*** Official Marvel's Daredevil series on Netflix (1 Viewer)

I loved seasons 1 and 2, have watched those, Luke Cage, JJS1 and Punisher.  Just started up the Defenders since you need to have that base from what I understand for season 3 of DD.  Gotta say I really enjoy Defenders so far.  Finishing ep 3 and it seems to be building nicely.

Yeah, if you don't see Defenders all the way through, you're not really going to understand the beginning of Daredevil S3.

Defenders was a good series.  Very well put together and integrates the main and sub-characters very well from the other series.

I liked DD3.  Really well put together.  Fisk as a villain is always intriguing, and I really like how the Netflix show presents that character.

Started it yesterday, finishing ep 5 now.  Fun interactions, but too bad Netflix seems to be abandoning these one by one.

it is funny to me i love love love daredevil and punisher i love jessica jones i liked luke cage and i thought iron dork was stupid mostly because the acting was horrific for whatever they do wrong in iron nerdhands they sure do daredevil and punisher right take that to the bank brochachos

I don't know how much is Netflix abandoning them and how much is Disney making it impossible to stay with them.

Really liked season 3. Is there going to be a season 4? JJ getting a season 3? Those are the two best shows (with Punisher right up there) so I won't really mind if the other two are done.

Jones gets season 3, Punisher gets season 2, then we don't know after that.

When their new streaming app, it's not surprising Disney isn't continuing with Netflix.

I don't know if we'll pay for the Disney app but it's going to be tempting.

I watched the same 11 minutes twice in a row last night.  I don’t do that very often. As soon as it ended, rewound to make sure I understood what I’d just seen.

Spoiler:

From 22:22-33:17 is all one, continuous shot. It puts the hallway fight scene from S1 to shame.  I went back to make sure - all one shot.  Amazing.
OK, 22 to 33 is a lot of different shots with Foggy, Matt, Nadeem and others.

OK, I am guessing you meant Ep4?  Just getting into that one.  I was all pumped when I started 3 and was like, huh?

Yes.  4.  Sorry, I must have lost track of episode number while binge watching.

Why do you have to like one more than the other?  You can have more than one account at the bank.  And you can take that to the bank.

Yeah, that was pretty crazy.  They have had some great ones, including the stairwell scene.

I’m on S3E7. Is it me or does every average Joe on the street kick DD’s ###? And they are laying in the Fisk wins/good guy losses a little heavy, IMO.

As much as I love DD, I get tired of the constant feel of this series that the good guys are just losing forever, life sucks hard for them and cannot possibly get worse, then all of a sudden they win.  There has to be a better formula than that right?  One of the reasons I liked Defenders was there was not hte overwhelming feel that the heroes were doomed and it was all dark.  Give us some light and hope every so often.  JJ had a similar pattern in season one.

It was rather good.

Daredevil is one of the reasons I became a lawyer.  True story.
My mom is blind, I keep hoping it will happen for me. Then I just have to get those sweet Ninja skills.

It's definitely what the comics were like during the DD heyday (Frank Miller years.)  It's why it was set in Hell's Kitchen.  And why even when they "win" it's usually really just putting off horror and terrible things for another day.  It's what living in the "non-glamorous" big city is - just getting #### on all the time and hoping you don't break.

There's also the major plot point that DD spends more than half the season getting his mojo back after being in the coma or whatever.

First his sense of smell comes back. Then his hearing comes back intermittently, in and out due to head blows for another couple episodes. And the whole season he's dealing with serious injuries from The Defenders finale etc. that never healed in the first place.

So basically DD season 3 never saw a full strength DD, or even a moderately healthy one. He also had a death wish for about half the season and a protective suit for none of it. He was injured as hell the whole time even after his super senses returned to normal.

Actually one small continuity error that bugged me is late in the season the big stitched up cut on his forehead just disappeared. They had been really good with injury continuity up till then and there wasn't a passage of time to explain it. Really stuck out since he had spent the whole season re-opening it in fights and then trying in vain to cover it with his hair when going out as Murdock.

