4 star WR Jordan Payton to Washington. The coaching shakeups are really helping UW.
Yeah, things are really panning out for UW. Thompson, Payton. Then Brostek, an underrated OL from Hawaii and now Mickens. Great 24 hours for the Dawgs.

Mild surprise for Alabama getting Virginia top-200 DT Korren Kirven....who was originally thought to be deciding between VT and Tenn.

Some rumors of a potential big switch from FSU to UF by 5-star DE Dante Fowler.

Alabama faithful found a way around the 'Fax Cam' ban...setting up a new one via an 'unofficial private' site (and Fax Girl is back):

Small potatoes for programs like Bama, but Otha Peters changes his commit last minute from Tennessee to Arkansas. Rivals has him highly ranked as a ILB, 247 has him as a OLB.

Devin Fuller to UCLA.
Tough loss for Rutgers. FWIW, noone has defected just yet post Schiano but it sure seems likely theyre going to lose Hamilton in addition to Fuller.
Five Star DE Darius Hamilton stays in-state to play for Kyle Flood and Rutgers. Huge get for Rutgers as they not only keep their entire class in tact after the Schiano departure but also land the State's top prospect for the second year in a row.
Thought I read yesterday that a 3-star TE out of Jersey City with a pocketful of D-1 offers de-committed and jumped ship to BC.

Pleasant surprise for Michigan landing 4* RB Dennis Norfleet. That won't sit well with MSU guys. They also gained a committment from Willie Henry a couple days ago... 3/4* DT...a position of need. That leaves a couple spots for surprises, but otherwise this class is set. Just tracking the LOIs coming in at this point.

 My day is going to mostly spent pulling for UT and Auburn recruits to flip or sign elsewhere.

Don't know how accurate these guys end up being trying to get in the minds of 17-18 year old kids, but if Michigan can land Reeves, Diamond and Garnett I'd be a pretty happy camper.
Hopefully, with tOSU signing Camren Williams(Reeves' teammate), they have a bit of an advantage on him. But, he's still taking his visit to PSU where he is currently a verbal. Who knows about him at this point. As far as Diamond goes, he had glowing comments after visiting Columbus, but he's done the same thing everywhere he went. But, if they can nab Dodson, it would make Diamond a much smaller need.

:football:
Reeves officially decommitted from PSU and made it clear it was between OSU and UM. I was over at mgoblog and they had a link to some links at "bucknuts" about how the sky was falling because Reeves didn't commit on the spot after Meyer was late to the visit. Honestly, that place is hard to follow so I didn't get much out of the threads. I know in the past few days Hoke visited. Yesterday Meyer visited and today Mattison is visiting.
FWIW, if you want to visit a much more realistic tOSU board, go to buckeyeplanet.com. Much more moderated and civil there. Lots of UM posters there.

Thanks! I also found "eleven warriors" or something like that?? They seemed pretty good to. Just wanted a place to go that when they find out you're a rival they don't turn into 9th grade dooshbags.

Univ of Miami has 31 commitments to this point including 2 pretty big QB recruits. Lot of speed in this class, lot of WRs to replace the losses of Hankerson and Streeter the last couple seasons. I'm shocked to hear Miami could pull off the #6 ranked class. I know these things are not the end all be all but Randy Shannon could no recruit outside out of Dade County very well.

Ohio St LOI's coming in as expected, except for a 'mystery LB' who we are supposed to find out who it is in a few hours. Many think it's Jamal Marcus, a 3/4* DE/OLB from NC that was down to tOSU and E. Carolina. His highlight film is very, very impressive. This Defensive front Urban is bringing in has the potential to be filthy.

11 warriors is a blog, but you'll find most of the same people at buckeyeplanet.

This kid is good. Watched him earlier this year. There is a lot of talent here in NC/SC area...more the NC area. I am surprised how many schools are coming here and taking the talent away from UNC and NCSU. All the "elite" talent seems to be leaving and going elsewhere.

