***Official NY METS 2014 Thread*** (2 Viewers)

Yeah for some reason Harvey is the only one I even remotely worry about psyche wise, so giving him the ball in game 1 is good for his ego. DeGrom and Thor seem machine like. And I love Noah at Citi Field.

How good has Colon been outta the bullpen? Loving him in that 6th-7th inning slot.

I was getting typical Mets worried when Matz put two on knowing how quick a 3 or even 5 spot can go up at Wrigley. When I saw the big guy heading in from the bullpen, my blood pressure dropped back to near normal. Just a sense of real calm a vet presence and a guy who cant be fazed.

Niese seems to embrace his very specialized role and it has been key in very limited need here. That rotation and solid starters embracing their roles makes for a very short game

If you could choose, who would your rather face in the WS? Both teams can rake, but I guess I'd rather see Toronto.
Yeah I think KC is just far too well-rounded. Seems practically impossible for them not to score at least a handful of runs/game. We have better odds of Toronto going cold like Chicago did. Plus KC has the much better bullpen between the two.

I generally agree, but this is the flip side... It takes only one, certainly no more than two mistakes to potentially lose a game against Toronto. More likely to shut down, but also more potentially able to win a couple, also.

Regardless, with the Big Four ready to go, any team is going to have some difficulty when those guys are on their game.

Two thoughts:

1. Ugh, so we have to deal with 5 days of almost non stop coverage of this awesome team and this, again, NEARLY unbeliveable season before we play a game? Days and days of positive stories and reflections and highlights of these Mets? Gonna be tough.

2. WOOOT. Now when there are stupid trinkets at stores (7-11 winter hats, cheapo cups, lighters) the Mets will again be represented, and perhaps for a long time to come. Sorta more serious here than it sounds even.

Never thought of you as a cat man.

Great jacket. My 86 Carter jersey is a bit snug so I usually roll with the 87 Strawberry.
Grew up with dogs and cats, but won't have a dog unless there's room for there to run around outside which isn't an option here. And Im not exactly a teacup dog guy.

Always loved both and was not planning to get a cat, but ended up with two rescues, one from my wifes work, one who's mom I saved as she was wondering around pregnant.

As to the Jacket, it actually can BARE fit on me still, but losing 25 lbs in the last couple months with the illness helped with that!

Uribe headed to KC!
Is he on the roster???

BTW, Jacket confirmed as purchased during '86 season - it worked back then... let's see it double down 29 years later!

PPS - That happens to be the same year as my bar mitzvah, same year as the dance with the young Ms. Katz... big year all around!

I have to stick with this thread. I've posted exclusively in here all postseason and while I see the game thread going I don't want to change my routine.

Bit superstitious...
