Yeah I forgot the top 4 seeds all got upset in the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.Ducks and sharks were 5th and 7th seeds
Good luck. I'll be doing this some day when my kids are a little older.I said "kind of".
Seriously, I've trained hard for the upcoming WSOP events and am more focused than ever. The biggest hole in my game is letting myself get distracted with the phone and TV, when I'm not in a hand. This is my Stanley Cup. I'm ready to win an event.
:golfclap: Well done pulling that one out from the back of the rack.I just changed into my lucky shirt which means that LaFontaine is going to score in the fourth overtime after Emrick ties a tie around his head and does his best Bill Clement impression while PK Subak looks on in bewilderment.
One of the Senators said they were trying to bore the Pens to death.Sens played terrible in OT, they deserved to lose. Felt like they changed shifts every 12 seconds.
Defend, get it out, dump it in, change shifts, rinse & repeat.
Leave the smart phone at home.I said "kind of".

if I need to make or receive a call, they bring a rotary phone on a silver salver with a mile long extension cord to me at the table Let's the other players know who rates.
jealous, eh?You guys in here are better than the Canada talk. No one gives a #### about the Sens. Cheering for a team because they're in your country is ####### stupid. Are you the same people yelling U-S-A when the Blue Jays play in Baltimore or some stupid ####. Come on now.
I think I saw a tweet saying Subban has 3X the amount of ice time vs. the opponents top line. Not sure you can take Subban when Josi has been almost as important.
Considering how deep down the bench they've had to go for long stretches in this year's playoffs, I'd say that their D has been very solid, personally. They definitely haven't been a major weakness for the most part (Maata's turnover machine routine at times being the exception). The Canes D in 2006, wasn't as bad as the current Pens. Hedican, Ward, Hill, Commy, F. Kab, and Wesley.
No studs there.
not at all IMO. in fact, I'd say he has less to do with their defensive performance than the guys around him. he's facing less quality shots than anyone else in these playoffs and hasn't really had to do much. numbers are great and he has played well, but he's getting way too much credit. and they're 12-4 in the playoffs. it's not like if he had more normal numbers they couldn't be still winning these series'. he doesn't need to be good, plenty of margin for error because they are playing so well in front of him. best defensive group by a long shot. I thought several goalies were better in this postseason.IMO the Conn Smythe should go to Rinne, win or lose, assuming he continues to play the same way he has thus far. Malkin and Crosby have been very good; Rinne has been ridiculous and the primary reason that the Preds are in the finals. He's stolen multiple games for them every series thus far.
I haven't watched every Preds playoff game this year -- but when I have (prolly about half of them), he's stood out. Yes, they play great defense in front of him, but IMO he's been outstanding also. For curiousity's sake, who would you say has been better? Hank? Fleury? Anderson? Not IMO. All have been brilliant at times, but none has been close to as consistent as has been Rinne.not at all IMO. in fact, I'd say he has less to do with their defensive performance than the guys around him. he's facing less quality shots than anyone else in these playoffs and hasn't really had to do much. numbers are great and he has played well, but he's getting way too much credit. and they're 12-4 in the playoffs. it's not like if he had more normal numbers they couldn't be still winning these series'. he doesn't need to be good, plenty of margin for error because they are playing so well in front of him. best defensive group by a long shot. of course they will give it to him anyway inf they win since they are more of a team effort and his numbers stand out.
Can't take any of the Preds D as the top 4 have all been as important as the other depending on the night. Ellis and Ekholm have come up very big as well.So who is Conn Smythe?
Malkin (most playoff points - 24)
Crosby
Forsberg (Leads Preds with 15 points. Johansen is second with13)
Rinne
Not sure you can take Subban when Josi has been almost as important.
Lambert was trolling the Sens on twitter last night:
https://twitter.com/twolinepass
hmm people seem to think i was kidding or trolling when i said ottawa won't be a playoff team next season. i was not.
btw ottawa misses the playoffs by 10+ points next year. good night.
why watch overtime of an ottawa senators playoff game when you can simply eat a whole turkey and mix ambien with sleepy time tea
these are the worst senators since ted cruz and mitch mcconnell
only thing i root for in hockey is to be proven right, but man do i hope the pens win so i don't have to watch six more games of this ####
in this postseason, with karlsson on the ice, ottawa outscores opponents 30-15. with him off the ice, ottawa gets outscored 15-32.
senators fans today are just as bad as canucks fans ever were circa 2010-12, but at least those canucks teams were good
if nothing else these playoffs showed fans of any canadian franchise become totally insufferable if their team advances past the 1st round
unrelated:
fun stat: nashville has allowed only eight more goals in three rounds than columbus did in five games.
