***Official Julius Thomas Hype Train*** (2 Viewers)

Think this one might run up to the end of the week. Absolutely nothing on WW for me as the likes of Fleener, Graham, Housler etc have been picked up in recent weeks. Luckily, a guy that has 4 Eagles and 4 Seahawks on bye this week had to drop Gates to get in an RB so I've put a claim in for him as cover.

Who else does anybody like as cover for JT this week ? Think someone might beat me to Gates.

Carlson ?

Walker or clay? Both those guys available on mine. .. but I don't really want to carry 2 tes

Own JT and Reed .. so both pay late so I don't know what to do there .. also have McCoy DJackson on byes and DMart and Wayne on the shelf (dynasty) so have been relying on the two TEs.

I picked up DWalker and am seriously considering picking up GGraham as well as he was dropped before his game last week.

Carlson seems to be a favorite target of Ponder but hate that O in GB if AP is hurt

Clay is there actually. Walker is gone. Carrying two TE will work out ok for me this week. Got Panthers D, drop Jets that I used last week, carry the extra TE then drop next week to add the Bills and pair them with Panthers ( on my WW ) ROS. Still very hopeful that JT makes it though, I think he lucked out in that the impact during the play where he got hurt, stopped short of hyper extending his knee too badly. Looked to me at the time that he had a lucky avoidance of a much worse injury.

In order of preference:

Brandon Myers vs Dallas - I'd start any player vs the Dallas D right now and Myers had a good game against them week one. Lee+Durant out. Carter+Sims+the safeties are very burnable. Eli and the Giants are playing better, too.

Heath Miller vs CLE. - Sanders banged up, Brown will get shut down by Haden, Big Ben will be looking his way a lot.

Dreesen - wait for more info on JT, but Dreesen will start if he can't go and Peyton Manning's starting TE is never a bad last resort.

Ladarious Green - has the skills, but whether last week's 4-81 was a coming out party or a bit of a fluke as to his usage going forward remains to be seen. Tough matchup vs KC, would wait and see on him. But bump him up if Allen can't go.

Mychal Rivera vs TEN - Verner+McCourty can shut the OAK WRs down. McGloin may have to throw his way all day. 5-54-1 with McGloin last week. Do not start if Pryor is QB, as he will run before checking down to the TE.

Brandon Bostick vs MIN, a year too early on him, but the matchup is good and he's better than Quarless..

Dallas Clark vs NYJ. Another team bad at defending TEs. The addition of Ed Reed gives me some pause, but it's one old man vs another. Note that Pitta won't help this week, but keep him in mind as a playoff stash. Eligible to come off the IR now, but not practicing yet. Ravens need him badly and are still in the playoff hunt.

Just picked up Walker. .if julious is probable I will play him for sure. Anything less and I am starting Walker. I would not want to have dreesen as a backup plan for thomas. If Thomas is out they will just throw more to the wrs and rbs imo

Same plan I am rolling with ..glad I am not the only one thinking this way ... now off to the Reed thread to worry about another TE not playing

Rotoworld:

Julius Thomas (knee) is not practicing Wednesday.

Thomas is day-to-day with a knee strain, but the Broncos have yet to update the full details of the injury. His Week 12 status remains up in the air. Fantasy owners need to have a backup plan ready in case Thomas is held out this week. He'll be locked in as a TE1 if active for Sunday night's game against the Patriots.

Julius Thomas practicing Thu Nov 21, 02:13 PM

Denver Broncos TE Julius Thomas (knee) returned to practice Thursday, Nov. 21, after sitting out Wednesday, Nov. 20

Rotoworld has a blurb up saying he was very limtied in practice today. Not trending well. The Train may be derailed this weekend...

The blurb that FBG just sent out has me worried:

Fantasy owners need to watch this situation closely. Thomas has a minor knee issue and Broncos insider Mike Klis told ESPN Denver that Thomas could possibly miss this week's game against the Patriots

I may be guilty of viewing the news through orange-colored glasses, but I think the fact he's practicing at all bodes well for Sunday.

Why not limit JT when he's got two lower body injuries and it is Week 12?

The benefit he might get in reps is far lower than the benefit he gets from rest and more wear and tear. The Broncos will need him in particular if Welker can't go. At this point, the fact he's on the field at all suggests he'll play Sunday. Maybe 80% at best but I'll take that.

True it's not what we want to read, but there's nothing new here or anything suggesting his prognosis is worse. I think we already knew there was a chance he'd miss Sunday night's game prior to the blurb. Maybe it's just me.

RW:

Julius Thomas (knee) returned to Broncos practice Thursday, but appeared "very limited."

It's possible Thomas will receive a "DNP" tag. Thomas' Week 12 status is still very much in the air. Fantasy owners need to have a back-up plan ready, especially since Denver is playing in the Sunday night game. Thomas' status will be updated no later than Friday afternoon

From rotoworld:

Julius Thomas (knee) participated in Broncos practice again Friday.
Per USA Today's Lindsay Jones, Thomas "looked to be doing more in individual drills than yesterday," which is a good sign. Although he likely won't be 100 percent, Thomas now appears on track to start Sunday night's game against New England, where he'll continue to be a good bet for red-zone scores. Thomas' ten receiving touchdowns are second among tight ends behind only Jimmy Graham, who took the NFL lead with his 11th on Thursday night.

