***Official*** NFL Draft Thread 2005 (1 Viewer)

Dear Minnesota Vikings,

Thank you for not drafting Mike Williams.

Sincerely,

Packer Fans
Umm Packer fans.Williams, Williamson, Clayton it doesn't matter. The Vikes will own you this year.

The Vikes will win the North and you won't

And I am NOT a Vikings fan.

Arizona is currently trying to negotiate with Minnesota for one of their RBs I'm guessing.Failing that, I'm thinking Spears/Merriman/Rolle. One of these guys has to be a steal.

No trades thus far, a little disappointing. We assume Washington will jump on Williams, no? Maybe we'll see someone jump into Arizona's spot here.
You are thinking like a fantasy footballer about the trades and stuff. There are only a few each year... not like 10 like most people were gunning for.

An OC who is in his first year in the NFL, working under one of the longest tenured coaches in the league, who also happened to play in the NFL and one of the better GMs in the league is not going to dictate who that team takes with their 1st round pick.

Chow could cheerlead for MW all he wants, but Fisher and Reese are going to take the player they felt would help the team the most. Chow likely wouldn't be the most objective evaluator of Williams either.
I agree with you that the Titans front office is top notch. Because of that, they'd be silly to not listen very closely to what Chow had to say.I'm not really sure why you don't think Chow would be objective...I'm simply saying that if I was the GM of the Titans, I'd really want to know everything about Williams that I could. Maybe Chow talked him up, but they fell in love with Jones. And that's very possible. But for me at least, this is a red flag for MW.
Top Notch? They have lots of tenure but no championships.

If anything, they aren't getting the job done. Winning regular-season records mean nothing.
They consistently draft better than any other team in the league. Salary cap problems have now caught up to them though.
The only way to judge an organization is post-season success, period. The last time the Titans accomplished anything was when they ripped home-field-advantage away from an extremely good 14-2 Jaguars club in 1999. Since then, they have done squat. That has to be someone's fault. Either the club hasn't gotten enough talent, or the coach isn't getting that talent to perform. Otherwise, where are the rings?

perfect! Now if the Skins don't take MW, I'm going to be sooooooo pissed.Still don't like the trade to get the late first rounder though.

Looking back on the Moss trade the Vikings look terible.WR Randy Moss for MLB Nap Harris and WR Troy Williamson :P THanks for giving the Packers the NFC North Title :D

And now Washington is in perfect position to grab their top rated DE, leaving the Cowboys with few options at their big needs (CB/DE).
I dont think the Cowboys will be sad with their choice of Merriman/Ware/D.Johnson/Carlos Rogers

Santa in town today?Another beat into the ground joke courtsey of BnB.

Anybody counting how many millions Rodgers has lost in the last week so far?
Good point, although I bet nowhere near how much he's counting. For a guy that seemed to be the likely #1 pick up until a few weeks ago, that's quite a dent.

While you have a point on paper, you're forgetting two things:1) We have no idea how good Williamson is going to be (or Nap Harris in Minny)

2) We have no idea how the Vikings will benefit from not having Moss on the team (they likely won't, but much stranger things have happenned -- see the Ewing effect)
