My fellow Penguins should just go ahead and assume the role of the vicious heel in the WWE-esque realm on NHL fandom.

Pens were definitely the better team in games 5 and 6 with the Cup on the line. Agree that they stole the first two games, but they pretty clearly found another gear as the series went on that Nashville couldn't match.
Not sure how anyone watched last night thinking one team was just flat out that much better than the other.

Looked like a pretty well even matchup with both goalies playing lights out.

Was talking more re: games 4-6 as a whole -- agree that last night was razor thin.

Exactly. No way of knowing how that game plays out if the Preds go up 1-0. Same for the Subak goal overturned in Game 1.

Still, the Pens were the better team the last two games. I'm not sure if the Preds hit the wall or where the version that dominated Games 3-4 went.
Who is Subak?

Well... That sucked.

Losing Johansen really hurt.

Tough to not feel bitter about the refs, but the Preds definitely had a ton of scoring chances.  And it seemed like I kept screaming "how the fck did Murray get a piece of that" as he seemed to get JUST enough of the puck to make the save on a ton of chances.

Hate to lose at all, but sucks even more on such a weird fluky play for them to score.

Still sucks.

2018 Stanley Cup odds are out:

Penguins are early favorites at 8-1. Looking at a 3peat?

Oilers at 10-1!
Really hope that they can keep Bonino and convince Cullen to come back one more time. Be much rougher sailing next year if those two or both gone. I'll live with losing Daley and / or Kunitz, and obviously we'll be fine at goaltender without MAF, but the center depth is necessary, and those two guys are huge in our end and on draws.

I could play '70s Kickers Name Game for hours (Steve and Nick Mike-Mayer, anyone?).

But the fact that Rolf Benirschke actually was (briefly) the host of Wheel of Fortune is one of my favorite random facts in the history of ever.

Here's Rolf!

Bonino played with a broken leg last two periods of Game 2.

Hornqvist played yesterday with a broken finger.
They're all tough bastages.

Also looks like MAF waived his no movement clause. Guy has been just pure class through the last two playoffs with Murray. Sad that he has to go. Hope that Vegas takes him and moves him to somewhere where he has a chance to win (not ####ing Philly though LOL).

As great as Malkin is, he's not close to Sid, really. Playing with Sid gives him so much more room to operate d/t not facing top lines and defensive pairings. He's also not the 200 foot player that Crosby is. They're both spectacular, obviously, but Crosby is several rungs higher IMO. Crosby is as good as anyone in NHL history outside of Gretzky, Howe, Orr, and Lemieux IMO.
Who do you guys rank higher as a better player ( overall career ) Crosby or Jagr?

Crosby and it's not close. Jagr is / was a phenomenal offensive talent. Crosby is the best 2 way player of his generation and an elite captain and leader.

I worded the question very poorly. What I really meant to ask is if you could have either in their prime who would you choose?
Crosby.  Probably only a dozen better players in their prime.

Without the specificity you added, I'm merely going to the level of awe that Jagr played at the level he played for this long.

Yeah, his longevity is truly outrageous, particularly for a guy whose game is based around his physical prowess more than anything else.

Wonder how much farther he goes. I'm betting he wants try to play until 50 if he can and there is no reason to think he couldn't always start somewhere for the next 4-5 seasons

Of course, they could just keep him.  Somebody's got to backstop what could be an erratic defense.

Not that it was really in doubt, but the NBA Finals thread appears to be spectacularly all-around awful compared with this one. Again.

Yeah, for all of the crap that Bettman takes, the salary cap / parity in the NHL has been a huge success. The NBA might as well just skip straight to a Warriors-Cavs finals every year.

And Doug Harvey.  Poor guy doesn't get the respect he deserves.

IIRC the only time the Cup won on visiting ice was dicey with the crowd was in Vancouver.  I was in Detroit in 2009, those who stayed to watch the Pens skate around golf clapped when they were handed the cup.  To me you have to stay and see that, even if your team loses.
2010 in Philly.  Some woman assaulted a 10-yo girl and then the crowd beat the #### out of the family when the dad stood up for his daughter.  Animals.

I meant Vegas could keep him.
Pittsburgh radio is saying Vegas would have to keep him. Apparently Fleury waived his NMC to only go to Vegas (via trade or expansion draft). The NMC would still be in place after he moved there, so he would have to waive it again in order to be moved elsewhere. Take it with a grain of salt, though.

He was very good weeks ago...but he was very bad in 3 games in the finals.  So, not that surprising at all.
he finished with a .93 sv%.  all anyone pointed to was his sv% so if that is why he was soooo good and that he was the reason they got to the cup as an 8 seed then yes, you all showering him with praise should be very surprised.

All the talk was...if he continued playing the way he was...he would be a likely winner if Nashville won the cup.  I don't think its anything outrageous to say that.
