OK, I admit it. I officially sucked into this thing. I am almost level 15 and farming outside the Forsaken Inn for Ash and medium hides.

Forsaken is a cool place.. I love wandering around and out of no where you see a message about stealth and next thing you know a Wolf is on your Butt.

Just try and run up Weather Hill alone. At one point I had 6 or 7 Talons chasing me while a Goblin Spear thrower was tossing spears at me. Everything up there is Argo.. Luckily my Drunken Dwarf found a way to Run away and live to tell about it.

there is a AH there and a few other towns.. I haven't used the AH yet. Anything that I haven't sold to vendors for I've been giving to members of my Kinship so they will pay me back in kind with harvested food items I can use to cook up more food.

I am not sure. LOTRO looks a lot more like GW, but plays a lot like WoW in some ways. It is less cartoony, for certain. I think my love of Tolkein also contributes to some degree. I imagine if I had gotten in on the bottom floor with WoW, it would be different, but for my money, I prefer LOTRO.

Then I had to buy all of the current skills.

Now I have 7 silver. And have to travel back to Adso's Camp near Bree since I cannot receive higher training until I talk to a hunter in that camp.

I have solo'd almost everything. I have grouped with at most 1 other person to do 3 quests - kill the Goblin chieftain near Thorin's Gate, kill an elite spider and kill the wight master. I have done a lot of "farming" of ash, rowan and high level bears/goblins/wolves today to get to 15 and get a ton of crafting stuff. I have about 5 high level quests to turn in, too. I still want to advance this character, though. That is the problem. At best, I will get 1 more guy to 15 by the 24th I figure - probably my human champion.

Had over 150 silver.. Barely got my farmer skills to Journeyman before I was down to 10 Silver.. Back out hunting easy green bears/wolfs and goblins for more money to put into the sink.

You have to spend a lot of money on wax (48 bronze a pop) to make treated wood, as well.

Yep - they opened up 4 new servers for the open beta, too.Gears of War is a tough one to break away from, though.

If there are any hunters out there, one of the best bows in the open beta is a bow called Thomley's Bow, which can be had by getting the quest from Rose Thomley a bit to the north of Bree along the road on the left side. You just have to go a little south and kill 8 lvl 9/10 brigands. Easy.

I would have waited to turn that one in for the XP, but i just wanted the freaking bow.

Supposedly, there is another purple bow, of the Eagle, or some such, that drops a little further north but it is pretty random.

I just hit 15 with Al the Guardian.

I made Bronze armor that's better than anything I can buy. I'm guessing that advantage wears off in the later elvels, but for now, I just doubled my total armor.

I'll get Joakim to 15 and one more character to 15, then I'll work on masteries.

Hamwise is a level 11 Burglar but I'm not down with that. We need minstrels.

Gonna be spotty the next few days though cause I got some stuff due at school and some other stuff to finish up. Darn life getting in the way of the gaming.