So Bullseye, dressed as Daredevil, attacks the Bulletin and kills a bunch of people. The news reports that it was DD. Karen tells her boss and the FBI that it wasn’t DD. When asked how they know it wasn’t, they can’t answer. Why not just tell them it’s because the real Daredevil was there and fought the one that was killing people? It’s the truth and wouldn’t lead to people thinking that they know who the real DD is.

How would they know that the guy in the Daredevil suit was an imposter and the guy dressed in black is the real Daredevil unless they knew the identity of Daredevil?

Foggy and Karen were the only ones who saw the real DD. They just say the guy in black said he was Daredevil. Add that to the fact that the first time he saved Karen, he was wearing that same outfit and he was protecting people rather than killing them. I would think that would be a good reason for Karen and Foggy to believe him.

Season 3 knocked it out of the park.  Possibly the best season in all of the Netflix/Marvel universe.

Vincent D'Onofrio was awesome.  By far the best actor and character in the series.

It was good, but I liked S1 and S2 better from what I remember. There was just too many boring episodes this season to start. Kingpin was great as always, but I think next season will be better.

Definitely the best of the Marvel series.

Yeah, Season Three was fantastic. The whole plot with how Kingpin set everything in motion was great.
Yep

And they left a path open for season 4.

I do love Karen. Almost as much as Claire and Misty.

When does Misty's show air?

When does Misty's show air?
Misty was in seasons 1&2 of Luke Cage, season 2 of Iron Fist, and Defenders. LC and IF have both been canceled and I don’t believe there were ever any plans to do a second season of Defenders.

Sure

But she's developed to where she can and should get her own show.

This whole marvel/Disney/Netflix/sony thing is confusing.
I believe this particular situation is more like Disney and Universal when it comes to the Hulk than like Disney and Sony over Spider-Man. Disney owns Marvel which has the rights to DD, JJ, LC, IF, the Defenders, the Punisher, and the Hulk.

Universal owns the distribution rights to any Hulk movie. This means that Disney can only use him in other characters' movies, not one of his own.

I would think that, similarly, Netflix owns the distribution rights to their Marvel shows. It may be even deeper than that because the shows were developed specifically for Netflix. So I don't know if Disney would be able to move them to Disney+, at least not without some big money changing hands.

Just finished Season 3. Really good. D'Onofrio as always, killed it (literally and figuratively). I have a special place for Matt's mom as the actress who played her is Joanne Whalley, who was married to Val Kilmer, and was a friggin' smoke show back in the 80's. Known movies she was in were Scandal, Willow, and she was also really hot in a cable movie called "Kill me again".

I'm sorry, I know that this is the darling of the Disney TV stable, but would it be too much to ask for a super hero to actually wear his super hero costume?  We've had 3 seasons of DD on Netflix and like 1/2 a season of him actually wearing his costume.  If I wanted to watch a soap opera I'd sit down when my wife is crying over This is Us.

Yes, Marvel is all about the characters.  But it this show needed to put the super back in super hero.  Glad it's going back to Disney where it will be done right.

There, I said it.

Sepinwall had a series of tweets recently talking about these shows continuing on Disney's streaming service (something many fans are holding out hope for) being an impossibility. The MCU movie people are in charge of the new TV stuff and not only don't like the old MCU TV decision makers but also don't think the Netflix shows fit into the "real MCU" at all. It's not happening.

The writing, acting, etc. was awesome on DD and JJ. But so was the dark subject matter and the brutality of the fightsn which isn't happening on Disney+. Disney+ can not do those two characters better, not at all.

Yeah, I don't forsee Disney showing Jessica breaking the bed.

Apparently it wasn't canceled because of ratings: IGN article

I've heard they may reboot the characters from the Netflix shows on Disney+. It won't be the same shows, and maybe not even the same actors, but more integrated with the MCU.

Will they keep the episodes they have out on Netflix for a period of time or will they eventually go away?
