***Official NY METS 2014 Thread*** (1 Viewer)

These have to be the best 6 games Murph has ever played. What a win. I guess the rest of the bullpen will need to get some innings starting tomorrow. If Wright could do anything, that would be so fantastic. LGM

Yeah Collins just mentioned Familia might needing a day off and using Clippard to close. Likes his options.

"Boom mutha ####in' "

Did anyone else here this as they closed to black on the past game? Swear it was on mic.

So Murphy is literally playing himself out of NY, right?

He is gonna want a sizable contract. One that might be over inflated and one the Mets probably don't any part of?

8M this year and he will be 31 at the start of next season.

I was on "tape delay" until a few minutes ago- very hard these days- avoiding contact until I caught up. Looking good, Amazin's!!

WOOOOOOOOOO

Team is playing really well now. Just looking better than the Cubs through the first two, taking nothing from the Cubs. Pitching has been just fantastic, and will need to if we are to take this all the way.

Grab the chances when you get them then pitch and play D.

Gotta take it one game at a time - which is damn nice after two great wins and deGrom up next. It's three games in their park, so no time for any let down. Good thing is the team legitimately seems to be having fun, they are embracing this run, so that works in our favor... but they are a HR team and we are going to Wrigley, so they need to keep on grinding while we keep on believin' !

BTW, what an announcement to the baseball world - the Mets are not just contenders. With the way their rotation and end game bullpen line up, I'd not want to look at having to get past that every year come post season. A real chance having an ace at games 1-4, for multiple years.

With some more depth behind... wonder what will become of Wheeler.

ETA... basking in the moment, but nice to know it's not a flash in the pan. Suddenly we must look damn nice for a FA as opposed to just a year ago, when there was definitely a Mets premium to get someone to come here.

Nothing worse than putting your young kid to bed and in doing so falling asleep yourself before the game starts, than waking up at 2:30 am not knowing how things turned out.

The trepidation in pulling up the results online and worried about what you were going to see followed by the excitement after seeing the results.

Gotta love it!

Get enough sleep tonight.

No excuses for tomorrow!
Gonna do the right thing and let my wife own the TV tonight.
We all have our sacrifices to make..
Yeah, I already sent her a text, "Can't wait to just chill out and watch some trash tv!"

"Yeah, me too!"

World's Greatest Husband.
Plenty of time to be world's greatest husband after the season is done. and then football season is done. and the playoffs. Maybe after march madness, or after catchers and pitchers report... woo hoo!

Colon/Niese could start for Harvey G5

CHICAGO -- New York Mets manager Terry Collins expressed concern about lingering swelling in Matt Harvey's right triceps and suggested that Bartolo Colon or Jonathon Niese might be needed to start for him in Game 5 on Thursday.

Harvey was struck with a line drive off the bat of Dexter Fowler in the sixth inning of Saturday's opener against the Chicago Cubs. Harvey ultimately completed 7 ⅔ innings in the Mets' 4-2 win, but he described his arm as "dented" by Fowler's shot.
