Official Laurence Maroney Thread (1 Viewer)

The Herald's John Tomase believes the Patriots will inactivate Laurence Maroney again and go with Sammy Morris.

Glad I unloaded this guy a few weeks ago in my two main money leagues. The reports of his ascension appear to be greatly exaggerated.

:goodposting: I got rid of him this week and it seems like it may have been the right move the make. This could be a slow recovery process especially if the Pats keep winning

For those playing close attention, nobody has been ruled out yet. A reporter has quoted unnamed sources with an opinion that Maroney won't play.

I have the luxury of waiting for clarification since I have both Maroney and Morris on my roster....and we don't have clarification yet.

To Mr. Parcells on the ESPN countdown show:

I'm sure there's a tv somewhere in the locker room in Irving. Please hurry and call Flaurence a "she" so we can motivate him a bit.

Mods really should amend thread subtitle to add a question mark after OUT. While he likely won't play it isn't definite yet.

Per TSN:

Oct. 13, 2007 - 8:03 a.m.

Coach Bill Belichick told the Boston Globe that Maroney (groin) is making progress, but remains a game-time decision for Sunday.

Fantasy Source spin: It's still a toss-up, so Maroney owners and Sammy Morris owners will have to wait until Sunday for the final word. At this point, Morris would be a nice flex option even if Maroney plays, as Morries could steal goal-line carries.

My question is have "unnamed sources" leaked the possibility of Maroney being inactive the last two weeks prior to official word from the Pats. I live here, but have been out ot town the last couple of weekends, so I really don't know myself.

Is David Yudkin in the house?

Paging David....

The way Clayton sounded this morning Maroney is out. But he's pretty ambigous when he talks so take it for what it is worth.

On Sirius NFL Radio Steve Cohen says Maroney will work out before the game. He has not yet been ruled out, despite some reports

This morning CBS said Belichick's decision to play Maroney would be based on pre-game warmups. He's not a scratch......yet.

As I just posted in the regular weekly Maroney thread, he has not officially been ruled out but is expected to be on the incactive list released at around 3:00 Eastern time. I've now got three people that think Maroney will not play (my guy, the Hearald, and Clayton).I suppose there is a chance that he could still suit up and play, but even if he did I doubt he would see enough action to be worthy of a fantasy start.

We can all know for sure by checking in HERE at around 3:00 as this is where the inactive list will be posted as soon as it is available.

(Sorry, I won't be able to post the update as I won't be around.)

I am actively looking to acquire Maroney in every league now. He's got a very good chance to be a big time player down the stretch.

That is a total role reversal of Morris & Maroney now. :lmao:
True, but that's why Maroney is available so cheap right now. If Maroney comes back and gets 2/3 of the carries in the second half of the season the way he was in the first half, he'll be extremely valuable. There aren't too many players out there who have a chance to be that stud guy at the end of the season, and not only is Morris one of them, he's also available very cheaply in most leagues.