This sounds good. Anyone out there have a good Denver writer that has additional info?

Glad to hear it ..keeping him in my lineup

Me too. As long as I don't hear anything negative he's starting for me

Rotoworld update:

Julius Thomas (knee) is listed as questionable for Week 12 after another limited practice on Friday.

Thomas was noticeably limited during both Thursday and Friday's practices. While signs still point toward Thomas being active against New England, it's entirely possible he'll be used in a rotation with Joel Dreessen, Jacob Tamme, and Virgil Green. In fantasy leagues, we'd still lean toward starting Thomas in the event indications continue to side with him being available. Fantasy owners need to track the situation closely entering Sunday.

On second thought I think I will start walker. My waivers lock at noon Sunday so I would not be able to pickup dreesen and I don't want to carry him right now. Unless we hear for sure hes playing early sunday afternoon guess I am starting Walker

Lindsay Jones is a long time Bronco beat writer. She is as locked in on Denver as anyone.

The quoted part is all she said, though. The "on track" part is all Rotoworld. Her tweet actually emphasized his limitations. She did confirm Dreessen would take his place so I'm dumping someone like McFadden and just starting whichever one.

It would be nice if Cecil Lammey could come in here with his "official" opinion on the matter.

ETA - I just checked Cecil's twitter, and FWIW he said he doesn't think Thomas plays.

Rotoworld:

FOX Sports' Jay Glazer reports Julius Thomas (questionable, knee) would need a "miracle" to convince the Broncos to let him play on Sunday Night Football against New England.
Thomas should be penciled out of fantasy lineups in tonight's latest game. Look for Joel Dreessen to play the most snaps among Denver tight ends, with Jacob Tamme seeing some action on passing downs and Virgil Green playing in three-tight end jumbo packages. Thomas practiced twice this week, albeit on a limited basis, so it sounds like he should only miss one game.

So are we confident he plays next week?
This guy is..

The Denver Post's Mike Klis expects Julius Thomas (knee) to return in Week 13 against the Chiefs.
Orange Julius has a "knee sprain" and it's "getting better." As Klis notes, Sunday night's game is "not conducive" to pass catchers like Thomas due to the inclement weather in Foxboro. In addition to Joel Dreessen, Klis anticipates Virgil Green playing "a lot" against the Patriots because he is a strong run blocker. Thomas should return as a top-five fantasy tight end in Week 13.
Barring a setback, I believe so as well.

Rotoworld:

Broncos interim coach Jack Del Rio told reporters Monday he expects Julius Thomas (knee) to return in Week 13 against the Chiefs.

Thomas is second among NFL tight ends in touchdown receptions (10), behind only Jimmy Graham. He'll be worth immediately plugging back into fantasy lineups as an elite TE1. In Thomas' absence Sunday night, Jacob Tamme wound up with the most production among Denver tight ends despite Virgil Green getting the "start." Joel Dreessen functioned mostly as an in-line blocker.

Rotoworld:

Julius Thomas (knee) is practicing Wednesday.

Orange Julius got in two limited sessions to round out last week but was still held out of Sunday's overtime loss to New England. He's fully expected to return to the lineup this week against the Chiefs. Thomas is locked in as a TE1. In Week 11 against Kansas City, he caught three passes for 43 yards and a score.

Rotoworld:

Julius Thomas (knee) remained limited in Thursday's practice.

Thomas got in two limited practices last week before sitting out, so he's still not out of the woods. That being said, most signs point toward him returning against the Chiefs. Thomas will be a must start if he suits up.

Word on the street is that Julius does not play tomorrow. If you are counting on JT, you would be wise to have a back-up plan, considering the late start.

Source or link? All the sources I've been able to find say he looked better in practice today and it looks like there's a good chance he will start. (Roto, ESPN)

I had to go through the entire thread to get the whose jist of it, so to those that want to save time here's the summary. A poster on the Bronco homers board claims to have inside information on the team and therefore injuries, and he predicted Wolfe's recent illness was serious before anyone knew (seizures) and also said not to expect JT to play. Besides the Wolfe prediction, the only other source of credibility is a grainy photo he took of a Bronco player signing a football. He doesn't say it directly, but seems to be suggesting he works for the Bronco organization or very close to it.

He also claims he spoke directly with DRC, and he told him he wasn't playing. Finally, he claims Manning has additional injuries in addition to the ankle, and that they won't be known until after the season, if at all.

Take that for what's it worth. Also, thank you for the link moleculo. Definitely interesting.

that's it in a nutshell. It's unfortunate that some ###### KC fan came in and started #### in the middle of that thread, really makes it tough to read.

bottom line - I have no idea if the guy has any credibility or not. Take it for what it's worth - some guy you have never heard of claims to have inside info and thinks JT won't play.

If you want to be ahead of the curve, sometimes you have to consider "dubious" info - that's all this is.
