Are you still trying to figure out what year it is?Quick question. Anyone remember anything that indicates how long Kate has been running from the law for?
Thanks.

Guarantee you that Mr Ecko has some skeletons in the closet, just like everyone else on the island.I now have a new favorite character in Mr Echo. I mean the guy is pretty mysterious and is basically the tail-section's version of Locke. There is way more to that guy than we know as of now and I can't wait to learn more about him. He is obviously terrified of The Others despite the fact that he killed two of them with a rock. There must be more to learn about that situation.I am a big fan of Mr. Echo now. Something tells me that he is going to end up saving the kids or give up his life to save them.
Just from his actions so far, going with Jin to protect him while finding Michael and not leaving Sawyer behind, he is on Jack's level (giving blood to Boone) of selfless.
Yes. Without revealing anything, I saw something in an upcoming episode that dates he being on the lam. I want to compare. Anyone remember anything where she said she was on the run for X years, or the marshall said I've been tracking you for X years or anything like that? Are you still trying to figure out what year it is?Quick question. The shadowy figures was a wide shot of Said clutching Shannon. It was Ana Lucia holding a gun in the wrong hand. I'm just chalking it up to poor editing.http://www.lost-media.com/modules.php?name...bum=775&pos=830Did anyone ever go back and see if they could spot the "Shadowy Figures" a couple episodes ago?
That's creepy.....
Well, looks like we can quit speculating on whether it was a gun wound or stabbing.....and that Ana didn't do it.Interesting interview with minor spoilers:

Extended interview
It's interesting that they use the words "tribes" and "merge" in that interview. I tend to tie those words to Survivor.
In the case of Godwin, you are assuming that the Others knew that the plane was goingto crash. From what I got from the conversation between Anna and Godwin right before she killed him was that he happened to be in the area, was seen by Bernard and had to take on the role of being a survivor. They took Charlie, because he was with claire. Not for charlie. They took Charlie previously. I'm not sure he qualifies for the good person criteria. Also, they tried to take Eko because he is a big dude. Goodwin admitted that the initial strike's intent was to eliminate threats.I disagree. Look at who was taken. Eko (hypothesized to be a priest, regardless has a good nature about him), 2 other tallies (nothing known about them), taillie children, Claire & Walt. I think they are taking "pure" people without sin. Now how Rose, Bernard, Libby, etc sinned, I don't know, but I'm sticking with this theory for now.About the "good people" the others took.
I don't necessarily think it was meant in reference to the person's nature. It makes more sense to me that those people were "good canidates" for whatever experiments and what not is going on over at Other's central.
Then again, Goodwin clearly isn't mentally sound if he is one of the others anyway. I question the judgement of people who snatch people in the middle of the night. They took Claire to get the baby. Not for Claire herself. So my question, how did Goodwin get his clothes and shoes? If Ann lucia was right, did Bernard just happen to see him, is that why he came out so fast? Why does he have shoes?Claire had a child out of wedlock. That's not "pure" from a religious sense.I disagree.

Was the count right on how many survivors there were? I feel like it's off. Someone help me.
I think they infultrated the tallies before the rest of the survivors was because they had a smaller group. That made Goodwins job of analyzing them easier.
Ethan had a much larger group to work with, and was probably merged with them later.
That is what I percieved too. My question is, if he happened to be in the area, why did he have normal clothes and shoes on? The rest of the others seem to be barely clothed. Also, has anyone done a number count on the others camp?In the case of Godwin, you are assuming that the Others knew that the plane was goingto crash. Hey Hulk, not to rain on your parade, but on the baggage claim it had "09SEP21". While it seems like it could be September 21st, 2009, I actually think it is probably just September 21st. Remember that September is month 9, and I could easily see more relevance to print both 0921 and SEP21 for the date. I just don't see how the year on a baggage claim would have any relevance, whereas for overseas travellers and baggage handlers it might be worthwhile to have both the number representation of the Day and Month and the abbreviated representation of it, especially if the baggage handlers don't speak English. There are a good deal of Asian travellers to Australia and "SEP" probably doesn't mean much to them or baggage handlers in say Korea if they don't speak English. Also, Italian and Portuguese translations do not have a "P" in their versions of September. If the poster is all you have besides the ticket, then it might be tough to determine a date since that could easily be a mistaken prop, a past event, or an event coming later that year. Maybe the Kate centric episode will give you another good clue.Yes. Without revealing anything, I saw something in an upcoming episode that dates he being on the lam. I want to compare. Goodwin may have been a bit more important than we think. Ethan had pretty normal clothes, so they might have access to stuff, but maybe the underlings have to wear the junk. If the Others did know about the plane crash ahead of time, then he may have been ready, but just happened to be closer to the tailies.Another explanation, which may be the simplest is that he did have some time, not a lot, but some and if Bernard's seat went that far, he could have easily been near where some luggage or dead people went. While he had clothes on, I don't remember them looking like they were just dry cleaned. That is what I percieved too. I think there has to be at least 9 adults alive (they took 9 from the beach)
3 kids (walt and 2 from the talies)
4 dead (Ethan, Goodwin, 2 from Ekco, 1 from Ana Lucia
So they have to have a camp big enough to hold at least 16 people. Do you think they are hiding at another Dharma site?
Well I thought Ethan had time to get the clothes from the random luggage while they were asleep. We really didn't see him until later on and with a group that large, he could have easily slipped in later.Goodwin may have been a bit more important than we think. I do think you are right about the Dharma site. I think the people that started the Others clan were definitely from a Dharma site and are probably living there. It is probably the central site, if there is one. The hatch was found by dumb luck when Boone/Locke dropped something metal on it and so was the tailies bunker. Unless the Others scoured the island, it is likely that they would never have found them.

