Don't know much about the kid, but going through my Sporting News, they have him rated as a 7th rounder on their value board (somewhere around the 190th player).It seems they could have gotten him a bit later-----

Is this a reach?????

Don't know much about the kid, but going through my Sporting News, they have him rated as a 7th rounder on their value board (somewhere around the 190th player).It seems they could have gotten him a bit later-----

Is this a reach?????

That is rediculous... Sporting News that is. This is a guy who played along side Clayton at OU and helped make a pedestrian QB look all world. He has BETTER :shock: physical attributes than his more polished and NFL ready teammate Clayton. I had him as the 7th WRs or so on my board and clearly top 10. I think many around agree with me as well. The kid may need a bit more time to develop, but is a very nice pick IMO. Especially seeing that MM is in town and there is far less pressure on him to do it now.

This is pathetic...I had forgotten the Jets actually PICK in the draft. I started scrolling to see who was up and I was like -- oh wow, the Jets are actually in the NFL. :yawn:

PFW had him as its WR9 and the 66 best player available regardless of position.
 
I don't think Mark Bradley is that good and would rate that pick a definite reach at this point in the draft.He completely melted down in the national championship game (before it got out of hand). Looked like he had no clue what he was doing.

Frankly, I'd rather have Craphonso Thorpe than Bradley. That was definitely a reach. Should've just traded down and taken Thorpe at the late 2nd/early 3rd and gotten an extra pick out of it. Or, hell, taken Thorpe and Bradley both.

Lots of talent is still out there at WR. Both Georgia guys for instance. Very little seperates any of this group though IMO. Really just preferance I would say. I'm just happy to see that a QB I own in my Dynasty league is getter surrounded by talented young weapons. :thumbup:

Well, I'm a Bears fan, and I'm not real ecstatic about a receiver who scored an 11 on the Wonderlic.

The comment that gets me is that this kid may need a bit of time to develop.

Which brings me to the question:

Would the Bears have been better off going WR/RB instead of RB/WR?

Is Bensen/Bradley > M. Williams/Arrington or Barber or Fason?

Reggie Brown went to the Eagles already.I think Mark Bradley is garbage. I'll be interested to hear Angelo's reasons for that pick.

I play in an 18-team dynasty college fantasy football league with 40 man rosters and picked him up as a free agent near the end of the season. #1 for him to be even available at that point is a warning sign for me, because anybody with any talent on a good team is usually rostered. #2 After picking him up, I watched him closely and he really just looked like a mediocre WR. He has decent size and speed, but defenses were completely focused on Peterson and Clayton so he never faced tight coverage. I think he was a day-2 type draft pick.Also, in the 1st quarter of the national championship game, he made at least 2 or 3 of the dumbest plays I've ever seen a player make. It almost made one think he had bet on USC and was throwing the game, they were that bad. If a player is going to pick the biggest game of his career to make the biggest mistakes, that's not a guy I want to spend a 2nd round pick on...especially if his talent and upside is so mediocre.

 
Wow. I'm loving the Cards' draft. A guy with a full season of 100-yard games in the 2nd round? Fantastic.

I would've been looking at Terence Murphy, Craphonso Thorpe, Courtney Roby, and maybe a few other guys.

You know what? Looking at this pick, RW McQuarters is a memory. There was some question before, but the only reason to take this kid in the 2nd is because you have to have a returner who can burn. They brought him in to be a Jermaine Lewis kind of guy is my bet - he'll be a 4th receiver who can return punts and kicks and be on the field for fake punts and kicks.

Thorpe's the guy I wanted. Maybe he'll drop to day 2.

I probably am being overly harsh, and I could be totally wrong on him. I've been wrong on plenty of players before.I just wasn't impressed with what I've seen out of him, and don't have a good feeling about him. 33 catches over the past 2 years also isn't that impressive to me.

Fair enough. I like him in Chi though. I don't think he is ready to make a big impact right away and Chi doesn't need him to with MM and others there right now. I think he needed a team that was going to put little presure on him to start and let him absorb the NFL game. I think he finds that in Chi.
 
Webster's a good pick for the Giants. What's the deal with Will Allen anyway?

I don't think Allen is in the teams long-term plans anymore. There have been rumors they were trying to trade him and they may still but I doubt it. I really think he will be allowed to walk in '06 unless he has a great year. I think Webster will be the nickel this year and starting left corner next year with Will Peterson on the right.

Not if they really want tatupu. The next several teams need D help. Miami, Jets, Cinci, Minn, St. Louis, and Green Bay will all be drafting D today... I think it's conceivable Tatupu wouldn't have made it down to SEA.