In their defense, Columbus did have to face the Penguins. Who did Smashville have to play?unrelated:

people who vote on the award would almost certainly give it to Rinne (for the Preds) if they were voting now. I think Forsberg has a chance to pass him given the Johansen injury. I do think Subban's contributions will get lost a bit in that great top-4 similar to Crosby and Malkin splitting votes on the other side.I get giving Rinne the award as a representative of their D performance as a whole. but it's still dumb. they've been the better team in every series and hasn't had to really do much of anything. it's basically giving him the award and saying "way not to #### it up". now maybe he needs to be that guy against the Pens, it's the best team they've faced in the postseason IMO, and he is the reason they win. but to this point I'd rather see it go to Forsberg or Subak, they've been way more important to their success.
I can definitely see your point -- but I do think that you are still downplaying his contributions. The guy is leading all playoff goaltenders in virtually every major category, and he's been a major plus to his defense with the way he handles the puck. His start to the Chicago series set the tone for the entire playoffs for the Preds when no one was giving them a chance. I'd also argue that IMO the Preds weren't a clearly better team than the Ducks overall -- that series looked pretty even to me and goaltending was the biggest difference between the two teams. Game 6 certainly, and without that performance to close it out on home ice who knows what happens in game 7.I get giving Rinne the award as a representative of their D performance as a whole. but it's still dumb. they've been the better team in every series and hasn't had to really do much of anything. it's basically giving him the award and saying "way not to #### it up". now maybe he needs to be that guy against the Pens, it's the best team they've faced in the postseason IMO, and he is the reason they win. but to this point I'd rather see it go to Forsberg or Subak, they've been way more important to their success.
Sorry, you need to watch the games again. Rinne stoned point blank chances against the Ducks 3-5 times in many games. Yes, their top 4 have contributed to his success, but he's stopped a lot of quality chances also. Forsberg and Subak are not even close to him for consideration.I get giving Rinne the award as a representative of their D performance as a whole. but it's still dumb. they've been the better team in every series and hasn't had to really do much of anything. it's basically giving him the award and saying "way not to #### it up". now maybe he needs to be that guy against the Pens, it's the best team they've faced in the postseason IMO, and he is the reason they win. but to this point I'd rather see it go to Forsberg or Subak, they've been way more important to their success.
yeah, as has pretty much any goalie in these playoffs other than Elliott. he's had an easy road and has done his job. he's not the reason they're in the cup. with a .91 sv% they'd probably be there too, and that would be below average since he's facing less quality chances than everyone elseSorry, you need to watch the games again. He's faced 474 shots with a .941. .910 is 14 more goals allowed. I'd be very happy to give the Ducks four of those goals. Two each in Games 1 and 3. Or 5 or 6 for that matter.Huh. I have a lot to say about that, but I'll put it in my back pocket.
Don Cherry has always been a ####ing idiot.
Too bad Ottawa didn't win. You could road trip there and easily get some tickets.Interesting Nashville/Pitt storyline going back to when both were struggling and Balsille tried to buy them at times with the intent to move them to Canada.
At least from this city...very cool looking back...remembering being at the rally where Bredesen held up the "Get your damn hands off my team" sign. And from there the changeover to the local ownership group and how they went ahead with this team from that point.
Obviously Pitt has had a ton of success since he tried to buy them as well. Just an interesting side story to this Finals matchup.
And holy crap it was cool seeing the fresh paint on the Ice at Bridgestone saying Stanley Cup FINALS.
(tried this morning to get tickets...said they had about 200 or so for each of the 3 games that were not bought by season ticket holders. Could not get any (lowest ticket price was $657 for what was supposedly even availalbe). Refreshed trying to get 1 or 2 tickets and never got in. Hoping my friend that has ticket packages for the year who I went to game 4 of the St. Louis series got tickets and has one for me for one of these games). Either that or I will be taking in the game in a downtown bar, on the plaza, or in the park behind the Hilton (may even make it a night with the wife at the Hilton or Omni and just enjoy it all).
This wasn't the trade to bash. The Bruins got the picks that turned into Seguin and Hamilton. (I'll stop there.)Huh. I have a lot to say about that, but I'll put it in my back pocket.
Just one: Boston trading a top-flight national player to another team for tinder sticks is hardly a knock on the player.
I had not seen Karlsson play much until this year's playoffs and all I can say is the guy is impressive. Seems to do everything right and is always in the right place at the right time. Amazing player.IMO the Conn Smythe should go to Rinne, win or lose, assuming he continues to play the same way he has thus far. Malkin and Crosby have been very good; Rinne has been ridiculous and the primary reason that the Preds are in the finals. He's stolen multiple games for them every series thus far.
I'd also say that Karlsson has been right there as the best player overall in these playoffs, particularly considering that the dude was playing on a freaking broken foot. He has no chance of actually winning it with the Sens not making the finals, but he and Rinne stand alone at the top as far as guys who have played the biggest role in their teams' success this year.
Exactly. I don't follow it like you, but I do know that.Dickie Dunn said:This wasn't the trade to bash. The Bruins got the picks that turned into Seguin and Hamilton. (I'll stop there.)
Preds fans are hard corePriced tickets on StubHub. These numbers are the starting point on tickets.
Game 1 in Pitt: $271
Game 2 in Pitt: $242
Game 3 in Nashville: $1100