We didn't even know about Ethan till well after day one and since there were no attacks until Claire's, which was after Jack found the cave with water, there was no reason to be suspicious. Heck Ethan could have even gotten the clothes from one of the tailies that they grabbed the first couple days.Well I thought Ethan had time to get the clothes from the random luggage while they were asleep. True. Ok well I did see like half of this one. Walked in about 5 minutes before the idiot who helped the guy out of the pit got his neck broke.
This feels like a werewolf game (I'm sure someone will quote that last sentence and add a derisive comment of their choice).
The others are the "wolves". Outnumbered. Trying to blend in with the sheep villagers. The top priority of the wolves is to eliminate the "good ones" i.e. the smart people who are known to figure things out or those who show good instincts. The people you want alive at the end are those who don't pay attention, screw around, take nothing seriously, and as a result make all the wrong moves. You know, people like Capella and Pickles. If I'm a bad guy, they live til the end because they'll tear the community apart every time. People who actually take analysis seriously, who actually listen to everyone and pay attention, they DIE.

Only the guy that had his neck snapped was the guy in the pit and your analysis is based on half an episode of a show that's been running for over a year now.Ok well I did see like half of this one. Walked in about 5 minutes before the idiot who helped the guy out of the pit got his neck broke.

I admitted as much in my very first sentence. I said based on my extremely limited experience with this show, that was my impression. That detail doesn't change the point. Dood, Jin will win at that. Hurley's a big guy but he puked at Sea urchin. Jin has the Asian stomach. If its an eating polar bear balls or wild pig tails you know Hurley is going to walk away with it.Now that the tribes have merged, what do you think the first individual immunity challenge will be?
I think he said "by an other".Ironically if that's what he was afraid of, he may have doomed the kid to exactly that fate by putting Claire on the bogus trip to LA.so, going way back to claire's flashbacks. i remember there was some revelation that the psychic sent her on that plane with no one waiting on the other end to adopt her baby. it was believed at that time that the psychic sent her on that plane knowing it would crash and she would be forced to raise the child herself, thereby eliminating the chance of her putting the child up for adoption.
i think what the psychic told us was more or less what happens to the kids that end up with the others. he saw how evil claire's baby would be if raised by anyone other than claire. it was almost a warning to keep that baby away from the OTHERS. i wonder if his verbage was ever versed like "this child must never be raised by 'others'".
They've got a decent arsenal of weapons in the hatch. I'm sure Mike will be pushing for an assualt on their camp. That would be an awesome episode.Does anyone think that with increased numbers, information and supplies the survivors will make an organized attempt to find the others & the kids?
The tailies didn't have the manpower or weapons to take on the others. Plus they had a pretty bad experience early on.
The main group just didn't know anything about them. Other than Ethan and all the crazy talk from the French woman they had no reason to believe anyone else even existed.
Putting these two groups together should mean finding out a lot more about the the location and motivation of the others in future episodes.

My money is on Sayid in that challenge. What intrigues me is the popularity challenge where you knock out the people you like the least first. I think Claire skates by here for most of the game, but does she have the skills to take out someone at the end? Doubtful. Can't wait for next week's epsisode to get the story lines back on track.Dood, Jin will win at that. Hurley's a big guy but he puked at Sea urchin. He is the wild card huh? I have a feeling that he will end up saving someone in a fight against the others. The main question I have right now is when will Desmond pop up again?
maybe Desmond took the boat

I am actually waiting for the French chic to make her first appearance of the season. I think Desmond is found dead somewhere else on the island at some point but that's just my guess. I really think it all hits the fan when the tailies and Mike see the weapons in the hatch. I'm sure Anna and Mike are going to want to hunt for the others. I still don't know why all those weapons are in the hatch in the first place. The main question I have right now is when will Desmond pop up again?
Probably in case one of their expirements goes awry and creates a group of people that tend to kill any strangers that come to their island. Oh wait, that already happened...I am actually waiting for the French chic to make her first appearance of the season. I agree though, with the firepower down there and 40+ people, I think they could mount a serious attack. Problem is that it will be jungle fighting and something tells me that aside from Locke and Echo, the rest of the survivors wouldn't do so well at that.I thought I read somewhere that he definitely reappears, but I have no idea when and whose side he will be on.The main question I have right now is when will Desmond pop up again?
I am not going to slam you at all, but they have been tying in back-stories since the beginning though, so if you don't like the back stories then you will never like the show. I actually like them, I think it is pretty cool to understand the characters. To be honest, I actually wish this week's show was stretched into a couple episodes because I think they glossed over the first couple days of the tailies and the attacks. I thought the Anna/Nathan/Goodwin stuff was really good, but they went through the other stories too fast. I guess they did that since we already knew last week that there were only 4 tailies left out of 23.Does it bother anyone else that the writers are just making this all up as they go along?
Had this been a one season show, all the answers would have been revealed already. But once they signed up for another season, the writers started stretching the show with extended back-stories, useless divergences and now a whole new cast of "tail-enders", with upcoming back stories.
I bet if you look at any of the original flight episodes, not one of the "tail-enders" are on the plane. oooo, maybe they're all "The Others"
I was one of the biggest fans of the show early on in the first season, but gave up half-way through. I decided to give it a shot again this year and it's the same crap. The writers are just stringing everyone along while they decide what to do with the story (depending on how many years they can extend it)
It should have been a one year show and it would have been awesome.
I'm sure I'll get slammed for this since this is a die-hard thread.
