Because the play would have been blown dead the second he played the puck in the zone, before the change of possession.

Technically yes, but he played the puck into the zone, so the whistle should have blown that play dead right then. Is there a rule that says something to that effect? Like if we miss an offside call it is nullified once it leaves the zone?

@DarrenDreger: 3 goals on 7 shots. A 5 on 3 goal. A deflection off Ekholm and a Preds goal overturned by offside review. Quite a period to open the series.

Exactly. People who try to claim that calls "even out" over the course of a game or series don't understand this concept.

Both calls leading to the 5 on 3 were legit. That said, I'd personally prefer it to have to be much more egregious for a 2 man advantage.

Also...Neal was stupid whether the guy embellished or not.

but...did the Ekholm penalty come before what they have showed?  Because the Pems player (Hornqvist i think) is going down in front of the goal in his own.  There is barely even any contact there.
