Somewhat. It sounds like the UCLA staff is a little put off by the Mixons and how they handled the last month (particularly the last 24 hours) of his recruitment.

Starks is an excellent consolation prize, but nobody seems to know for sure if he will be admitted to UCLA (he got kicked out of Bishop Gorman in Las Vegas for some off the field incident). If he can't be admitted, then UCLA may continue to push for Mixon, but right now, it doesn't sound like it.

There are a lot of west coast analysts that are extremely skeptical of Mixon ending up at Oklahoma, for what it's worth. It has nothing to do with the Oklahoma. They just don't see him leaving California. A couple are calling him to flip to Cal.

There's plenty of skepticism on the OU side as well. I wouldn't be surprised at all if he flips, I'm cautiously optimistic for now.

Big weekend coming up for USC with a few players who are undecided or they are hoping to flip visiting Columbia. Just picked up a 4* DB commit Monday night which is really needed.

I'm not sure it's any less of a limit than others. You can sign more than 25 in the B1G. The big numbers like 33 are outliers I think...more a sign of a bad roster for UT. The key limit is still the 85 total limit. If you have room for 33, your roster is in a lot of transition.

Actually...the NCAA did also adopt a yearly rule...which mirrors the SECs. 25 limit 'soft cap', allowing for more with back counters.

No, the other cap is 25 per year. But, that has nothing to do with national letters of intent. You can sign 60 players if you want. But, only 25 can enroll in the fall.

They've got both. Scout has them at #2 in the overall rankings, and #16 in stars per recruit average. Scout only counts the top 25 recruits in a class.

In 247's composite, they are #6 and are #11 in average per recruit. They are getting it done.

And, rankings are quite meaningful if you want to win.

Scout's count only the top 25 (or less, obviously, if you only sign 24 or fewer players). You can sort their rankings by any of the headings at the top of their ranking page, including average star per recruit.

Even after losing Hootie and Cam Robinson to AL, this could be an unreal year for LSU recruiting.

I actually expected D'haquille Williams the #1 JUCO player to go back with LSU but he signed with Auburn this morning it appears. He was originally an LSU commit, flipped to Auburn, then seemed to be waivering. I was thinking with Beckham and Landry leaving and with Auburn being more of a run offense he might go with LSU. If he's as good as advertised it could help AU's offense even more. The X receiver slot is all they've really gotten any production out of. Adding a 2nd wideout that can produce would open things up even more.

He was all LSU, but unfortunately, through no fault of his own, he got on the wrong side of some pretty bad guys. He thinks his life might be in danger if he stays in Baton Rouge. He is one hell of a player though. I wish him the best regardless of his choice.

That being said, LA has some ridiculous receivers this year. We should be OK either way.

They've kind of split up during recent visits to LSU, Bama and others, but they will head to UCLA together at the end of the month. I am now more worried about the Bruins than FSU and Bama. Feels like it's LSU and UCLA now.

Not what you meant I know...but it is the programs money. Which is why I'd be worried about the future of my program if I'm a Tennessee fan. Florida and UGA are loaded programs who will recruit regardless of record...facilities, location, recruiting base, etc. Tennessee won't get back there, at least anytime soon. So now they need to worry about USCe and Mizzou for second tier in the East...which is a battle they are currently losing also.

He's been pretty vocal since the AA game so hopefully it sticks. Definitely looking that way.

UCLA will be visiting him today (RB coach, Kennedy Polamalu). UCLA does not feel great about him anymore. It looks like he'll stick with Oklahoma.

Davon Godchaux is tentatively scheduled to visit at the end of the month with them, too. Rashaan Evans may also be making an unofficial that same weekend.

I think they all clearly like UCLA and UCLA probably has a decent chance. It's key for them that their officials to UCLA end a mere 3 days before signing day. But...it's tough for anyone to move 2000 miles from home, let alone teenagers. And, let's face it, LSU has been just a tad bit more successful at the game of football during these guys' viewing lifetime. Dupre supposedly has family that lives in L.A., which would be helpful for UCLA.

I wouldn't blame them one bit if they all decide to go to LSU. I love Louisiana myself, and if it were home, I'd have a tough time leaving. They all seem like good kids and have done their due diligence on each of the schools. It says a lot that they paid their way to go to UCLA multiple times.

I hope they pick UCLA, but if not, I wish them the best. LSU has a great atmosphere and a proven track record in football. I've got a lot of friends that went to LSU and they loved it. They've got great options.

I think Michigan offered him at one point but I don't think either part was seriously interested...hope it stays that way.

Looks like Michigan's shifted focus to next year already...a blitzkrieg of offers going out recently. Happy to see Keisean Lucier-South offered, finally...not sure what took so long. Seems to be well received too.

This is a big difference you see between the great recruiters and the good ones. Some coaches know how to balance now and the future...some focus on now until they can shift their focus to the future. Sometimes those who don't plan ahead as well can pull it out late...but not consistently.

Even since the start of 2014 recruiting Michigan has seemed focused more on 2015. A lot of the talk has been about 2015 like 2014 was an afterthought. It didn't make sense to me at the time, but now I sorta see where they're going and what they're trying to do. But I still wonder if any recruits in 2014 were lost because of the approach. It appears that they'll be happy to carry over a couple scholarships to next year and not worry about filling them this year.

It will be interesting to see if the larger programs back off of recruiting Jayru now. My guess is several schools may say they are not interested in him, but there will definitely be a school willing to take a chance despite character concerns. IMO, the bigger schools should pass & let this turd go to lower tier program.

Plus, I had a chance to watch a couple of his games this year, and I don't think he's all that. Talent level better suited to a small-mid sized school than a B1G.

ETA: With Cook (Jr), Terry (RSFr) and O'Connor (So) in the mix, I don't think MSU needs Jayru.

As of today, he's committed to MSU...they haven't pulled their offer.
