johnny showed up drunk at the facility because he figured he was not playing anyway, or he could force the Browns to cut him.

Whether Johnny is doing these things to get cut, or he is doing things just because he likes to do it, he is displaying the maturity of my six year old son. Good luck to him in the future, but it is hard to see him ever amounting to anything in the NFL, let alone life.

He very well MIGHT be. Can't really dispute that, but people throw the word "alcoholic" around rather irresponsibly.

There is an enormous difference between someone who drinks too much or drinks irresponsibly and/or parties too much and an actual alcoholic.

For the people who are absolutely convinced that he is an alcoholic, I wonder how many legitimate alcoholics you actually know.

Well,

if someone throws away their dream job of NFL QB because they cannot stop dinrking, it is a pretty bad sign

going into rehab for a couple of months and still not stopping, kind of a bad sign too

having a mentor come live with you to straighten you out and then having him say he cannot believe you are drinking, and saying that if you think you can have one or two drinks and be ok you are insane, also a VERY bad sign

It seems all of his problems kindof stem from alcohol. Add to the rehab stint then its not a broad leap to make.

Outside of Jerry Jones acting like Al Davis 2.0, why in the holy hell would Dallas (or any team for that matter) want to add this headcase to your roster and all that comes with it. Its almost like the inverse Tebow and all the media circus that goes with signing him. Why in the hell would you want that distraction?

It seems all his problems stem from him being an idiot.

He was in vegas at a strip club wearing a disguise. I guess we need to know if this idea came to him sober or drunk.

Jerry is an idiot

Cleveland media guy just tweeted there's video coming out soon of him raging in the wig. Get cha popcorn ready...
You may not have been able to party with Johnny Billy in Vegas, but you can still celebrate it with a "Billy" Vegas t-shirt!

I've been digging into this and what I have found is disturbing.

Many in the media are expressing real deep genuine concern for the well-being of the person Johnny Manziel. It seems like he has a real substance abuse issue that is very serious. Its much more serious than him being a young immature kid or him being stupid or a jerk. This guy is in trouble according to many who have covered the story and I am backing off piling on because this stuff isn't funny anymore.

If a drunk is all he is he would or could simply get bloto at home. The kid is an abuser of drugs and alcohol, I have no doubt, but his addiction is to excitement, to nightlife, to hotties and to being the center of attention. That he cannot get quietly at home.

I changed my tone on him a while ago, or tried to, because of this

on the field he's still an overated idiot to me, but i seriously want this kid to turn his life around before somehting very bad happens

though even after he turns it around id do not want him on the cowboys
If he turns it around, we're back to the original (much more fun) questions: Can he be effective inside structure? We all know he can run around and do stuff but that's got to work off of structure.

Don't know if we'll get to find out, though.

Well, you should change it back. Ghostguy said he isnt an alcoholic. Stop pretending he is.

My thoughts exactly. He'll have a reality show when hes out of the league in two years.

The only thing Johnny doesn't have is a crazy celebrity GF/Wife. Someone along the lines of a Miley Cyrus. Thankfully, he has the off-season to add that to his arsenal.

Not a celebrity perhaps, but the incident in the car made it seem like the GF may well meet the crazy part.

I think he's just working up to celebrity, privileged crazy. At least I hope so. But yes, he is at least going for crazy, which is good.

Watch out, Brother! You are dangerously close to making sense, which means you may have to defend your position to a sizable contingent of new age rehab babies who are obsessively compelled to label every issue an "ism."

Perfect match, presuming she would be fine with him bedding other whores, with or without her, which I presume is true. She is not really attractive enough to keep any man's attention and her out of control little girl whore act would get old quick with out some variety. Also, say what you will, but Johnny seems to have an eye for hot women, as opposed to skinny little posers.

I may be immune to that sort of criticism. I am old enough that I am approaching my dotage. I am more or less tolerated my eccentricities as folks sort of feel sorry for my failing faculties. They see me as a dying anachronism. It is wonderful license really.

Just saw on Twitter that the Bears are 25-1 odds of landing Manziel.. Between Cutler and him, the levels of not giving a F would be astounding.

Is there a reason of some kind for the Bears?

Say the Cowboys didn't want Manziel. How many teams would want him? Fox and Manziel doesn't sound like a good match.

I'm a native Chicagoan, so follow all the local sports/news feeds. Vegas had posted odds of Manziel going to different teams, the tweet was just Bears-centric.

If Chip Kelley lands with S.F. I could see Billy Vegas there otherwise it's the Cowboys.
