good stuff -- bids too high though
I can't believe people bid on this stuff. George Hull was right.
Even if I was deaf, I would have gotten the jist of it. He dropped a rope into the hole and said something...Anyone think it was strange that Jin actually understood the english when the big black dude told him to grab the rope?
....Am I the only one that found this strange?
Also, who is the focus on next episode?
Cygnus is latin for swan. One of the genera for swans is Cygnus. A baby swan is called a cygnet.I doubt there is anything special we should be reading into a constellation called, essentially, Swan the Swan.I was reading another board and came across something I found interesting.
The Cygnus Constellation is also called the Cygnus the Swan.
From Rush's song Cygnus X-1
"In the constellation of Cygnus
There lurks a mysterious, invisible force
The black hole of Cygnus X-1
Six stars of the Northern Cross
In mourning for their sister's loss
In a final flash of glory
Nevermore to grace the night"
Not sure if there is any astral connection to the other Dharma branches but I thought this was interesting.
I would be surprised if he doesn't know English....Even if I was deaf, I would have gotten the jist of it. He dropped a rope into the hole and said something...Anyone think it was strange that Jin actually understood the english when the big black dude told him to grab the rope?

Then he morphed into a bear and left. Suddenly the whole scene outside bursts into flames and I break the compass into two and start digging with it somehow. Then a bunch of nazi pirates overtook me

The sellers name : necesito_dinero I'll say you do.I can't believe people bid on this stuff. George Hull was right.

That looks good to me and makes sense. Early in Season 1, we never would have recognized a Dharma symbol. Planes have all kinds of markings on them and I can't see why the producers would hide the symbol so much since we would not not what the heck it was at that point.Possible solution to the 'Dharma' logo on the plane....Common plane door markings:

I don't know if this was meant as tongue in cheek, but Walt's mom took him to Europe much longer than 3-4 years ago. In the Michael flashback episode, Walt looks to be at most 3 years old. From Europe they then moved to Australia where Walt's mom got sick and died. Walt is now 10 or 11 years old, making his mom take him away from Michael/USA a minimum of 6 years ago.Walt's stepdad turned him over to Michael because he never really wanted him in the first place and Walt creeped him out.Just a thought.....
Seeing that that was Dharma issued Milk. Walt has been "missing" from Dharma....perhaps since Walt's mother "took" him to Europe. Walt's mom took him 3-4 years ago, we know that perhaps Desmond has been there for 3 years, no telling how long ago that Milk was stocked......but probably recently....milk doesn't last too long. "The Others" are the Degroots, and that is why they came out and grabbed Walt at sea....they've been chasing him for years. Walt's Stepfather knew too much of this story and probably turned Walt over to Michael because he knows Dharma killed his wife, and was coming after him next. Don't know how it'll come full circle.

It would have been far less dramatic if he didn't recognize hurley...I thought it was strange the guy at the mini mart recognized Hurley as the guy who bought the winning lottery ticket. They must sell a thousand a day.Do they even look at the numbers as they are sold?
Yet this guy recognizes Hurley as he is sitting in a van as the guy that bought the winning ticket. What was up with that?

I thought this scene was horribly written. In fact, I thought this whole episode was bad. I hope I'm wrong, but I have a feeling that we may look back to this episode as when this show jumped the shark.I thought it was strange the guy at the mini mart recognized Hurley as the guy who bought the winning lottery ticket. I agree the scene was poorly written. I would have preferred he just drove away. We all know he won and what happened. I did like how he seemed to have some misgiving on taking his winnings. Yea, but they had to show how his friend got hurt by the whole thing. He quit his job because Hurley did, thinking they would go somewhere else and get jobs tomorrow. Hurley quit cuz he was rich and the other guy followed suit not knowing there was no downside to Hurley quitting. And plus, his buddy had sex...with a girl!I agree the scene was poorly written. This would just be for us, as Hurley's subconcious would also not know that Jin was all beat up from his encounter with the other survivors. So, um, did you guys who didn't watch the spoilers catch that Walt was the missing child on Hurley's milk carton in his dream?
This is disturbing me, cause how would Hurley's subconcious know that Walt was taken?
Actually it was my thought that this was more to do with the various visions we have been witness to. If one person can see him Walt older and wet why coudln't another person know subconciously he was missing and that Jin was beat up?This would just be for us, as Hurley's subconcious would also not know that Jin was all beat up from his encounter with the other survivors. So, um, did you guys who didn't watch the spoilers catch that Walt was the missing child on Hurley's milk carton in his dream?

"Lost" actor, wife robbed at gunpoint in home A cast member of the Emmy-winning TV series "Lost" and his wife were robbed at gunpoint in their Honolulu home, police and a spokeswoman for the actor said on Thursday. A spokeswoman for actor Josh Holloway confirmed that he and his wife had been robbed.Honolulu police declined to identify Holloway but said a couple living at his property was awakened at 4:10 a.m. local time on Wednesday by a man wearing gray-and-black shirt and baseball cap holding a handgun.Local KHON-TV reported that the robber took cash and the keys to a Mercedes-Benz car later found in the area.Holloway, 36, plays Sawyer on ABCs top-rated show "Lost" about survivors of a plane crash trying to survive on a mysterious, uncharted Pacific Island."My family and I are fine and appreciate everyone's concerns and good thoughts," the actor said in a statement. "We are very grateful for the help of the Honolulu police department and the support of the local community."The show is shooting its second season on Hawaii's Oahu.
I know it's in poor taste (pun possibly intended) I get a chuckle outta guy from the other team, with the name **** Hatch....I think Richard Hatch from the first Survivor is behind all this queer island business.

Isn't it possible too that Hurley was maybe saying the numbers over and over and over again so the clerk remembered them as well. I am not sure if you are being sarchastic or not so I will try to explain.Incogneto is showing a picture of a normal plane, not a screen capture from the show, and it has a similar marking. Since this is just a marking on a normal plane, he is inferring that the marking we have all been discussing as a possible Dharma symbol could just be a marking that is on normal planes. It is just our imagination trying to take markings that show up on commercial airliners normally and morph it into a Dharma symbol.I don't see a cross or a swan there... Can we make out the logo on that plane? Maybe we can make some guesses about another group on the island... Maybe they crashed near another hatch.Possible solution to the 'Dharma' logo on the plane....Common plane door markings:

Yeah, it was a bit slower than normal, but I think we need to stop expecting a big answer/twist every show. It took us 20+ season 1 episodes to get to Walt's kidnapping and finally opening the hatch. We just had a couple big episodes to open season 2, but I think it will progress at normal speed again.I also did like this show, I think the whole Minimart scene was like Locke's episode last week where we finally know why Locke has been so into finding faith and finally asking for help. This episode had a similar closure for Hurley after he gave all of the food out because he didn't want to be the guy in control that everyone hated, like he was when he had all the money and like he had when he was put in charge of the food. Both Locke and Hurley got a little closure in the last two episodes on things that had been bothering them for a while.I thought Hurley's show was one of the better ones. Explained a lot that had only been assumed about.
I agree here. This past episode I would label as both a transition episode (they forshadow a more intense show next week) and one of the more important character development episodes. We know alot about Hurley, but he still is very odd at times and has alot of personal issues he is dealing with. It was nice to see him as the "hero" for a few minutes.Yeah, it was a bit slower than normal, but I think we need to stop expecting a big answer/twist every show.
