The other one is BS, so I thought I would start a new one. Please only post LJ injury related info, thanks. I'm not saying just recent news info, but please don't tell us about your team, or who else is hurt from your team, and surely not anything unrelated to LJ.

At what point to the Chiefs come out and say anything beyond he won't play this week? Shouldn't they have the results by now? I am holding onto him until the Chiefs say he's def. gone for the year, but it's just weird they won't be any more definitive or even give a framework of 2-to-4 weeks or anything.

Larry Johnson (foot) did not practice Wednesday, as expected.

The Chiefs surprisingly haven't ruled him out for Week 10, even though coach Herm Edwards said Wednesday that Johnson won't face Denver. Either way, L.J. is out indefinitely. We'll hear more about his situation late in the week.

Priest Holmes will start in his place, and rookie Kolby Smith will also see some of the action.

Some speculate in KC that part of the reason for not verifying the injury is that Carl Peterson is pissed at the reporter in Denver and wants to deny her credit for breaking the story for as long as possible. It's just the kind of petty, vindictive behavior King Carl is known for.

a foot that is still swollen after 4 days is bad news. regardless what the nature of the injury turns out to be, I would bet that it is at minimum a 4-6 week injury.

I wonder if they've considered bringing back Derrick Ross. the guy runs hard and I thought he played pretty well in camp, he just had some fumble-itis.

btw, Pasquerelli mentioned the possibility of a Lis Franc injury himself on his ESPN update yesterday. I have no problem with folks speculating as to potential injuries on this message board. I put stock in such speculation only when the poster supports such possibility with intelligent rationale. That's the whole purpose of having a message board like this is to "project" outcomes, including injuries, suspensions, B urine sample results and why the Pats will cut Randy Moss before week 1 because he's "milked" a hammy injury and avoided pre-season practice.Once things become "official" everyone who plays FF knows about within about ~ 15 minutes and the information is fully digested and there is no advantage to wasting time on a message board like this.

It boggles the mind why there is another LJ thread.

When there is no infomation out there, threads fill up with speculation and posters fighting over dumb things.

It is only a matter of time before this thread becomes the same thing.

Obviously the Chiefs dont want to talk about it. When they do, it will be front page news.

People are interested in this Injury because it has a MAJOR fantasy impact on the season. Some posters come to the thread just to see what other board members think. Sometimes hearing someone else say "I dont think it was that bad" just makes you feel slightly better about the situation. Although in reality, it means nothing.

I can understand starting a new thread when some real info comes out, but this will just be the same as the old ones.

Here's a better idea: Wait until the Chiefs "officially" acknowledge that Larry is done for the year, and THEN start a thread to go along with the 35 others that will suddenly appear to clue in those who remain in denial . . .

"His status will be re-evaluated again early next week with further exams and tests. His status for this week is doubtful to out." Doctors may not know the exact extent of L.J.'s injury until the swelling subsides completely."

There is less swelling and they are waiting for it to go down more and perform further exams. I am hopeful that he will return. But I didn't realize that he still had swelling on it today which is not good.

You can jack up your foot and have swelling for a couple of weeks without it being a career threatening injury. I am really not suprised he still has swelling no matter what the injury.

It may take swelling to subside to diagnose ligament/tendon damage w/ an MRI, but an x-ray will tell if a bone was broken regardless of swelling. I think we can rule out broken bone, unless the Chiefs are just plain withholding information.

Actually sometimes you can not see breaks on plain films but he had an MRI as well so my guess is (unless the Chiefs are withholding) Larry probably does not have a break. If there is a foot and ankle specialist out there maybe they can chime in with how difficult it is to diagnose a Liz Franc these days...(unless someone already has in these multiple threads.

In answering a question posed by Rich Eisen about the state of the KC Chiefs offense, Schefter said, " Well, it means they're hoping to get Larry Johnson back sooner rather than later. I had a couple of people tell me that Larry Johnson right now is day to day. So even though he's probably not going to play this week against the Broncos, its very possible he'll be out there the following week."
