***Official*** NFL Draft Thread 2005 (1 Viewer)

wow!Williams, Rogers, and Williams in Motown. Those are some nasty WRs if they stay healthy. They made that pick quickly too, which suggests they don't plan on trading MW either. He's a great fit for that offense though.

Great quote by Berman"If you ever get them all (rogers, williams, williams) on the field at the same time, then the excuses for Harrington are over."

I'd love to see Rodgers go to the Raiders, but they need too much help on defense to make it a reality. Rodgers went to my high school, so it would just be great to see the local guy play for my team...but will it happen? I say they talke a linebacker or a corner as their first pick.

With Detroit taking Mike Williams, I'm thinking Dallas trades down now and still gets Merriman, Johnson, or Ware.

I guess the Lions aren't sure about Rogers health - Lions are gonna be scary on offense ...oh wait - still have Harrington and Garcia... :P Lions and Vikings will battle for the Division title, with the Bears/Pack battling for the basement :boxing:

Theyve committed too much to Collins for Rodgers to be a reality.

BMW was a great value pick at #10 but a horrible pick for DET, in my opinion. Just stupid to keep drafting WR every year without a good QB.

As I continue to use the draft selection of Mike Williams to reveal the true insight of a team...if Williams goes to Detroit, what does that say about Charles Rogers?

The NFC North doesn't play any defense anyway. Why not line up Kevin Jones, Charles Rogers, Mike Williams, Roy Williams and Cory Schlesinger?

Detroit lacks a good TE and a good third WR anyway. I think Williams might be the best pick for them here.
:goodposting:
Didn't they sign Pollard and Kevin Johnson recently?

The Boys r receiving lots of attention now concerning trades. I say trade down a few spots and pick up more picks.

I had forgotten about Pollard, so that's a good point. But I still believe there's no reason why they can't consistently run a three WR offense. If's the NFC North, every game is high scoring anyway.

Detriot's selection is proof positive of why they'll always suck. That pick should have been traded.

I agree that the Lions could outscore the Pistons some nights.

Or it's proof that they draft the best player available.I'm betting they had Williams rated far, far higher than anyone left.

The idea of Williams to Detroit flashed in my mind when Washington was on the board. I think it was a nice move by the Lions. It may mean that Rogers is not expected to recover, that Williams will play TE, or that Detroit simply went for value. Regardless of the reason, the Lions are going to be overwhelming on offense next year if they can get adequate QB play. Kevin Jones, Charles Rogers, Roy Williams, and Mike Williams? That's just nasty.

they have to be writing rogers off. otherwise this pick makes no sense, especially after signing KJ(2) who is more than capable of being a WR3