Is the UT thing from the traditional rivalry, or the Fullmer being a POS?
Some of the former...a lot of the latter....although between Fatso and Laney, they've self-inflicted plenty of damage lately.Auburn's class is a mystery right now...could be a BIG swing up and down.

@Balas_Wolverine - Rumblings of ANOTHER potential signing day surprise for Michigan. Signing Day is NEVER uneventful! #fb

AI read some article that of Chizik's huge/great classes of 2009/2010, only something like 40% of the players remain on the team. Sup with that? I guess it just aint Dyer leaving that school?

here is one article about it

http://www.al.com/sports/index.ssf/2012/01/what_happened_to_gene_chiziks.html

BIRMINGHAM, Alabama -- Tommy Tuberville did Gene Chizik no favors by leaving behind bare final recruiting classes. Twelve of Auburn's 28 signees in 2008 never even played a down for the Tigers, and only five of the 28 will likely exhaust their eligibility.

Tuberville's last group truly was, as the Opelika-Auburn News recently dubbed it, "The Class That Time Forgot."

So what's that make Chizik's first two classes? Because time is quickly forgetting many of those players, too.

Remarkably, 43 percent of Auburn's 2009 and 2010 signees are no longer on the team, or never joined the program in the first place. That's a brutal percentage, especially as Auburn sits with the SEC's fewest 2012 commitments and two new coordinators who inevitably will weed out some veterans.

Jon Solomon is a columnist for The Birmingham News. Join him for live web chats on college sports on Wednesdays at 2 p.m.The good news for Auburn: It sits at 24 for 24 from the 2011 class still on the team, as far as we know. But 2009 and 2010 are the classes that keep on disappearing.

The missing signees are spread out among positions. They include six offensive linemen, four wide receivers, four defensive backs, three linebackers, three running backs and three defensive linemen.

They're not just fringe players. Forty percent of Auburn's four- or five-star signees listed by Rivals.com from those years are gone. That doesn't include five-star offensive lineman Shon Coleman, who hasn't played while fighting cancer and remains in the program.

IMO that program is on the verge of being in big trouble....on the field. 43% is the number I believe...combined with the Coaching exodus and new hires...combined with rumors of more coaching exits after NSD...combined with a potential poor '12 class....hard to find a lot of upside. All that coming a year removed from a Crystal Football. Its almost as if they put themselves on probation for Cam Newton.

This sucks as a UC fan, especially if he actually makes the grades. I can't say I blame him though. RB is the only position we have where a 4* would walk into a logjam. Without knowing the Mich depth chart, its likely more opportunity at a bigger school closer to home. I can't be too mad at him for switching.UC did get Caleb Stacey from Michigan though.Crazy that Rutgers is doing so well. That must be why they stayed in house with Flood.

Stacey also saw the writing on the wall. This kid will need to put on some lbs to be useful in Borges' offense though. I suspect one of the rbs will get redshirted.

Waiting to be carried out to sea by the flood of tears that will fall if Dorial Green Beckham chooses Missouri over Arkansas.

Five Star OLB Josh Harvey Clemons picks Georgia over FSU and UF. Huge get by the Dawgs.

I think Willimas committed to Auburn.

Miami Gets Tracy Howard. He said that he wasn't sure about UM until he read Charles Robinson's article last summer. Huh? :loco:

9:40 a.m.: Fowler Jr. makes switch After missing on a few recruits this morning, Florida received some good news with a signature from five-star defensive end Dante Fowler Jr. The St. Petersburg (Fla.) Lakewood end had been committed to Florida State but hinted he could change his choice in recent months. Despite the loss of Fowler Jr., Florida State will retain one of the top defensive line classes in the country with Eddie Goldman, Mario Edwards and Chris Casher.

So the rumor was true. Fowler is top 30 overall with both 247 and Rivals....not a big loss considering the position load FSU got, but may ding the overall ranking a tad.

Yeah, not a huge loss for the Noles but a big addition for the Gators considering they lost on Harvey-Clemons.
